First off; hostess was bad, unprofessional. Food; for steakhouse the chef/s doesn’t know how to marinated the steaks, lack in flavors, doesn’t know how to cook the steaks to the level of requested to be cooked. Even with a Caesar salad was very plain. This has caused me to think in the kitchen were lack of experience chefs ( amateur ). Compared to other restaurants in the bay areas his restaurant is very low on 2 in food for me. From management to food, the restaurant should have taken the sign that says “Dress code restrictions” off the wall.

Service was wonderful and food was delicious. We got the dry aged bone in rib eye, scallops, white cheddar Mac and cheese, brocollin, asparagus, bread service, and truffle butter. We told them we wanted the entree to be split between two people and they took the trouble to split the items themselves. We also had two little kids with us. They do not have any kids menu and they didn’t have glassware for kids which was the only bummer but expected. I would eat there again.

If you have a dress code enforce it. When I was called early in the day to confirm the reservation I was asked if I was aware of the dress code. I was told it was business casual, no jeans, no running shoes , no beanies. The table next to us both people were wearing ripped jeans and the woman’s belly was hanging out. And though not running shoes we observed Crocs, sneakers and lots more denim. Service was meh, 45 min after we were done eating the waiter seemed puzzled we did not want dessert. We did but 40 min earlier. Steaks were good not great.

One of the worst experiences ever. I think I’ve had better service from the airlines in coach. Couldn’t get a server to help us and they tried to handle it 3 different people which just made it worst. I ended up leaving the table and going to the bar to get drinks for my wife and I after waiting for ever Then to top it off the bill was $$$. Do not go there or if you do sit at the bar.

Took a friend here for her birthday -- it was my first time, and I was so impressed with this place. Our servers service were impeccable, the food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant is so beautifully laid out. The menu came with my friend's name on it and a happy birthday greeting, which she liked. The porterhouse steak was cut to make it sharable, and the birthday slice of cake with ice cream was unbelievable -- and quickly upon my request they brought another slice of the butter cake, sans ice cream, for my friend to take home. Overall this is an upscale steakhouse dining experience, from beginning to end, that you must try. It's worth every dollar you will spend. If you're unfamiliar with Westfield Mall in Santa Clara, come a few minutes before your reservation so you can find parking somewhere and still have time to walk from the parking lot and make it on time.

I was disappointed. I expressed to the waitress I just wanted to relax have my pre dinner martini. I gave her my order including a glass of wine I wanted but told her to wait until i at least finished my martini. i wasn’t even half way through the martini and my appetizer came. Then again I express my wish to relax and my sinner came out. It was not busy so I am not sure what the rush was

I celebrated my birthday with friends at Mastro's and it was an exceptional experience. We had a few different things from the menu including lobster bisque, steak, scallops, etc. Everything was delicious. And the service was stellar. Really amazing experience and great location.

My wife and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at the restaurant last night, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Our server was professional, energetic, punctual, and incredibly kind. The food was top-notch, and they even customized the desserts to honor our special occasion. However, there were two minor issues that caught my attention. Firstly, Mastro's called me to confirm the reservation, requiring me to call back to secure it. This felt unnecessarily cumbersome—wouldn't a text message have sufficed? Secondly, when I did call to confirm, the host asked if I was aware of their dress code policy. While I appreciate a restaurant upholding a dress standard, the question came across as somewhat presumptuous. I am fully capable of dressing appropriately for a fine dining experience. Given that we're not first-time guests, it might benefit Mastro's to better familiarize themselves with their clientele to avoid these minor inconveniences.

We didn’t expecting noise level to be so loud. We were there for our early anniversary and no acknowledgment of any sort. The room was very warm and not at all what we’re expecting, thought it was high end place. The foods were good but my Caesar salad was drown in dressing and cheese, ate a few bites. Portions were big and it’s shareable amount. Dry age ribeye and pork chop were cooked perfectly, good seasoning. Side dishes, broccoli perfectly cooked & potatoes scallop we’re good. Desserts: sin chocolate were good & key lime pie was more like lemon than lime. Overall, it’s good if you don’t mind the noise.

Always a good experience when we have dinner at Mastros. Food is always great! Only thing we ate at the bar and we ordered bread and we had to remind them a few times and it didn’t come out until our dinner came but other than that great experience. We’ll be back!

From start to finish, the entire meal was amazing. Our cocktails were delicious and our ribeye was cooked perfectly (medium rare). Service was wonderful. I definitely recommend it for any special occasion.

There’s no debate about the food, this is top quality and the flavors are outstanding. Service is great, very friendly people. Prices are high but that’s expected from a steakhouse. I just think that $30 for 4 jumbo shrimps is a little excessive but they’re great shrimps at least. You get overall a great dining experience. However, my only problem is the dress code. They make a big deal out of it on their website but I guess they caved in for the Bay Area. Slippers and socks, jerseys, cargo shorts, flip-flops, I mean you’ll see it all as you see it all at “high end” establishments around the Bay. Don’t put the effort to dress well I guess because no one is and the restaurant looks like The Ritz Carlton and Denny’s had a baby together. And I get it, it sounds pretentious but there’s a time for everything and I think it’s too bad to not want to put the effort to look good in a beautiful establishment and just keep your comfy outfit for other places. These people wouldn’t get anywhere but McDonald’s in NYC. All this money in the Bay just to look like you’re about to have your coffee on your own patio 24/7.

While the food was adequate, the service was almost nonexistent. The waiter acknowledged my request to refill our water, but walked away without filling the glasses. I had to get a water pitcher and refill the water myself. The steak I ordered was miss-ordered and they brought the wrong steak. I would not consider the offerings worth the high price.

Frances was our waitress and she was great. she was very attentive and kind. Our food and drinks came out quick after ordering. My lemon drop and expression martini came with 2 refills lol, they shake the drinks table side and give you the shaker to leave at ur table. The entrees and sides were pretty big! Ended up boxing up most of our food as left overs lol It was our anniversary so they gave us a special dessert, we chose the butter cake which was delicious. Over all great experience, food and service. 10/10 recommend

We had a fantastic time at Mastros and are putting it at the top of our list for the best steakhouses in the bay area. Everything we tried was A+. Steaks were cooked perfectly and with divine-like taste. We will be back!

Food was great, when cooked well - incredibly well executed and tasty. However, my husband asked for a ribeye medium done and the steak came out rare. When we asked for them to redo it - they simply heated it up again but this time it came out incredibly burnt. Also service was incredibly slow - waters were not filled once and it was hard to find our server. Dinner took over 3 hours.

Charged for bread (which is good). Took bread plates away when soup and salad was served. My soup was warm not hot. The glaze on my double cut pork chop did not taste good. I was only able to eat about 20% of it. The Bering Sea King Crab Black Truffle Gnocchi tasted C-/D+. Another person at the table tried a little and after a taste left it on his plate. Only ate about 15% of it. Two friends each had steak which they enjoyed. I had dinner here about a month ago. It was very noisy, the food was just ok, the service was less than ok, and the dinner cost was very expensive. I said I didn't think I wanted to return to this restaurant. We wanted to take good friends we hadn't seen in a while out to a nice lunch. My wife said, "Let's try Mastros for Lunch" and I said I'll give them one more try. This meal was a Friday lunch from 12noon till 2:30pm. Had a wonderful time visiting with good friends. The venue was good as it was virtually empty and was quiet. They served about 3 other tables while we were there. I really enjoy Mastros in Newport Beach, but here in Santa Clara, not so much. It's going to be a while before I return. Probably a long while.

Just a few hickups on service and Halibut was way overcooked. Bill was incorrect, charged me twice for the Halibut but they corrected and provided complimentary desert which was very nice. I will still come back because every other Mastro visit has been wonderful.

We had our recent anniversary dinner there and everything was perfect. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was excellent as well. The cocktail and wine selections were extensive but not overwhelming. Overall, a great evening!

Second time visiting Mastro’s, and it did not disappoint. Great steaks, starters and sides. Wine list is top notch with some fantastic half bottle options which were perfect for us since we were driving home afterwards. Service was over the top good. Will be back.

Once again Mastro’s did not disappoint! The food was so delicious! Their sushi is was freshly made and probably the best I’ve ever had. The maple bacon appetizer was OMG good and we will be back just to have that if nothing else! We were a party of 6. Our server was amazing. Super sweet guy. (Miso). He was very attentive and made sure we had a great time. Our desserts were also fantastic! Key lime pie, butter cake and cheesecake. All delicious!!! I would say if anything o would have loved to have the music down a little lower so we could hear each other better. We sat upstairs at a round table.

An absolutely amazing dining experience tonight! A big thanks to our waitress, Frances, and to all the staff! They went out of their way to take care of us. The music tonite was off the charts as well! Now to our dinner…everything was cooked to perfection and presented in the absolute best way! I’ve tried the Lemon Drop cocktail at several restaurants and Mastro’s is by far the best! Can’t wait to go back! A note to the AGM (Michael) - I can’t thank you enough for coming over to see us!
