Mastro's Steakhouse - New York City
Terrible terrible service, despite exceptional food. Waitress took forever to take order, water wasn’t refilled, food was brought out twice (same food) before the bottle of wine was served. When we finally asked the sommelier to rectify the situation, it was. However there were several errors in the check, twice. Overall a terrible experience despite excellent quality of food. When you pay top dollar you expect great service but this just was NOT the case.
The food was absolutely disgusting, catch steak is so much better & worth for the price
If you don't like this place turn in your carnivore card.Sides are perfect. Service is stellar.
Too loud and not the right setting for Valentine’s Day tacky people too and overpriced
Great service loved the live music great
Great food & lives up to the expectations. Great experience.
Food was average. Restaurant was noisy. Service was very good. Not what we expected.
I would recommend Mastro's Steakhouse ANYWHERE! The vibe in New York City is exciting. As at every Mastro's, the food is top-notch and the drinks are the most generous pours of any upscale establishment. They understand the finer aspects of how you like your steak, and you get what you want. Servers are knowledgeable, friendly and smart. It's the place for that special occasion – it IS expensive – but also a splurge for any day.
Excellent. Our waiter was phenomenal.
Was immediately sat. Friendly staff.
The music is WAY TOO loud. You can’t have conversations without yelling.
The service Was amazing! Will definitely come back
Great food, attentive service, and great ambiance! Mastro's never disappoints.
Loved it. Aaron was great.
Everything was fabulous. 10 friends and everyone was very pleased with everything.
Overall the service was amazing and the food was amazing also. The steak wasn’t dry. Lobster Mac and cheese was very good.
They drinks are so good. Can't wait to go back. Tye food was well prepared.
The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding!! Dana our server made us feel like we were the only customers! Highly recommended and will continue to take my clients and family to Mastros!
Steak undercooked. Sides mediocre. Expected better of my go to restaurant!
Amazing great food ambiance nice music great service
great pianist and singer
The venue, food quality, food choices on the menu and service were all over the top. The only disappointment was that the music was way too loud, we found it tough to carry on a conversation at the table. But it won’t stop us from returning again- that’s for sure !!!
The food was excellent as usual and Aaron our server was amazing and had great recommendations!!
My friends and I had a wonderful experience we will definitely be returning!!
Bryce our server was amazing!!! He gave us great suggestions on drinks and food. Memorable evening
Service was above average for most of the night; was a bit difficult to find our server when we were looking to get the check.
Server made food recommendations that were all great - sides of brussel sprouts, gorgonzola mac n cheese, lobster mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Server also recommended Mastro’s signature butter cake for dessert which was also delicious.
Unfortunately, the steaks were not on par with the remainder of the meal. The temperature was fine (we all requested medium rare and found that the steak was cooked perfectly) however the seasoning was miscalculated - specifically the salt. The group I was with frequents steak houses around Manhattan for these types of dinners pretty regularly and i have never had a cut as salty as the one I had at Mastros.
It’s unfortunate as all other components of the meal were terrific including the ambiance and wine selection however at the end of the day, we were there for the steaks and they did not deliver.
Service was great and the food was great as well.
Boys night could not have gone any better. Food, drinks and vibe were all on point
Five star establishment!! Dana our server was amazing! Her service was amazing!!
First time at this one in NY. Where we were seated was prob the worst table. Every time the kitchen door opened or closed this bright light would shine in my face. Our waiter was non professional in every way. He actually gave us the dessert menus and said let me know if u want something. Well we would have but we couldn’t find you.
Our Cajun RibEye had no taste.
Not the experience I had expected.
Amazing food and service. Was even crowded on a Tuesday. Very pricy but worth it. Appetizers to entree was delicious.
Great Fine Dining. Fast and efficient service, food on point as usual.
Filet was not great...pretty tough! Onion rings were not cooke enough and caesar salad was tastedlesss.
Great food. Beautiful place. Highly recommend!!!!!
Our server was very nice the overall experience was wonderful. The food will have you full
It was amazing
Great food. Great music. Great service. Christian was extremely attentive, made great recommendations and made us feel like family.
Simply one of the finest dining experiences in all Manhattan. And that’s saying something. Oysters, onion soup and KC Strip.......simply amazing food staff and ambiance.
Arrive before your reservation time and check in...you will receive a text when your table is ready. 3 bars, 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs offers options for a relaxed pre-dinner cocktail. Go to the front bar and have Olga (OG) whip you up something like a dry ice martini. Impressive selection and bar back set up. Prices are upscale and in line with NYC but found it to be worth every penny. At the table, the lighting is atmospheric which means dim...many folks reading the menu by cell phone flashlight. The bread basket is impressive but that's not why you're here..put some aside for your meal but don't fill up. The wait staff (at least our waiter) were attentive and pleasant. The ambient noise level is moderate and there is live music which adds to the scene but also to the noise level. This is not a long, thoughtful conversation place...you're here for the food. Appetizers - you have to try the signature shrimp cocktail over dry ice just for the show. Horseradish is no joke..use with caution. The sauteed scallops were phenomenal and the crostini to dip in the sauce is a meal unto itself. (3 pieces each to share). Main course - my lady had the NY strip and I opted for the veal chop over the bone-in ribeye and was not disappointed...both were cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Medium rare here means medium rare and be prepared to take a doggie bag home. Ample selection of shareable sides (brussel sprouts, garlic mashed and mushrooms paired well). Hard to beleive we had room for dessert but we shared the pecan pie a la mode with fresh whipped cream...all desserts are shareable portion size...heaven on a plate, paired with a cappuccino and tea for my lady. For us this is a special occasion place and we will be back.
