We went there to celebrate my wife and I 12 year wedding anniversary. Dinner reservations were at 8:15 pm. We didn’t get seated until 9 pm. The host gave a BS excuse why they were running late. Ordered bone in filet in medium. Came out well done. Service from the waitress was A+. Horrible food. One star for the waitress only.
Great menu. Great bar atmosphere. Exceptional service. Steak prepared to perfection. Order the butter cake for dessert.
Ambiance, service and food. Was all excellent. A truly enjoyable experience on a Tuesday night!! Delightful. Competition for food and dining is tough in Chicago. Maestros delivers!!
We love Mastro’s. Our go to restaurant in Chicago for special occasions. We are excited to know that Mastro’s will open a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale soon. Being south florida residents, we can’t wait to go..BTW thanks to Omar our waiter for making our evening special
I fell in love with the establishment. Everything was amazing. I enjoyed the BEST mashed potatoes in my life. I look forward to returning in the near future.
I always enjoy going to Mastro’s. The food is excellent; but, the atmosphere is what makes this place. I prefer to have dinner in the lounge with the live music. You can’t go wrong choosing this restaurant for a great night out.
Had an outstanding 9 year Anniversary.
Our greeting was snarky from the blond hostess. Wanted to seat us upstairs. We were dressed nicely. Once steak arrived we had to flag someone down for the wine we had already ordered. Steak was tough for a bone in ribeye
In a city with so many fine establishments to eat, Mastro's is a go to restaurant in Chicago. From the creative "smoking" shrimp cocktail presentation, to perfectly charred steaks and generous cocktails it is the perfect place to take a date or spouse. Great for special occasions or just for taking someone special. Highly recommended.
Mastro’s is EXCEPTIONAL!!!! My husband and I went to Mastro’s this weekend for a date before going to see a play. We ordered the bone-in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection! The macaroni and cheese was phenomenonal as well. The service was wonderful as the staff is always attentive. We absolutely can’t wait to return. WE LOVE MASTROS!!!!!!
Exceptional service and food. Was a little loud for our business meal but everyone there seemed to be having fun. I will go back and would recommend to others.
The food was wonderful., however our waiter Parker was magnificent! He was very attentive, up beat, smiled, joked, he was wonderful! Great personality, Parker was the best waiter I have had in years!!!!! Request Parker
Delicious every time! Perfect bone in filet, and the martinis are amazing. Our server Jeff is always wonderful!! Perfect for our anniversary.
Valet service was not very friendly. Didn’t feel important, almost forgotten about. Took leftovers and the server bagging was rude.
“DON’T BRING YOUR CHILDREN THEY ARE NOT WELCOMED”
My wife and I have dined at a few of the Mastro’s in the U.S. Beverly Hills, Malibu, New York, etc .. The more upscale ones anyway . We are traveling from New York with our 6 month old and we were looking forward to dining at the Chicago location. Our son is extremely well behaved in restaurants being that my wife and I have been taking him out since he is only 2 months old. We arrived for our 6pm reservation and from the moment we arrived we did not feel welcomed. To start the hostess saw my wife struggling to get through the door as I walked in from the cold with our 6mo old. Mind you she was not checking in other customers. As we approached the desk the looks we were given as if we walked in with an elephant were extremely uncomfortable. The hostess, blonde hair Middle Aged woman, and the manager did not greet us as they were too busy looking at us confused or in disbelief for whatever reason. They let us know that the stroller would not fit in the dining area which was fine because not all restaurants can accommodate that and we were able to check it. As the manager stood there watching my wife fold the stroller with again a look of disbelief he then gave the hostess a look that he couldn’t be bothered with checking the carriage for us. .VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNWELCOMING! My wife felt very uncomfortable being there with our child but luckily our waiter Omar was excellent! He was very polite, and professional, the only pleasant thing about our $400 meal, being that the food was average at best. I would not recommend this Mastro’s. If you want great place for steak with great hospitality in Chicago go to GIBSONS. They are the whole package- great atmosphere, great food, warm, inviting and welcoming from the second you step foot in the door with or without children.
The food wasn’t that good. It was blend. It’s definitely not my favorite restaurant anymore after last night.
Food is excellent, highlight recommend the BONE-IN Ribeye...
The food was very good. It was for my Boyfriend birthday. And they didn’t even say happy birthday or anything like I see from other people from the reviews. So I won’t be returning for any special occasion. Nothing spectacular for the 200$+ dollar meal.
The food & beverages were delicious. The warm butter cake is the best item on the menu! Diego, our server was so attentive & helpful especially with our wine selections.
We were recommended this place and our expectations were exceeded. From the moment we were greeted and given a happy anniversary envelope, to the last interaction with out waitress. Food was out of this world, fresh and tasted delicious. My apple martini was 5 drinks in one, everything was amazing. Desert (butter cake) to die for. Coffee, fresh. Waitress Stephanie, THE BEST! Will return in future!!!!
Jason was great as always! Best service ever!
Wow. Best place ever.
Sorry, not impressed with the service we received or the food. It started with my reservation when I submitted my request for a special occasion (ie flower petals) and the young lady who confirm my appointment snidely replied they don’t do that. I decided to stay with this restaurant because it came recommended and was “equal or equivalent” to another restaurant (where i had also celebrated my fiancé’s birthday and roses were PROVIDED) I explained to our server it was our first visit and we were celebrating my 45th Birthday. She gave a quickened explanation of the menu, no chef specials explanation, no explanation of what the menu special ( difference between the different cuts of meat). I just was not happy. The food was bland, no seasoning and the presentation was unimpressive. For the amount of money we spent, I expected a higher level of service from our server, and flavor in my food.
Best 5th Anniversary experience I had .....the only thing I would have liked that our server didn’t do is to ask what was the occasion since it was our first dining experience but all in all it was really good food and drinks .....I will be returning hopefully soon
My daughters graduation
Appetizers — four gras and tuna tartare were excellent. Unfortunately, steaks were very mediocre, considering the price. My bone-in ribeye was gristly and bland. Crab topper add-on for wife’s bone-in filet was cold, and overpriced.
Service and ambiance were the high points. This is a very nice dining experience, and not the zoo you find at some of the other downtown steakhouses.
Absolutely fabulous!! Worth every cent. Can’t wait to go back!
It was my fiancé birthday,I reserved a spot on line. They called to confirm,I responded asking could they do anything special for her. They said sure we can think of something. Our waiter’s service was outstanding, food was a 10,ambiance was everything. We will be back for my birthday in the summer. We can’t wait😋😋
Our meal was fantastic! I had the Aspen ribeye and it was fabulous! It’s nice to see a healthy meat choice on the menu. The Aspen cut is antibiotic free. Sides were delicious too..mashed potatoes & brussel spouts. It was my daughter’s birthday celebration so they brought out a yummy chocolate cake. We had a fabulous waitress, service was excellent. Really enjoyed the evening.
Our server Kim was excellent and made sure we were well taken care of.
Wonderful service from everyone involved! We had our wedding dinner at Maestro’s and this was our second anniversary spent there- so three years in a row! This will be a continued tradition- amazing place!
The only complaint is the issue with the charges on the bill.
AWESOME Experience! I loved the food and the live music.
I love to drive into the city at least once or twice a year to come to Maestros to celebrate something special. The food, ambiance, service are all wonderful. We always have a great time. It's not inexpensive by any means; but well worth for that special occasion. We always have an awesome time and feel very "pampered" by your staff. The entire staff is always so welcoming and accamodating. We are happy to be living Illinois for beautiful Estes Park, Colorado however very are sad that we will not be able to enjoy visiting Maestros in Chicago any longer. It was a great farewell dinner! thank you
The only thing that disappointed me about this dinner was that it was for my birthday, and there was no acknowledgment of the event. I specifically indicated that the dinner was for a birthday. I even spoke to a representative of the restaurant that the dinner was for my birthday, yet there was no acknowledgment at all.
Always money well spent.
A tad disappointed in the service. When we told our server the soup was lukewarm, it was met with a lame “sorry.” For a $500 meal for three people, I would have expected a little more - a fresh bowl at a minimum. On the plus side, the server knew the menu well.
The wait staff is amazing and the food was delicious!!!
