The food and drink are amazing. I love the shareable appetizers . Worth every penny !
Michael was our server and he did an outstanding job! All the staff was great with a special shout to Rachael Krieger who helped us with our reservation.
Service was a little slow but our meal was outstanding.
The food was nasty and unseasoned. I spent 200 and i only enjoyed the butter cake and the drinks!
The best restuarant in DC
Words can't begin to express how amazing everything and everyone was at Mastro's! I'm happy that I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. The food was delicious and service exemplary! I will be dining here again in the near future!
Birthday service was great ask for server Rice
Food was EXCELLENT. Wait staff was prompt and efficient. Only thing was the waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there. He wasn’t rude, but just not what we expected. Everything else was perfect!
Outstanding food and our waiter was excellent. Mgt forgot to do a birthday acknowledgement they committed to in advance and at the event.
Went for my mans birthdays! Definitely worth every dollar! Service was Phenomenal, Sam was our server and made sure we were taken care of and everything we wanted we got!! Definitely will be back! Thank you for making his birthday amazing! Food was AMAZING! From Tomahawk, Porterhouse! Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon! Scallops!! Lobster!! Lobster Mashed Potatoes! And Alaskan Crab Gnocchi! Dessert was 10/10! Thanks again!!
We arrived early for a 5:30 pm reservation (they open at 5 pm) and asked if we could be seated in the bar area instead of the main dining area. It took them a couple minutes to accept this and they seated us at a table near the bar, great! But once we sat down, no service at all! Three bartenders were behind the bar just chatting up a storm and two water servers hung out in the corner not doing anything. Saw no wait staff what so ever. My husband wanted to leave, especially since the other patrons in the restaurant and bar were not in the proper dress code that this restaurant supposedly abides by (people were literally in hoodies and sweatpants and we made sure to be in business attire per their rules) . I finally got up and interrupted the three bartenders asking if we had to order at the bar or if there is someone to come by and take our order. One of them said he can walk around to our table to take our order. Before he did, a waitress showed up out of nowhere, great! We order our drinks and she insists I order a different drink that she likes better. I ask her if it's the same price as the one I originally want (they are very expensive) and it was more. She kept insisting you get more bang for your buck with this drink suggestion of hers but I declined and wanted my original order. That was annoying. The other couple we were meeting finally showed up and we all ordered food. A person in our group cannot have bread due to allergies and requested no croutons on their chicken salad. Salad shows up filled with croutons. They bring back another order and the chicken is severely under cooked, like still pink. Manager takes it away and removes it from the bill, but overall we won't be back. Did the rest of us enjoy our food? Yes. It was so good. But the initial service was really poor, especially when there was no one in the restaurant a the time and we literally sat there for over 10 mins without being helped, given a hello, or even water. Very disappointed.
When we arrived we were quickly seated but it took about 15 if not more to even have a server come over and give us waters and the menus. It took another 15 mins to put in our drink order and then another 10 mins to get the drinks after that. Our sever then was absent for another 10 mins and when we had to wave them down so she could take down our food order. The appetizers came out fairly quickly and then followed by the food. All during the time our waiter we rarely ever saw. We told the busboy we did not like the roll we had and he just asked if we wanted it boxed up. Not once did our server ask how our food was. The drink I ordered came in a shaker tin and was enough for 2 servings but as I was putting down my tin the other waiter came by, made no eye contact and proceeded to take my half full shaker with my remaining drink without even asking if I was done. I then had to tell him I wanted to finish that and he said no words just put it back on the table. The cherry on top of this experience is when the table was cleared off we were then given a slice of cake for my friends birthday and we had no silverware. After waiting another 10 mins to see is someone would bring us some we had to ask a server who told us, “You could have asked anyone”.... I was under the impression this was a fine dining establishment not Chili’s but okay. There was also an incident where I asked for soda water and was brought a bottle that clearly stated, tonic water, the busboy then left and the male server came back over with the same bottle but with the label faced away and poured it then walked away as if I wouldn’t know the difference. We laughed at the end of the night about just how bad overall our $200 ended up being. Definitely would not recommended due to service.
Rice was one of the best waiters I’ve had!
Lunch special steak salad and lobster bisque was outstanding.
Always a Winner. One of the best restaurants in all of DC. A MUST for anyone looking for an exceptional meal & perfect service.
I’ve had a great experience at Mastro’s last night, only thing is when you’re spending money you don’t want to hear why you’re being seated elsewhere other than the dining area! Guess we was dressed a little urban for the ambiance, when it was guys in the restaurant with fitted caps on etc. other than that we had a great evening no problems with the bill! Lamp chops/ mash lobster potatoes was amazing just wish they kept the comments to themselves about our attire because where we was seated was a better view and able to hear the live entertainment.
Great service. Evan and Jennifer Tag team wait staff were communicative friendly and knowledgeable. Food is great. Second time to Mastro’s in DC and will always come here when in town.
I had bone in filet and fiancé had bone in veal chop. Perfectly cooked. Can’t say enough good stuff about this establishment.
Our favorite Steakhouse to visit in DC. Great environment with excellent music and food.
Had a great time, except for a minor inconvenience, upon leaving, my Fiance's coat was lost. It was pretty cold that evening and have not heard word about if the coat has been found. However, we enjoyed our food and plan to visit again, just will not use coat check.
As always food was amazing and we was very late because of flat tire and traffic and it was a special occasion and they did great by accommodate us and made it work and a great evening
Very good food worth the money
Food was great, service was great, ambiance was great...great night
My girlfriend and I both ordered steaks. My medium rare ribeye came out fine on a 400 degree plate but her filet (medium) came out room temperature on a cold plate. I presume they must have been waiting for my steak, which was a larger cut, to finish cooking. We immediately mentioned it to the waiter and his first move was to bring out a 400 degree plate to our table and try to warm it up on the spot. We initially played along but obviously that was not going to warm up the entire steak. After she tried it we then sent that back and they butterflied the very same piece of meat and brought it back out, now more than well done, claiming it was a new piece of meat. Beyond odd. They were super nice throughout the whole experience- eventually the manager came over to tell us they would not charge us for the "2 steaks" they had served her- and she didn't eat. LOL. Meanwhile my view on the place dropped from holding it in very high regard when we first walked in to considering it a place that really needs to work on their food preparation standards and their means of resolving problems which they caused. We won't be going back.
Consistently good. All around.
Jason was our server and this was my first time here. He was AMAZING. Best service I’ve ever had hands down. I greatly appreciate it you all making that night one to always remember. My mom enjoyed herself and I’ll definitely be back again.
Hands down the best steakhouse that I have ever been to. If you are looking for a great steak, this is the place for you.
This is not our first time eating at Mastro's. The food is always phenomenal. Our server Brett was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and even items that weren't listed. There was only one minor thing. The temperature of my steak wasn't too my liking and Brett took care of it quickly. I will say some may find Mastro's pricey but it's worth it.
Outstanding food and vibe! We love celebrating something special at Mastros!
This is my third time dining at this location. For them to stress such a dress code, I find it weird when I come yet again and there are diners in Timberland Boots, tennis shoes, and athletic wear to say the least. Yet when I arrive and have to stand by the entrance when it's 20-something degrees outside and asked hardly surrepitiously by the bouncer to "remove my hat" given the circumstances, it just took everything in me to just not go somewhere else. The hostesses were a bit rude. I got the text saying my reservation was ready and 5 minutes later the same hostess that checked me in and chatted me up had no idea who I was anymore. Despite these two things the food was spectatular and so was the service as I only expect. I just may be reconsidering this location or be optimistic in the fact that it was a busy Friday night.
This establishment never disappoints. My rack of lamb and my Hubs NY (Kansas) strip were superb. Our waiter was highly attentive and very accommodating. He provided excellent service with a warm smile!
Great food great service
Went to Mastro’s for the first time on Valentine’s Day with my boo. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks. Of course it was crowded due to it being Valentines Day, but I still felt like it was just me and my boo there.. It wasn’t overbearing at all. Our waiters were amazing and accommodating. Great experience.
Pricey but Food is very good with a great range of selections, same goes for wine/spirit list. If you don’t like loud then this is not the place for you. I did not mind but I can see how someone would complain. There is live music. It has a fine dining feel but I would not call it fine dining, maybe that’s because I’ve been to top 10 fine dining restaurants in NYC. If I would compare it to somewhere it would be Delfrisco’s but more expensive. Overall the food was great, service was not that great. It is four star for sure. But definitely not 5.
This was our second time here, and they did not disappoint. Great and prompt service, great recommendations on food/wine pairing, just awesome all around. Highly recommend visiting for any reason!
Loved the food on Valentine’s Day, service was alright. It’s pricey, but the quality was there. Didn’t feel rushed. Overall a good experience.
Always amazing unquestionably the best steakhouse in town
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
Outstanding service with truly tasty appetizer (crab cake) and steak filet (12 oz). Only minor ding was the lobster mashed potato...while good, it wasn't so awesome to warrant the $38 cost. Regardless, we will be going back
The food was amazing and the wait staff was so kind. The woman at the front was a little snippy but other than that, it was well worth the money!
