I met my friend at Mastro's for dinner. I started with elderflower martini and my friend ordered the Ruby slippers. Both drinks were good.
Our waiter, Christian, is good and attentive even though it was his first night as a waiter at Mastro's. We ordered 2 Wagyu Tomahawk steaks. Very pricey but so good. It took me a couple of days to finish.
I highly recommend Mastro's.
Great food. Great service.
Service was excellent and one of the better steaks that I have had.
Had a great time! Good food! Good Service! Gooda Atmosphere!
Service was SOOOO slow and only waiter could get us what we needed- all the other people running around couldn't bring bread, diet coke, etc. It was so strange.
We had a beautiful time. I wish the live music started sooner. The music is amazing. The filet was made to perfection. Thanks to the staff and chef
Mastro’s is an elegant old school D.C. steakhouse: dark wood, subdued lighting, superb service and delicious food. This evening, a duo was playing in the bar. Their playlist was eclectic and made for a soothing background. We began with the Colossal Crab Cocktail: a large serving of tender lump crab presented on smoking dry ice -- looked like something out of a Ridley Scott movie -- and served with a unique dipping sauce. My friend had a petite filet for her entrée, and I had an 8 oz filet. The beef was so tender. It was served with bone marrow butter. We also shared a side of roasted brussels sprouts. Our waiter pointed out that the sides were for four diners, so we ordered a half serving and it was plenty. We finished with a huge slice of pecan pie à la mode. This was the lightest pecan pie either of us had ever had. You couldn’t ask for a better meal!
We went for a birthday party. It started off slow because of our waiter but turned out very well.
Great time, great service & great food!
Too loud and for the price not worth it.
Food was great; however, the restaurant was only open for about an hour and yet the bathroom was filthy...completely nasty...out of paper towels and two trash bins over-flowing with trash all over the floor. For a $700 bill for a party of 3 people, I'd think the bathroom would be immaculate with even a personal attendant. I judge restaurants by the cleanliness of their bathrooms. Also, if folks see a dirty bathroom, they won't be inclined to assist in keeping it clean.
The waiter also screwed up our bill and charged me for someone else's food...on top of my own...and then need to run my card again leaving both charges pending!
Everything you look for in a great dining experience.
Excellent food and amazing service!
Service was great food was superb. Staff was very knowledgable
The made out anniversary memorable!!
Second Mastro's we visited and it did not disappoint!!! From the service to oustanding food, everything was top notch!!! Lisa had a "smoking" Lemon Drop martini that was great too! We asked the GM what Mastro's we should try next? He recommended Boston. I'm ready!!!
Service was fantastic, food met everyone’s expectations. Music was a little too loud for a comfortable business meal.
our server was amazingly attentive without being intrusive and he knew the menu inside and out, was helpful in choosing among many options. The food was outstanding--we were a party of 4 and had an assortment of salads, steaks, sushi, seafood and sides and one was better than the next. our cocktails were generous and tasty too!
We were pre-Theater. They took good care of us and got us out the door in good time. Excellent filets.
The issue I had was that my steak came out with it out the Oscar Style add on. So I had to wait for it and my steak went from being hot and sizzling to warm. Was not happy about that
Very excellent experience! The service was beyond belief! I give this 12 out of 10 stars!
The food was excellent and the customer service was superb
The steaks were tough and had no flavor. Very disappointed for the price we paid. The Brussel sprouts were good. I just expected the food to be more flavorful for this price point. I will say the service was exceptional.
Everything was really well done except for the bone in ribeye. Too fatty and the plate wasn’t hot. On the plus side the rest of the food was very good. We also enjoyed the music.
Always a great dining choice! Stephen. Danielle and Chef Scott...all incredible from my service, food, and being on-point. Incredible each and everytime we visit.
Second time coming and it was just as amazing as the first. Good and atopmaphere great!! Expensive but worth it.
The steak was phenomenal and so were the sides! I would definitely return to this restaurant with my family! There was live music, but it was not too loud!
Rice our server was fantastic. Took great care of us. Was aware of my husbands birthday and really was careful with my food allergy.
Extremely salty steaks
Always a first class experience. Simply fantastic food and service. Our waiter Hamyon was the best!
My husband and I enjoyed ourselves at the restaurant. The food was great absolutely delicious. The mood was just right. I was even happy that we were there to taste the delicious Pumpkin Butter Cake. A must have.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – We definitely would return to try more dishes. The steaks were amazingly tasty and tender. The table was split on the gnocchi – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Service was well-timed and friendly.
Although a chain steakhouse, this restaurant stands apart from the others in food and service. If you want your beef cooked as you ordered, if you want a cocktail that will impress, if you want service that excels then this is the place for you. Located a half block walk from the Warner and a two block walk from the National Theaters, it is ideal for pre/post theater. Several parking garages are close by and Metro Center station is a quarter block away on 13th St NW.
The food was outstanding. The service was top notch. We really enjoyed experience. Highly recommended. One thing, but we got used to it is the lighting.
Your waiter recommended butter on the steak. I agreed to try it, wasn’t really a fan. Turns out that butter was 15 dollars. Maybe recommend to the waiters to not imply that the butter is free.
The char on the lamb is overwhelming. It takes away all the flavors on the lamb. Unless you enjoy the rich smokey burnt flavor it was not tasty.
The steak and lobster mashed potatoes were amazing!!!!!
We had exceptional service, food was fantastic and the ambiance well we will surely return. Our favorite was the lobster bisque and presentation of the crab cocktail.
It is outstanding. The food is amazing and the service is always impeccable. Love this place.
