My favorite! My go to whenever I'm in the City. Never disappoints.
Thanks to our waitress, we selected the Restaurant Week menu.......excellent selections and good value for such an upscale bistro. Appetizers, entrees and desserts were delicious and the waitstaff was attentive and courteous.
Stopped at Match 65 for lunch/brunch prior to a concert at Citi Field. The service was wonderful. Loved the ambience and the food was just perfect. Oh-- and the desserts were to die for! Thankfully, we did not have to eat the mediocre food at the event. We would definitely like to visit this restaurant again!
Came here for restaurant week, got the escargot, salmon tartare, wild mushroom ravioli, moules frites, nutella crepe, and vanilla creme brulee. Everything tasted amazing!! Usually eacargot comes in the shell but they were out of the shell here which i didnt mind because it still tasted delicious. The salmon tartare was very fresh, and the wild mushroom ravioli was so creamy and flavorful. The mussels came in a huge plate full of smaller than usual mussels but it was a mountain full of them! The fries were good, nothing out of the ordinary. The nutella crepe came with dulce de leche ice cream, two tiny crepes, and some whipped cream-delicious but how can you go wrong with nutella crepes? The creme brulee was so creamy and crunchy sweet on top. 5/5 food! Service was great, ambiance was nice, highly recommend !
A nice neighborhood restaurant with authentic and cozy atmosphere.
Match never disappoints from the lovely French accents to the yummy food I just love this place. Love to sit at the bar and make new friends.
Host and wait staff were very gracious, especially since I had misread the French Restaurant Week web site and thought the event had not yet ended and I gave them a hard time about it. (I was wrong, as I discovered after returning home.)
The food was very good, but I cannot understand how this, and many other restaurants - from the most modest diner to the fancier brasseries - do not buy decent tomatoes at the height of the summer season, when they are available at every green market in the city and at many grocery stores. I actually sent back the slice on my burger, as it contained not only part of the hard white tomato core, but a bit that seemed to be part of the stem or something. The replacement slice was not as bad, but it was from a tomato you would expect a restaurant to be forced to provide in the winter (pale and not ripe) and not in the middle of summer.
Excellent as always!
Went there during the French week. We are French and we took their special menu, the escargots (snails) were outstanding. The mussels were very good but we weren't impressed by them (they were really good but after the escargots we were expected more). The desserts (tarte Tatin and crepes) were really good. The staff were really gentle and helpful. It was a really good experience.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner two evenings in a row!
Kind, professional, accommodating and courteous staff bring service to another level adding to a pleasurable dining experience. A menu offers a diversity of options all amazing!
Cannot wait to return!
We each had a salad and shared a dessert. The Tarte Tatin was delicious. The salads had lovely ingredients, but it felt like the dressing had been put on earlier and they had stood around for a while bc the lettuce was soggy. Still tasty and the chicken was good. I would definitely return because I have been to Match 65 before and it was always wonderful.
This is my 4th time to Match 65 and enjoyed every time. Great cuisine, great service and an amazing staff.
I can not wait to go back again.
Great meal (the only thing that could be better (in my opinion) is the poivre sauce. Other than that everything was delicious. I didn't love our table for five being by the kitchen but it was a round table which works better for five. I did not finish all of my steak au poivre and fries so I asked to to take it home, sadly when I got home I saw that the remaining fries on my plate didn't make it into my doggie bag!
It has the best food always,
nicest people work there,
the restaurant feels like Paris
Go here for a wonderful steak frites or a Nicoise salad! A little bit of Paris in NYC!
I have never not enjoyed everything about this restaurant,
As always is not a mistake dining at the Match65 the food was outstanding and the perfect French ambience in upper east side NYC !
Went to Match65 for lunch. Great salad and healthy dish selections. Service was really good. Looking forward to try at dinner time and get a full course meal.
My place to go for steak frites and wine. The Service is excellent
I love the old world feel of Match 65. It reminded me of when I was in Paris. Service was good and our waitress was attentive. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the delicious food and I must say that the seafood was very fresh. I usually get a bad taste with mussels, but in the bouillabaisse, each bite was tasty! This is definitely a place where I will return to.
Food was very good, but service was lacking, Not enough wait staff, and what there was, was hampered by a manager who was constantly taking the waiters aside to talk to/lecture them. The patrons did not seem to be the focus.
Also, incredibly loud and noisy. If the restaurant had not been super convenient to the event we were attending, we would have made a different choice.
On a rainy bleak spring afternoon we found total comfort in this cozy and authentically parisien brasserie with a menu to match and unexpectedly outstanding service, attentive, ubiquitous, quiet and speedy. Not destination dining but perfect if you are on the Upper Eastside shopping or want to escape to Paris for lunch. Worth a walk up Madison apres window shopping!
What I love, and why I keep coming back to Match 65, is they always greet me enthusiastically and with a big smile. They are courteous and welcoming, and it's how they treat all guests. The ambience is very French--they don't rush you-- and the food is consistently good. I love it especially for lunch with friends--especially if you want to linger over wine. This is place is a gem. They atmosphere is relaxed, yet special. A true find.
The food is so delicious and French. But not complicated. Just authentic. It is cozy and the atmosphere is like a French bistro! Très bien
Cute restaurant..happening vibe...very good food....great location...It's a lot of fun...and fairly reasonable. I would definitely return.
MATCH 65 is a beautifully designed French Brasserie. Great atmosphere. I loved the staff, from maitre 'd to my waitress and buzzgirl (all good looking and kind people). The service was attentive without being suffocating.
I had a delicious salad with goat cheese and beets for starters, then for my main course I had one of the best burgers I've ever had.
My date had the escargots and fish of the day and was most pleased as well. I thought the choices of wine were excellent. Overall, a fantastic lunch and I'll most definitely will go back soon to experience dinner.
Very high quality french bistro. Would definitely come back!
A very Parisian bistro experience - good food and great for people watching.
My mom and I came for dinner after an exhausting long day with family. We were famished and in need of some peace. We had delicious food - steak fritte and for her, the special shrimp - classic French preparation, done to perfection - and a carafe of Sancerre. Service was lovely, noise level fine- full of people happy to be there but not noisy music or a screeching scene. Expensive but worth it if you are looking for lovely food on the UES.
This is a welcoming, very French place with unfailingly delicious, simple food.
We were 45 minutes late due to traffic congestion, and had tickets for Park Avenue Armory that evening-so really crunched for time. Seated us immediately, took orders, got us fed quickly and very well, and out in time for the performance without feeling rushed. Very professional, competent. A bit pricey and noisy, but overall a good experience. Would recommend and go back.
Rather bland, over-priced food in a tired appearing old French brasserie that doesn't look like its been updated since the 1950s.
This was the perfect place for an Easter Sunday brunch. Excellent good, wonderful service, I am glad we had our Open Table reservation -- the line was long for people who did not have reservations.
Great evening. Solid brasserie food with an unusually good wine list.
Match65 always delivers for a nice meal in an attractive environment with pleasant and efficient service.
It was very nice there. The serving speed is very good.
As always awesome food and ambience my favorite place in upper east side !
We go most Saturday's, when we are in town, the best omelette and French fries in New York.
The restaurant is rather noisy and the tables are very close together, a typical French brasserie, we both love the food which is typically French.
Last weekend we had friends from London and they joined us there, felt they were in the heart of Paris.
The staff are very friendly, just a little difficult to hear one another.
My only problem was the noise level. I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me because the tables are close and it is loud.
We were there after the Hairy Ape performance at the Armory. They were very accommodating when we added people. Food was very good. People were great.
