    I would not recommend the wagyu steak. It was completely overpriced for the cut of meat our table got. About 1/3 of the wagyu was thick fat so that was disappointing. Other items we ordered were the 8 oz filet, rack of lamb and lobster all of which was well worth the price. They did make my daughter birthday special with a piece of cake and personalized message on the plate. Service was exceptional and ambience was nice.

    We was very disappointed in our visit to Mastro's especially since it was highly recommended. From the moment we sat down we encountered many issues. The waitress was training someone, so she was explaining the procedure to her. We were 3 of 4 (place setting), an issue in what was being removed and what should stay. While we were eating our appetizers, someone came over and wanted to remove the items while we were still eating. Two of us had grilled halibut, the servings were different, not consistent. The steak had to be returned to cook longer, then it was overcooked. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    We celebrated our 12 year anniversary here last night. Everything about Mastro’s was absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious! Superior! The best food I’ve ever had! I had the halibut and my husband had the 22oz bone in ribeye. Delicious and cooked to perfection! Our server Phillip was amazing and made wonderful food & drink suggestions for us. We will definitely be back!

    Still my favorite dc steakhouse. Upscale, but not pretentious. Relaxing atmosphere, great service (George was terrific), and top-tier food. The wild mushroom and black truffle gnocchi was delicious. And their famous butter cake is absolutely essential to your life. Steakhouses may not be considered fine dining, but Mastro’s DC is fun dining for sure.

    Always a “top rated” dining experience. However, must ask if there are additional costs to wait staff’s suggestions to menu items such as a “strawberry” added to cocktails, etc.

    The service was not the usual standard. This is usually my favorite go to steakhouse and yesterday the food and service was super disappointing. The filet steak we both ordered was very tough to cut even with my steak knife. The service felt like a casual chain restaurant experience, we were not attended to/ felt like we had to hunt down our server. All around very disappointing.

    Great food. However, we were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant called me the morning of asking for name of the person who’s birthday it is. They explained on the phone they would celebrate my party’s birthday by having a candle and name on the cake for desert. During desert, we never got a candle or anything for the celebration.

    First time back at mastros post-pandemic and the food honestly wasn’t very good. The cocktails and butter cake are the only things to write home about. Our main waiter Eli was WONDERFUL, but the rest of the service staffed definitely made the experience feel rushed.

    Had an enjoyable experience at Mastros! Would have given 4 1/2 stars out of 5, but that’s not an option. The ambiance was impressive, and our waiter, George, went out of his way to make our dining experience memorable. The food was delicious, but was a bit underwhelmed with Waygu. The butter cake was out of this world!!!

    We had a great experience at Mastro's Steakhouse. Our server was great and the hostess were extremely accommodating. The environment and energy were great. The lady singing last night in the lounge area over the speakers in the restaurant, really made it a vibe. Overall, great experience and I will be returning for future events.

    Set up the bar for an hour before dinner. Service amazing. Drinks were unbelievable. Appetizers were delicious. Our for dinner was as always delicious. The issue was the service! Extremely poor. Ask the waiter to take our table of five and split it into two tickets. Said he could not do it. Even ask the manager. I have a read the book called, shut up and listen written by the owner of Mastro's. His first chapter talks exactly about this! Heart teaching employees to say yes. His book is so good. I actually read it twice. Is the only book in my whole life i read twice. Had a huge positive impact on me and my company. I am baffled that he could not have done a ticket for three of us and a second ticket for two of us. His entire service followed his initial no. I have been to numerous Mastro's. Palm Desert, Thousand Oaks, Newport Beach. Been to each of them multiple times. This is the worst service I ever had. She's so bad it makes me think I may not be going back.

    Dined here Sunday for a celebration dinner and boy was it so disappointing. I am a frequent diner so I tookmy daughter, who had never dined there,for her birthday and from the start I felt like the waiter was rushing us. First off I ordered the chocolate martini only to learn 10 minutes later that they were out. Then we both ordered filets and asked for one to be medium rare and the other medium well. Neither steak was cooked as order and my steak was so charred that it was well, well done. Our setting was at 5;30 and they out of the brocollni. The last straw was that I had put in my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Our check was delivered but no birthday acknowledgement. My daughter only got dessert after I told them it was her birthday. It was such a disappointing dining experience! Even the piped in music sounded like we were in a shopping mall. The live music was fine. Do better Mastro if you my business.
