Outstanding Osso Buco

Food was overall good, service was decent, good experience overall. Great atmosphere.

Sat at the bar. Very friendly bartenders. Excellent drinks and an amazing meal!

excellent tasting food although the menu isn't extensive, the food is unique, very attentive service

Only positive was the food- it was ALRIGHT and the portions were good. Started with the shrimp and grits- the grits were not grits tho they were a rice or a big grain which were bland. One entree was the chicken pho soup which was really good and seasoned well- portion was very big. Other entree was the ravioli which the sauce was very good! Again portion of the larger size was good. The service however was HORRIBLE! Had to wait 20 min for a table past our reservation time. We sat down and ordered drinks- one of the drinks when brought over to the table was spilt on the table and guest, wasn’t completely cleaned up and drink wasn’t replaced. Then after that no one ever came over to take our order- has to ask the manager if we had a server. Last, asked to have happy birthday on plate for dessert with candle- dessert came and neither of those happened- we got the check, paid and then right before leaving a plate with happy birthday and a scoop of ice cream with a candle were brought over- as we were about to leave.

I have not been to Match in a couple of years as I moved out of the immediate area, but it’s still an amazing restaurant that is popular, has great food, awesome staff, nice bar and overall dining experience I can’t wait to go back!

Make a reservation and ask for a table not a high top, unless you like high tops.

For the ladies: smaller plates are not tiny so try not to be talked into a large portion, especially if you start with a salad (they are large).

Made a reservation on a pretty busy Saturday night for 7p and we were seated as soon as we walked in. Our server was amazing, really energetic and recommended the best drinks! My boyfriend really loved the match mayhem I believe it was called. Ordered the shrimp cocktail for appetizer and the plating was surprising but I thoroughly enjoyed it. For the entree I got the steak frites with the garlic butter spinach and it was unbelievably delicious, everything worked together and it left nothing to be desired. My boyfriend got the margaretia pizza and it was finished in 2 seconds, he couldn’t get enough. All in all I felt the food was very reasonably priced compared to it completion and we will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Norwalk!

Best steak frites, EVER! Very accommodating to our last minute large group. Hadn't been in a couple of years, great reminder that we need to go back more often.

Loved everything about it. Have tried to make weekend reservations at the last minute several times. Finally we planned ahead and went with friends. Well work the wait. Make a reservation for weekends dining. We will definitely be returning.

Have been here before and missed the filet mignon not being available on this visit. Had the steak frites including 14 OZ steak for @$35. Would have preferred a smaller cut with a corresponding reduction in price as it was too large to finish. (Did bring it home however). Sharing a pizza as an appetizer was a very good choice.

Match is standing the test of time and actually has gotten better with age. Really good food. Sophisticated in a more casual (fun) format.

Match Sono is magnificent. Chef Matt Storch is one of the most inventive chefs around, and he never ceases to amaze. He elevates Brussels sprouts to an art form as an appetizer. Stunningly delicious, they are tiny, roasted, and beyond delicious. The arugula salad is sublime and makes a great starter. A signature dish is the osso bucco. It’s a stunner, in a “braising love” sauce that’s rich and satisfying. Served on risotto, the meat is tender, moist, and melts in your mouth. That said, leave room because you’ll relish the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, which are served with peanut butter ice cream, carmelized banana, toasted pistachios, chocolate curls, and a dollop of whipped cream. It’s sharable, but you won’t want to! And don’t skip the espresso. Smooth and served right with a lemon peel on the side. This place is a “Match” made in Heaven.

Everything was superb!

I always have an absolutely fantastic meal at Match. It’s my favourite special date night spot. The food is definitely worth the money. The wasabi tuna dish is the best tuna dish I’ve ever had. Good ambiance. Nice for romantic date.

It's predictably very good. The food quality and service were top notch. The Forest Pizza is my new "go to" appetizer!

We were sat down for dinner and the place seemed nice enough. It was late so we weren’t expecting much, but they sat us down anyways. Tried to order a burger but they “didn’t have the bun”. Tried to order a salad but they “didn’t have chicken”. Tried to order Pizza But they “didn’t have toppings”. It just seemed like they didn’t want us to eat there, and every item we tried to order they told us “we don’t have anymore”. I understand it was late, but if they didn’t have food why waste a half hour of our time having us sit down to tell us there was no food left? On top of all that, the server was extremely rude. I get that it was a late reservation, but that doesn’t mean that your guests deserve to be disrespected. Had high hopes for this restaurant, but we left without ordering anything at all. Every employee was rude and the cooks made it a point to scoff at us for coming in so late. Match shouldn’t have open reservations if they don’t have food past a certain time. It was not a fun experience. I wouldn’t recommend Match to my friends and I most certainly will not be returning.

Norma was our server and she was great! The food was very good and I loved the booth we were seated in!

Wonderful meal- excellent service, particularly from the bartender who came by the table to check a guest’s satisfaction with a special cocktail. Truly a gem.

WE had never been there and selected it on the basis of proximity to the Norwalk concert hall. Imagine our surprise when everything exceeded our expectations! We recommended it to people who were outside and they went in. We’ll be back.
