Match Restaurant & Lounge
I was headed to a concert with friends and we stopped in for drinks and dinner beforehand. I’ve been to two pairings dinners plus the Willy Wonka dinner previously and I LOVE Match! The ambiance is great, it’s wonderful they support local artists, the food and beverages are awesome and always a unique experience, and even the bathrooms are cool!
I went in for prix fixe Thanksgiving Dinner. The hostess was pleasant upon arrival. I sat at the bar, as per my reservation. The restaurant was not busy and the bar was even less busy. No greeting from the bartenders and I waited a few minutes to be asked if I wanted a drink. Still no greeting, no "Happy Thanksgiving", no "Will you be dining tonight?" Got my drink...wrong garnish - easily resolved. Finally I was offered a menu. I asked to leave a couple of items off my order - not substitutions just, "No this, no that, please." The salad arrived almost immediately...as did my entree a couple minutes later. :( Nothing is being cooked to order and they still couldn't time an entree to come out after a salad was finished. Very annoying. The meal was delicious! The turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, bread, etc. everything was really, really good. I would recommend the place based solely on the food. But then back to service: no follow up, no 'How is everything?", no offer of desert or coffee, which was well enough because I had had enough of this nonsense. Asked for my check, tipped accordingly, and left.
Food was really lack luster. Cocktails were great. Good price
Thanksgiving Dinner. Food was good but dessert and wine were not included, making for incomplete meal at $29 and price doubled once wine and dessert were added. Pumpkin pie was $5 and very small thin slice. Overall not what I imagined for Thanksgiving.
Amazing food service & atmosphere! We had the best Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant!
Our first time and we enjoyed it Four people, four different dinners that everyone liked. Happy hour drinks and our deviled egg appetizer were perfect. Our server was friendly, attentive and got it all right. Loved the artwork and décor. Pretty close to the Phoenix Theater and will go there again when we are in the city.
Fantastic experience, the best part was our server! Very attentive, and always one step ahead!
This hidden gem is a bright and inviting restaurant/bar. There is ample seating around a big open bar, that was open to the sunshine on the Sunday we visited through walled windows. There is a lovely patio that is dog friendly and not too big. The interior of the restaurant has spots for twosomes, larger groups and even a couple of high tops near the open kitchen where you can watch folks preparing the food.
The buffet is reasonably priced including 2 drinks if desired. There was a wide variety of food including salads, hot dishes like pasta and crab cakes, more conventional breakfast items like scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon and even a make from scratch omelet bar. There were crepes and waffles as well as a wide variety of breads, desserts, and even an awesome prime rib sliced to order for the hearty eater.
A single acoustic guitar singer was adding a lovely background set of songs through which you could easily carry on a conversation.
Very unique and modern Decour and ambience. Overall I really like this place, however the prices were a little bit high for a happy hour or casual night out. The food was excellent, although all we had was appetizers, it was more than enough food for what we needed. The drinks were exceptional, although the prices were much higher than I could’ve gotten elsewhere. I would certainly like to come back again, just not on a regular basis.
There were 8 people in our party and the waiter didn’t get an appetizer correct, brought it out very late after we all finished our salads, finally brought it late, then, instead of asking if she was ready for her next course, he decided to determine when to bring it. Again she had to get up and ask where her next course was, while we all finished our entrees. Luckily we had time but we all should have been served at once. I don’t know if this was the fault of the kitchen or the waiter, but we were all annoyed.
So enjoyed our time together! We spent 4 hours and didn’t realize it! Thanks for making my birthday so special!
Unfortunately, the food was cold and the server seemed to be having an off-night. Great menu and ambiance but the experience wasn’t great.
why do they sit groups so close together? i mean they have the entire patio to space groups. can’t the server manqge to walk a few more steps to give diners more privacy?? that’s my only little bit of feedback. love the pizza salad beer and restaurant was super cool!!
Great ambiance and excellent service, but the menu was hit-or-miss. The buffalo cauliflower starter was outstanding. My New York strip was two thumbs and a large toe down. The strawberry BBQ pulled pork sandwich was good. The Cosmopolitan cocktail was quite tasty. We sat outdoors, but light rail line was about 50 feet away and a regular conversation interrupter -- something to keep in mind. The artwork throughout the hotel is a major plus, and I recommend budgeting an extra hour or so just to wander around and experience it. Only valet parking is available, but complimentary (sans tip) for 2 hours.
Completely recommend the roasted chicken with cornbread, mashed potatoes and asparagus dinner! Avoid the banana cheesecake; it has a strange flavor, plus the crust tasted odd also, like it had refrig or freezer burn. Great service, though!
We really enjoyed our meal at Match. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. We had a great window table. Everything we ordered was great, but I would highly recommend the German Chocolate Cake. It was amazing. We will definitely return soon.
We enjoyed our first visit to Match. We both ordered the steak, and enjoyed it very much.
I had the peach salad with salmon. The salmon was delicious! I will definitely come back.
We went in early for a quick pre-theater bite. Very professional server understood and made sure we had no delay. A couple of delicious and inexpensive starters later we were on our way. Can't wait to go back of dinner.
It was a pleasant atmosphere with a nice and varied drink and food menu.
Wonderful evening great food great service great location will definitely go back
Nice restaurant.
Food was good.
Drinks were good.
Staff seemed a little pre-occupied with the LARGE group that came in just after us with a LARGE reserved table.
I think we were lucky to get reservations.
Will come back sometime.
Stopped here due to good reviews on the way to a concert downtown. This is a hidden gem in a boutique hotel. The Found:Re hotel. Great food. The wings were some of the best I have ever had. Great service. Fantastic happy hour specials. Would definitely make this a usual stop on the way to any downtown event.
The food was good, great flavor and the restaurant is pretty
Great food and great service. Love the whole look of the hotel, lobby and restaurant. Dinner was great. Ordered room service for breakfast. Want nearly as good as dinner. Ordered eggs Benedict which was amazing but cold. The waffle was just that. Cold and no butter or fruit as stated on menus. All in all a great escape ...
Loved the ambience and customer service was fantastic. Happy Hour everyday🥂🏃🏾♀️🤫
When in for some late-night snacks and drinks Alex was at the bar mixing it up. Great drinks and the food was on point . Chill little spot very lounge like vibe . Very artsy as you walk in you feel the Openest of the space . This will be our new spot to chill and drink and people watch .
Great spot. Will return to check out the bar area since happy hour specials aren’t observed in dining room. And they had live music starting in bar when we were leaving. Our sever Sarah C. was fantastic. She handled a large group that arrived intermittently with ease.
The food was VERY good! We had the Match Burger - so much flavor! Also tried one of their pizzas - VERY good as well! Prices are "ok" - pretty average in Scottsdale.
This was my second visit to Match and I was even happier with this restaurant than during my first visit. Everyone from the valet person, to waitress and hostess knew we were in a crunch for time (due to having tickets to an event downtown), and they made sure we were served quickly and everything was satisfactory. My friends split the fig pizza and loved it and I had the arugula/beet salad with salmon on the top and it was fantastic--the salmon was done perfectly!!!! We had a great start to a fun evening and will be sure to go back again!
Visited for my hubby’s birthday with friends. Friends cancelled but we still had a great time. They do not have a kids menu, but it was easy pulling together sides for my 4-yr old. Excellent service, great atmosphere. Will definitely dine again.
We went with another couple. The server let us try two wines before we got a bottle to decide which we liked better—when does that happen? My husband’s strip steak was more gristle than meat and when we told the server, he took it off the bill! We met the manager and told him our server was excellent. Turns out our server was just promoted to manager! Good ambiance. There was really good live music in the patio with misters. Sweet!
Quick and easy! Decent food. Nothing too special. Great Monday deal - pizza and margarita for $10
Delicious food, attentive waiter, nice atmosphere! The German Chocolate Cake is a MUST!
The beet salad and the coconut salmon were outstanding. I wouldn't have expected this from a hotel restaurant!
Excellent brunch! The staff was very attentive and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the salsa with the breakfast potatoes! It’s a little tricky to figure out where to check in as it is connected to an art museum.
We love love love Match! We've had our last 4 family celebrations here and will continue to come. Beautiful food at a reasonable price and WONDERFUL service. Cheers!
Beautiful atmosphere and good service by wait staff but the food is average and my tangeray and tonic tasted like dishwasher.
They did bring me a fresh drink. Wanted to like this place but there are many other better places to dine.
Portions were too big. Loved the atmosphere. Good service
My spouse and I have driven by this restaurant many times in our travels and have always commented how nice it looked. We finally dined there last Saturday during Phoenix's Restaurant Week. We were very glad we did! The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We sat inside along the generously-sized open windows which provided a nice warm breeze and a nice view of the small park next to the restaurant. We both ordered from the 4-course Restaurant Week menu. The food was delicious; the portions served of each course were more than generous. The only negative to our experience was our waiter. He was poorly trained and was unable to answer any of the questions that we posed about various menu alternatives. He tried his best but had to frequently disappear into the kitchen in order to get the answers to our questions. However, setting aside the service issue, our experience at Match was so positive -food quality, minimal noise level, beautifully decorated - that we will most definitely give this restaurant another try in the near future (hoping for a different waiter of course!).
