Nueske's Maple Glazed Bacon Steak
Mastro's Red Velvet Butter Cake
Was a great evening to celebrate sons 18th birthday.
Great steak, attentive service, expensive corkage fee
Mastro's is expensive and the quality of the food and service is always exceptional. But really, it is tacky to run a top flight restaurant and then charge for bread. Also charging for more iced tea, and sprite. If you added a few bucks to the price of the entrees no one would notice. But since we had two teenage boys with us, two baskets of bread were consumed. The total of the tab was over $1000. It's like buying a very expensive car, and then being charged for air in the tires.
Amazing all around, the food was phenomenal.
Birthday celebration was great! Trevor and Marco were our servers and did a fabulous job. Food was excellent.
We were very surprised that Mastros is charging for their bread & they raised corkage fee from $35 to $50. Our waiter didn’t even tell us, I had to ask but he had already opened our 2 bottles 😣 Food was delicious as usual but , very disappointing about these two things.
Very nice evening as usual at Mastro’s.
Food and service was exceptional.
One complaint is some guests were not properly attired. Men in shorts and tee shirts
Seemed like they were too busy for the amount of help they have. They were short of vegetable sides which was disappointing. Also, I think it was rather cheap to charge for bread now. The steaks were excellent as always and so was the other food.
We went to Mastro’s to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We shared the Wagyu tomahawk steak and a Chilean sea bass. Both entrees were excellent and there was plenty of food for the three of us with leftovers. Our server, Eric, was personable and provided excellent service. The finale to our dinner was the butter cake which is a must for any visit to Mastro’s!
There is no finer place for that most special of "Special Occasions"! Our family gathered for my father's 96th birthday. All of our out of town guests were so excited to attend in celebration at this most amazing of "local" restaurants for us here in the Thousand Oaks area of California. Absolutely EVERYthing was PERFECT! Our heartfelt thanks to the entire Mastro's team!
Food was good but not great. Had reservations but still waited 30 minutes to be seated. The hostess was very apologetic and continually updated us on the table status though.
We were there for our anniversary and they surprised us with a complementary dessert which was nice.
There is a dress code but I found that it was not strictly enforced.
Overall a good experience but not worth the expense for us in the future.
Overall very nice night, we were seated in middle of small dining room off the bar area, the prices seemed much higher but I guess that is to be expected with the world we're living in, service was lovely nothing over the top but efficient..overall still one of my Favorite restaurants..pricey but good for still occasion..the presentation of the lemon drop was awesome...Wesley our server was lovely.
I have dined here before, and it was a nice experience. this time, the food was average at best. the ceasar salad was swimming in dressing, the salmon was bland, and the steamed broccoli soggy. i have no problem paying for high quality food, or an enjoyable dining experience-this was neither. there was a lounge singer that was singing so loud you could not hear, and his voice was not even pleasant. Extremely dissapointing.
both steaks were originally undercooked the restaurant did not seem to be that busy but Service was quite delayed
Great experience! The manager was very accommodating and our waitress Ali was delightful! Food was very good as well.
They’ve dramatically raised prices and reduced the menu. There’s nothing unique or interesting left. The same items and sides you can find at any steakhouse. Disappointing.
The tired old basic steak and seafood restaurant menu is good but isn't worth the increasingly higher prices at Mastros. The 6oz filet used to be $38 but is now $53, almost a 40% increase. The service is usually top notch and the food is always served hot but they overload butter and salt on everything. They need to add more variety to their menu and justify the price increase.
We are frequent customers of Mastro’s and we are getting tired of the lack of service especially when we don’t order a bunch of alcohol or a seafood tower. It is a marked difference when we order more and it is really disappointing.
Great food and service!
Everything was amazing. Our server was so friendly and attentive. Food came out perfect. My fiancé and I left happy and stuffed. Can’t wait to go back!
Mastro's has excellent food and service, but their prices are ridiculously high. I don't mind paying good money for a good experience, and I can easily afford it, but if my client hadn't wanted to go I never would have made the reservation. $30. shrimp cocktail, $60. for a steak, no sides, and charging $2.50 for "bread service"! Adding insult to injury is mandatory valet parking.
Excellent service and delicious food. Everything was perfect and such an enjoyable evening with great music and wonderful people.
Excellent service. Food is outstanding as always!! My go to for fine night out!
Another great Mastros venue great service superb food
Fine dining in an awesome atmosphere, and Raymond and the whole crew were fantastic. Having them dish up our sides for us was a great perk. And the food was all delicious.
Mastro's is a very nice place, with great service and great food.
My daughters’ 15th birthdays. We’ve been going to Mastro’s to celebrate every year since they turned 7.
It took an unusually long time for our cocktails to arrive. The consensus of our party was that the steaks did not meet our expectations for this particular restaurant that has such an excellent reputation. Service was also less than excellent. We told them in advance we were there for a birthday celebration. They brought a slice of cheesecake with a candle in it which was very nice. However, I was surprised when I received the bill and they charged us for the cheesecake which we had not ordered. I am accustomed to a birthday dessert being complementary.
Great Scallops and well made cocktails.
We had a wonderful time.
The food was amazing, as always but unfortunately, it didn't start well. We arrived on time for our reservation and were told that it would be a few seconds before we were seated. Three more parties arrived after us, some larger, some of the equal size as ours (party of 2) but yet all were seated before us. My wife and I were baffled by what was occurring so I went up and asked what their seating policy was since we had been waiting longer than anyone else arriving. They for some reason must have forgotten about us but that kind left us feeling unimportant and wondering why we two would be ignored. Our server was amazing and the food was delicious. I think next time we will try their other locations to see if we have a better experience.
Trevor was amazing! He took great care of our party. He was attentive and checked on us regularly. The food was wonderful as always.
Great service and atmosphere
Food and service was impeccable as always at this fine dining restaurant. Waiter Marco and Manager John attentive to every detail of the dining experience. The Chef's cut bone in ribeye was perfectly seasoned and grilled, and enough for two to share when appetizers and a side are ordered. The dirty martinis were on point as well. Such a great dining experience!
It was our real first night out since the pandemic. Dinner first followed by our first concert. We ordered the lobster and shrimp cocktail tower and scallops for our appetizer. So delicious! The variety of breads was outstanding and so good! My wife had a great caprese salad. Then we split the 18 oz bone in rib eye and had a side of the garlic mashed potatoes. The food was outstanding along with the service. It was really great getting out and seeing people out and about enjoying themselves.
Melissa was great. All the food was amazing as usual. Always a go to for me. They never disappoint
My steak was cooked to perfection, and the service was impeccable. Staff members were friendly and attentive.
Wesley, our server, added to the delightful meal! Celebrating our daughter's birthday - actually on July 4th - was enhanced by the delectable steaks, lobster, and side dishes. Wesley brought the stunning Chocolate Sin Cake as a surprise dessert. The cocktails were crafted to perfection, and the Chardonnay was very nicely chilled. While we expected the restaurant to be crowded, it was pleasantly calm and quiet, We look forward to a return soon!
