We went for the weekend brunch. They have a good menu for $31 that includes a lot of options.
Disappointed in quality of good. Normally eat the Matchbox at the Mosaic District. Mosaics food quality is much better
Food was good. Service was good. Sat outside upstairs and they had none of the fans running and it was pretty miserable with little breeze.
Service was excellent and I enjoyed my pizza
We enjoy dining at Match Box. We feel that the wine and beer per glass are over priced.
Double date with friends. We were seated right away but it was incredible loud and our server messed up our drink order several times. We also felt very rushed. The food was good but they didn’t have some key ingredients for the dishes which made our choices more limited.
Not a great meal. Filet was undercooked in salad. Kid’s pizza was spicy for unknown reasons. Margherita pizza was super salty to the point it was unenjoyable. I like matchbox, but this was my worst experience by far.
It was just ok. Food and service and ambiance were not spectacular but nothing specifically negative to report. Just not good enough to want to go again.
Unfortunately there was no communication about ending brunch 2 hours early. We waited around for BRUNCH and it would have been nice if they said it when we came in or the two times I called. The staff seemed understaffed but overall our waitress tried to make it better for us. There was also a bit of lying to the customers going on because when she told me brunch was no longer being served she said it ends at 1pm (when I know from website and sign on table it says 3) and it was 1:30pm. We had to ask around to figure out the real reason and turns out the kitchen was overwhelmed and unable to continue brunch. And on top of that they continued to serve brunch to people who arrived maybe 20 mins before our reservation time of 1:30 pm. This was just an inconvenience because my husband and I were visiting from another state for our anniversary weekend and they were not very forthcoming with information. Always end with a positive our dinner at 1:30pm was tasty.
Waiter kept disappearing. My pizza was underdone. Very noisy and could barely hear my lunch companions. They described Their food as delicious.
Our server, Rodrigo, was very accomodating and provided superior customer service to our table of 7. While I enjoyed the food, it was a little frustrating to order items on a limited basis. The serving size on each plate was small, not even enough to constitute a serving for one person and as a large table we should have been allowed to order more than 6 items....there was a table of two people and they ordered the same amount of plates as our table of 7 people. We will return to Matchbox, but not for brunch.
Really cute outdoor ambience, good food. Service was a bit slow, but our server was nice enough. Spinach dip and crab soup were outstanding Lobster fra diavolo pizza was different and tasty. Drinks were pretty standard. We’ll be back!
We chose to sit outside because we have a toddler, but the staff was very patient and kind to us and didn't mind when she subsequently trashed the table (kids!). I highly recommend sitting outside if you have young kids with you because they have room to run around if they get antsy and they're somewhat contained! Food was excellent and the unlimited brunch menu was a good value.
This was our second visit to Matchbox at one Loudoun. The first time we went with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time it was much more awkward and the food was not nearly as good. For one thing, the restaurant has changed it’s Wine menu so that no bottle of wine is less than $40, and that is for the “Matchbox” brand wine. The last time we ate there, we ordered the ribs, and they were delicious. We ordered the website again this time, and they were sickeningly sweet. In addition, the server had to keep going back to ask someone else about things on the menu. I’m not sure it’s worth the drive to Loudoun county to eat at matchbox One Loudoun.
Fantastic service from Alex and Mo (bartenders) during happy hour. Energetic environment. Food is on the saltier side, IMO. Great restaurant for families, couples, dates, singles, groups, etc.
Matchbox food and service is amazing! However, it tends to get a little loud and it is pretty hard to hear in there.
This place was generally fine but some of the portion sizes were ridiculously small. I ordered the $28 crabcake entrée and they delivered to tiny crab cakes surrounded by french fries. After some back-and-forth with the waiter, the very helpful manager gave us a comp for the crabcakes and also gave me a much better crabcake to take home.
I went for the first time ever for the bottomless brunch. It was absolutely wonderful and delicious! We had a great server. Since we went in a little bit earlier for brunch, we slid right in and had no wait at all! 10/10 place!
Always great food and service. It was mobbed with prom kids and very noisy but actually we were impressed with how the staff handled it all - very cool calm and collected and still providing wonderful service! Pizza is a must at this place! Salads are great - they are very flexible with orders and sharing. We love it here!
We were there for brunch on Mother's day later in the afternoon when it wasn't too busy. It still took quite some time to get our orders. Two of us ordered the bruchbox ($30+, unlimited food, drinks not included) and we left without receiving all of the items we ordered. The check came quickly and was processed efficiently. It also showed that a few of the dishes we ordered were never sent in to the kitchen, which explains why we never received them. Overall, food was great but the service was lacking.
The “Brunch Box” tapas style menu $32/person with the $3 breakfast cocktails is a great idea but the execution needs improvement.
Food items was great, many options and full size pizzas is part of the “Brunch Box” menu. My only gripe was the amount of time it takes them to bring the food to your table. Your limited to “2 hours” and they ran out of items 1.5 hour before the end of brunch. I guess you could order a bunch of food at a time but it would of lessen the experience.
Enjoyed our first experience with Brunch - we will return.
New brunch box idea is fantastic all you can eat small plates is a great idea.
We tried the new chicken wings item...not their best dish. We don't recommend them.
It took over 45 mins to receive our food and NO it was not busy. Also our family of four were seated at a small center table instead of the larger side table for four people. Six of these tables were open and yes we ask to move but no. And yes I had reservations. Once our food finally arrived there was no room at all. No I will not recommend or go back again.
We had a great time, enjoyed our food and the experience, but it took a long time to get our food.
Mother’s Day, great service and food.
Jennifer took excellent care of us!
I love Matchbox, all locations. Great service, fun food and drinks. The brunch special is a great idea! I highly recommend
Really excellent pear salad and cremini pizza- kudos to your chef and staff!
Our food took almost an hour to come out. The Mgr did come by and apologize and offered us a complimentary appetizer. I will still go back..I’m a fan.
Easter dinner for my mom. Crab cakes were not as good as they used to be. Onion straws that came with my sliders were cold. Waiter had tables on both top and bottom floors making his ability to provide good service problematic. Phones were not working so calling to modify the reservation was not possible. Lots of little things combined to lessen what could have been a terrific meal out
Was looking forward to Easter brunch here all week. We waited easily 70 minutes before we saw the first morsel of food after we sat down. I get that they're slammed for Easter ...but I'll not be going back ever again because of this experience.
I would not recommend to anyone for Brunch. We were very disappointed in the changed to the Never-ending tapas style brunch. The price per person was way to high for the lower quality food with this setup. The kitchen is not able to keep up with the dishes and the wait staff has very little to do. We were very disappointed in this change. We loved coming here for brunch before, but will never return for this brunch again. Matchbox is a great restaurant for lunch and dinner......and now we are sad to see the Brunch option ruined.
I recently brought my family to brunch at Matchbox. Overall the food wasn’t too bad and my family enjoyed it. However, it didn’t seem the staff/kitchen was able to accommodate the number of guests in the restaurant therefore limiting our “unlimited” brunch experience. The experience is marketed as only 2 hours which should be enough. However, we were greeted after 6 minutes of sitting down. We ordered all of our food/drinks at this time. The drinks didn’t arrive until 15 minutes later and the food until 25 minutes after ordering. The same occurred with the next order, about 30 minutes for the food. So, in summation, it was very difficult to enjoy the experience of trying various dishes as the two hours would expire merely from waiting for the food to arrive.
We had Easter brunch here. They didn't have anything different from their normal brunch menu, which consists of their brunchbox menu. They have multiple menu items, which you pick from and they bring them fresh. There is no limit as to the number of menu items you can order. It's about $31 per person, and kids under 6 eat free. I found the blueberry french toast particularly good. We also had eggs, shrimp grits (which were much better than I expected), a meat pizza, a sausage breakfast burrito, cinnamon bun, among other things. Everything was great. With doing again.
We love it here. We go at least once a month. Upstairs is a little noisy, but the atmosphere is great. Their new menu items are great!
Overall experience was awesome. A small dinghy because of noise level in regards to where we sat. We actually enjoyed being in the boxes in booths on the second level but our voice reverberated within in the booth making it seem louder. Food was fantastic from apps to dessert. Service was awesome and friendly. Definitely would recommend for a brunch or dinner with a small group.
Terrific and delicious
