when you dine at a steakhouse, you expect them to cook your 8 oz filet mignon to Medium as ordered not RARE and cold, and have to send the filet back to the kitchen for proper cooking. then when the filet is returned to the table, it still hasn't been cooked properly and I wind up slicing of the top of the filet to at least have something to eat. Give credit to the server for trying to handle the matter, apologizing for the kitchen error, and taking the $52 cost of the filet off the bill. The Colossal Onion rings were super greasy and not cooked through. Would NEVER recommend Mastro's to anyone.
Kristy was our server. Our guests were late and she did not make us feel pressured which I truly appreciated. She orchestrated the entire dinner it was perfect. Thank you Kristy for taking such wonderful care of your guests.
The service and food was fantastic! I took my friend for her birthday and sat in the lounge area. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment as well.
Lemon drops are the best I’ve ever had.
The most amazing dinner ever! We don’t want to eat ever again because anything else we put into our mouths will never compare!! Expensive but so worth it. I recommend the sea bass pan seared medium. It melts in your mouth! Hubby got the blackened sword fish and it was super delicious. Oysters, crab stuffed mushrooms, creme brûlée, pecan pie and berries and cream finished off the whole meal...oh and a bottle of red wine. I would highly recommend!!
Celebrating wife's birthday at Mastros was very enjoyable and we owe an extra special thank you to our server April who made it a perfect evening for us! We will for sure request April to be our server again next time!
My birthday everything was great!!
I've eaten at Mastro's many times before and always enjoyed it, but this night my experience was a disaster. I took my GF to the Mastro's in Costa Mesa celebrate her birthday but the table they sat us at was crammed between two other tables with not enough space. Every time the lady sitting behind my GF move their chairs bumped; it was so close the other lady's hair would bunch up on my GF's shoulders. To add insult to injury, the market lobster my GF ordered came out undercooked. Unfortunately before I realized it, my GF had eaten the only edible part of the lobster, so I didn't complain, which is probably my fault, but I instantly regretted not complaining when I got the bill (the lobster alone was $120). I realize I should have spoken up, but on the other hand, when you pay $400 for a dinner for two, you shouldn't have to worry about undercooked raw lobster. I tried to eat the rest of the lobster so it wouldn't go to waste, but it was too raw so I couldn't eat it and ended up with an upset stomach for two days. My Wagyu tomahawk was delicious as were the sides we ordered. Still dropping $400 undercooked lobster didn't sit well with my wallet or my stomach, nor did we sit well crammed in next to two other tables. Our service was great, what you would expect from Mastro's, however our waiter never asked how our meal was. If he had I almost certainly would have told him about the lobster.
Fantastic service and food, but wow
My husband took me to Mastro's to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was perfect! The food and service is always fabulous but Jake made it all above and beyond! He was attentive, engaging funny and warm. From start to finish, it was all wonderful! The delicious butter cake at the end was the perfect touch to a perfect evening!
The service this time around was horrible. Very unexpected for a place like Mastros. The food was great though so we’d probably choose another one of their locations next time around.
Our waiter and staff were friendly and had excellent customer service. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, are seating area was really dark and since I have bad vision, it made it difficult to read the menu. When I asked if we could move, one of the staff members wearing all black with long wavy hair and an ear piece tried to convince us that we would get more light once the blinds would be moved....in 20 minutes. He assured us that it would get better. So we stayed, but we were disappointed that instead of accommodating us on my husband's birthday celebration, the staff would gives a hard time. Sadly, the lighting did not get better so my husband had to read me the menu and drink menu to me.
Thank you for your time.
Overcharged me by $100 for items not delivered
The architecture inside is unique to the other locations. The bar was hopping and drinks amazing.
Our waiter was amazing; service was stellar but don’t expect anything other than top notch. Everyone at our table as well as others were smiling and happy with the delicious menu selections to choose from. You can’t go wrong but save room for their Butter Cake.
It’s a phenomenal experience.
Perfect attendance without being intrusive.
Quiet table for conversation. Food is always superb and tonight was no exception.
The service wasn’t very good, took longer than usual to receive menus as well as items that were ordered. Also the food was undercooked, couldn’t even finish my meal. Honestly felt like it was a waste of money and ruined the special occasion.
As usual Mastro’s delivered great food, great service and a great experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
I had frequent Mastros in the past however, not with two (2) toddlers. It was my daughters 18th birthday and although I had my 1 year old, and my 9 month old nephew I didn’t want her to miss out on the experience. So when we arrived (of course late) we had a short wait. As we waited it made for a nice photo opt time with the help of the staff. Moreover, I was unsure how the babies would handle the ambience of the dining room (with every other restaurant we’ve attended something ended up broken or tossed on the floor) but to my surprise, we were seated in the bar area. It was the best dinner experience ever! The babies enjoyed the music, and they weren’t a distraction to others as they dined because everyone was talking and enjoying themselves as well.
Wow! Awesome experience!
Group beside us was cursing to loud, but everything else was awesome
Such a great time out celebrating with family. An experience we wont forget!
Second time here, did not feel welcome and it was very difficult to talk with all the drunken patrons. We ordered an appetizer and salad, it took an hour and a half to get through dinner. Service was slow. Cross this off my list.
Very Great Experience
The bar singer was phenomenal. Made the dinner much more enjoyable.
The food was awesome as usual only this time the server didn’t prepare our plates with our sides of potatoes and corn as in our past visits to Mastro’s, but overall we were very pleased
We had a delicious dinner! Food was prepared perfectly, extremely flavorful and seasoned well. Butter cake is amazing!
I usually dine at the Beverly Hills location but I decided to give this location a try. I was coming from 50 miles away and time wasn’t on my side. I am happy to say they were able to push back my reservation with no problem. I reminded them that I was bringing my fiancé there to celebrate his birthday and his name for the birthday dessert.
We arrived at the restaurant and was greeted warmly by the hosts. They were able to accommodate our preference in regards to seating so we were happy about that.
Mid meal I went back up to the hosts station and asked if the waiter would just bring the dessert without mentioning anything as I wanted it to be a surprise for my fiancé. They assured me he would just bring it out. They confirmed my fiancé name.
Once dinner was over, our waiter David, mentioned getting the dessert menu. I understand that this may be protocol however, I was under the impression the birthday dessert would come out first.
I told him that I wanted the butter cake. He bluntly asked, “so you want the an additional butter cake on top of the birthday one?” So much for surprising my honey, smh. There I sat confused and asked what the difference was and he said “one is free and the other one you’ll have to pay for.”
The birthday dessert came out and did not have my fiancé’s name on the plate. Another disappointment. Although everything else was good, the end of the night kind of ruined the overall experience. When our leftover food was boxed, they didn’t box the rest of our garlic mashed potatoes and shorted us on the asparagus.
I won’t be returning to this location. Valet is also horrible. They were tipped and didn’t even close the door us.
Great service and food can’t wait to go back😃❤️🥂
Cocktails and service were amazing and the butter cake is to die for!
Simply...truly a one of a kind experience. Our waitress was extraordinary.
Gas pack shorty
Everything we ordered tasted good except the boneless ribeye steak. It was super oily and salty.
My daughters 19th birthday celebration. Dinner then Shen Yun performance at Segerstrom.
One of our absolute best meals and the service was outstanding.
I love this place. Took my wife out for her birthday and we had an amazing experience.
This location is an exceptional dining experience combining great food with great service! Staff is courteous and knowledgeable and friendly- the food is vintage Mastro’s; great steaks an seafood , good wine and always great desert ; you will pay a bit more than most places perhaps but you will feel it’s worth it!
Dinner was excellent, room we were in was darker than usual
This was our first visit and we came up from San Diego to have a weekend getaway. The meal, wine, bar with Live Music was very nice and we truly enjoyed. We will be back.
Can't go wrong with Mastro's... However, it was too loud and our steak took a little over an hour...
It was a dinner with all my brothers in town. Honestly, it was a disappointment compared to the Ocean Club Mastro’s.
Always a treat to dine here. Great food, service and music. We dumped Fleming’s a couple of years ago for bad service and bad food. Mastro’s is now our go to steak house!
