What a joy to celebrate our 28th Anniversary at Mastro’s. From the lobster bisque to the Bone in KC strip steak , to the creamy garlic mashed potatoes- everything was outstanding. Our waiter , Parker , was absolutely amazing. Thanks for making this a very special dinner for us !

Honestly, was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. Literally sat down for 20 minutes and never saw a waitress to get our order for food or drinks. Like at the table for twenty two minutes exactly with just water and never encountered a waitress. Was so upset and disappointed that we left and went to another steakhouse which was a blessing to do. Would not recommend this place and would stay very far away. Staff was rude and non existent. The funniest part was that I was called by the hostess and told that the kitchen closed at 10pm and if I didn’t have my order in by 9:50, I would likely not be able to order food, mind you we were sat at 9:40 and by 10:02 still had not seen anyone to place an order for this 10pm kitchen closure, which was a total load of crap seeing that there were two other tables next to us who still had not placed their order. Honestly a terrible establishment and poor manners and work ethic from the staff.

Our portions were small.one person in our party had a filet and it was raw. He asked for it medium rare and it was rare. Just so Disappointed with the food. Will never go back. It was average at best.

We’ve been going to mastros for years. After this horrible experience I don’t think we will be back. My husband was the last to get his drink at the table. Waited 15 minutes for her to come back and say sorry we don’t carry that wine anymore. Even though it’s on the menu. She went back to get a different wine taking another 10 min to get. Mastros is known for their very hot plate that you can’t even touch. Well all 4 of ours were cold. My husband chose the Oscar style special for the day. What a total RIP OFF. it was a joke. Paid $110 for filet with like a tablespoon of crab meat on it and no asparagus. How do you not put asparagus on Oscar style? We complained to the waitress. All she said was we don’t do that here. She didn’t offer any compensation for anything. It was my birthday. Mind you I come to mastros for either my birthday or anniversary every year for past 6 years I’d say. Always getting the amazing butter cake for my free dessert. Well you don’t get that anymore. I got a small slice of cheesecake. Are u kidding me. I don’t even like cheesecake. Our bill was $700. And that’s what I get for my birthday? She knew my husband was upset even said you don’t look happy. But she didn’t do anything to make it right. I can spend less money at another restaurant with better food and service. I don’t know what happened to place.

Place is a very high end steakhouse. The steak was ok. For 60 dollars for a filet I would expect better. Sides were 30 dollars. Place is extremely dark . Way overpriced. Food good but certainly not worth the price

Hostess acted like she had a foot up her butt. She had a stank face for no reason. Super hot in the restaurant too. Plus seating was way too close, very loud you couldn’t here the person you were with. Long wait for waiter to serve you. However our waitress was what made the restaurant good. Food was way too overpriced for mediocre steak and mash potatoes. Steak was too chewy and would get stuck between your teeth. Overall, Mastro’s is an overrated, hyped, mainstream restaurant. There are way better places in Chicago than this.

Always a great and excellent meal! This is a must visit when in Chicago and worth saving up to enjoy it! Their Sea bass is out of this world and that’s from someone who doesn’t typically like fish. Their lobster Mac and cheese was unbelievable!

Ordered the bone marrow was very disappointed. it was extremely difficult getting the marrow out of the bone. I have bone marrow in several restaurants it always came out like butter. i did let our waiter know of my disappointment he did bring another order, but it was just as difficult. so, if you really know your bone marrow i would suggest save your money here. I also ordered the Sea Base and was disappointed with it. I will say others in my party did order steak and loved it.

Strike 1 - Wasn’t offered the option to sit in either the lounge or dining room, was automatically sat in lounge. Strike 2 - Hightop table in lounge kept wobbling Strike 3 - Lounge act was way too loud, could barely hear each other talking, also the music selection was not typical lounge music suited for a high-end restaurant. Strike 4 - Filet was charred on the outside, it was requested to be done medium but the outside was charred. If I wanted a burnt steak I could do that myself. Strike 5 - Roasted brussels sprouts had zero flavor, had one, tried it and left the remainder of the dish. Rethink your seasoning recipe. Strike 6 - Sauteed mushrooms same as sprouts, lack of flavor. Strike 7 - Gave this place a 2nd chance after first time didn’t have a good experience, so decided to give it another chance.
