Best chicken sandwich ever. The slaw and spicy sauce on crispy chicken was phenomenal.
When Match first opened, it was a gem. Inspiring dishes and great ingredients. Windows open in a great location. Then there apparently were multiple chef changes. The menu now couldn't be less inspiring. The ingredients are average. There was hardly anybody there at 7:00 on a first Friday night. That sums it all up. There are way too many great new restaurants that are performing like Match used to perform. It is sad because it used to be great...
We've been to Match a few times over the past year and have not been disappointed. The food is unique but not bizarre. It is always well made with quality ingredients. Portions tend to be a little on the small side, but priced to match. This allows a couple to try a few items off the menu without over-doing it. We usually order an entre and three or four sides...and share all of it.
They always have a great wine list ... which changes fairly often. And the bar is well stocked with top notch material.
Service is always professional and attentive... if not stretched a little thin sometimes.
Overall, Match is a nice place to have a relaxed meal, have a good drink, and people watch through floor to ceiling windows. Nice enough to be classy. Casual enough to be comfortable.
At least they dropped their prices to match their food quality. The ambiance is great. Its so disappointing that they can’t get there food back to where they started. Its just really not interesting, especially for breakfast. I had the Match breakfast and the two pieces of bacon were pretty forgettable, the eggs were good and the potatoes tasted like they came out of a bag. I get that its only $10 but you have competition like Matt’s Big Breakfast only a block or so away. The best part is that it came with toast. I didn’t get it initially so I had to ask for it. I will attach the picture. Seriously you have a great location and building. Do better.
This is a great place with a nice outdoor patio. Food was amazing!
Ambiance was great, food was great, the service was very poor and needed help. It was our first time at this restaurant, we sat at the bar for food and drinks. 3 people helped us and all 3 staff members could of cared less that we where there. Don’t know if I’d return.
Wonderful service and food was absolutely amazing! We are staying at the Foundre hotel and decided to try Match on our first night. We may just go again!!
Wow! Delicious food. Cool atmosphere. We'll be back!
Our waiter, Seth, was outstanding! Food was good, loved the bottomless mimosa.
The food was good overall.
I took my family for Mother’s Day brunch. The food was great! The menu is small with a small selection, but the food they offer was great! They also offer bottomless mimosas & Bloody Mary. The price is very reasonable. Thank you for a great experience Match.
Honestly one of the best individual pizzas I've ever had, quite a surprise for a hotel restaurant! Thin, but firm crust and excellent quality in sauce and toppings. Wife also quite enjoyed her pasta and meatballs. Now to the less good: Restaurant temp was all over the place - first table was freezing. Opted for outside - they have misters (good!) but fans blowing the mist at hurricane force (bad!). Finally got a normal table near the windows indoors. Brussel Sprouts as a side were a bit limp and flavor-less. Unconvincing. Also its a BIG restaurant, so being a bit empty, lacked ambiance. Your mileage may vary here.
Match is a very nice place with a good atmosphere. As for the food, a couple of us had to ask for missing ingredients that were listed on the menu for those dishes. Some of us in our group are disappointed in the quality of the food, especially for the high prices. The protein entrées are the price of a full meal, but you have to pay separately for any side (this place is not up to par with Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris). We even spent $27 at the bar while waiting for our group, fortwo basic drinks and a nonalcoholic beverage.
Loved the food, loved the setting, service was great, but music was so loud I couldn’t hear my friend speak.
While I thought the food and atmosphere we very nice, I thought the over all experience to be grossly over priced. Two people walked out after sharing an entree and two glasses of wine for almost $100 with tip. There are many other restaurants in the area of equal quality at better prices. We will return for cocktails (which are also expensive, but at least you can get out for around $30), but not dinner.
I thought that hotel restaurants were finally getting better until I went to Match. I found the food (what little I had of it) was mediocre at best and arrogantly over-priced. Entire operation was woefully under-staffed. I left after a 50 minute wait for my entree which never arrived; consequently, I will never return and will always recommend Fez over Match which is located fewer than 50 feet away (just across the street on Portland).
In summary, one of the worst dinning experience I have had in Phoenix during the last five years
Do not go here through Open Table. We made a reservation with them through Open Table. First thing we noticed is their menu is not the same as shown on the Open Table menu, which was much more appealing. Our service was fine and the food was fine, but nothing special. Then, we had reserved the table using our $20 dining reward. The waiter informed us that they do not take the dining rewards, which didn’t make sense! He spoke with the manager (who refused to come out and speak with us, by the way) and she said they wouldn’t take it and wouldn’t give us any sort of discount. The waiter mentioned that the restaurant had a lot of turnover. Do not go here. Not customer friendly and the food wasn’t worth your time. Also, the manager should be knowledgeable enough to know they’re on Open Table. Seems obvious.
Great Get Together For Brunch!
Air conditioning was too powerful and too strong
The food was fabulous and Fernando was fantastic!!!! I will definitely visit again
The pork chop was unreal and the jalapeño margarita is to die for!
Family visit. We requested James as our server and he could not have been more gracious. Lots of good choices and cocktails, appetizers and mains were great. Chocolate caramel mousse was unique but a nice ending to the dinner.
We enjoyed browsing the gallery areas and found the bathrooms interesting.
Will definitely go back again
Entrees were good. Was disappointed with the wine list...thought most were significantly overpriced...3.5X
So disappointed with the new menu. It’s very pedestrian. The original menu at Match was serious about competing and elevating the PHX food scene. The current menu falls flat. I won’t return until I hear it’s been completely overhauled.
Loved the venue and ambiance. Service was sub par - first we were invisible, then three wrong food deliveries to the table. Just underwhelming.
The Restsurant was empty but the service was horrible
The help was more interesting in filling up the
Glasses than to help customers. Very dissatisfied
Will not be going back .
There is a wall of floor to ceiling windows that open out into the street - we were seated at a table beside one of these open windows and it was the perfect combo of indoor/outdoor seating. The food was delicious — highly recommend the hummus.
Only complaint, of all things, was the water. They serve tap water (without ice) that tastes like it came straight from the sink. Not what you’d expect from a nice restaurant like that.
I thought the food was good, however the portion of salmon that I got was rather small. And, when I asked for bread for the table I was not told there would be a charge for the item. WRONG
Excellent cocktails & food presentation! Cool environment.
Awesome! Absolutely we will be coming back
Modern decor, knowledgeable wait staff, good eats and easy parking we will come back
Great ambiance, good food the server was friendly. Better yet really good wine selection.
Enjoyed our dinner at this boutique hotel and restaurant. we attended the in focus art show and then went to match for dinner with friends.
Food was very overpriced and didn’t have very many menu options; lots of seafood. Ended up getting the burger and steak. Burger was okay. Steak was decent but way too buttery and not enough salt - would say it’s a little above Applebee’s quality as far as flavor goes; but the cut and cooking temperature were perfect.
Portion size too small
The Sea bass was delicious. Ambience and setting were both nice.
