Birthday. Service was great as usual. Food was excellent. Entertainment was mediocre.
Bone in filet was a bit over cooked.
A little loud and busy for an upscale restaurant.
My only negative comment relates to parking. Rain was predicted and appeared before we needed our car. We were in the rain because the awning area where patrons await their vehicles was too small to accommodate everyone waiting. The lot is significantly far from the restaurant that it took a good 15 minutes for our car to arrive (not enough outside staff while there were many employees standing around inside the restaurant). Besides, we left just in time to avoid a fight between a customer and the parking attendants...really???
Service was spot on. Food was delicious. We ordered the wrong thing and they brought they right one and also gave us the wrong we ordered on the house. Best service ever!
Service was attentive and professional but the quality
of our food was mediocre, no better than mid level chain steakhouses. The space is extremely noisy and not conducive to a business dinner. Tables are spaced uncomfortable close together for a restaurant at this price point. I’ve dined at Mastro’s several times over a couple of years and I think the quality of the food has declined on each visit.
Service was great except the front desk/receptionists on the first floor. The receptionists did not have any customer service what so ever. They were just like robots. Other than that, awesome vibe and food. Will come back!
Birthday for boyfriend
Amazing food! Amazing service!
Wonderful as always. Shared a steak salad cocktail and dessert. Enough for two with reasonable appetites
Not bad . A little loud . The foods is good .
Excellent atmosphere, very happy and live place. The food was brilliant, I loved the Lobster Mash and the cream spinach. The steak was good. Yummy.
We had an 8:30 reservation, arrived 20 minutes early. Grabbed a drink at the (totally packed) bar. We were not seating until 9:20... almost an hour after our reservation, for 2 people mind you. Luckily our waitress was exceptional. The food is always great but waiting to eat that late really dampened the mood. I had the reservation for weeks. I don't know if I will be visiting that location ever again.
Food was fantastic and so was the service. My friends and i loved it
Amazingly awesome food and service experience but a bit to crowded and way too loud. At these prices you expect more of an intimate dining experience.
Food was good. Waiters were slow with drinks. Food was still gotten to.
Love the music and ambiance. Am the food was tasty. My husband love the place cos it was his birthday.
I've been to one other location, but found this one in Beverly Hills better. The service and staff were most genuine and attentive without being annoying.
Amazing food with excellent service! Great atmosphere with live music!
Wonderful steakhouse! I’ve been several times and tried different cuts, they’re all fantastic. The sides are delicious too, and they have a good selection of drinks. The place is a bit loud for my taste, but you can still have a normal conversation. Highly Recommended!
I like Mastros, however this restaurant is so dark that EVERY single patron was using their phone to see. When we had the phone off we could not tell the difference between the mushrooms and the brussel sprouts. I will not come back to this location.
Great atmosphere and live music. The bone in ribeye was delicious. Service was up to good steakhouse standards. No real disappointments.
That 2nd floor dining room is my favorite. I loved being there and it's always a party, walking in the door! the Kansas City Bone In is my very unlady-like favorite and the butter cake is a sin. To many people waiting to get seated at the entryway. felt uncomfortable but that was all of 20 seconds. The rest... a party!
We are frequent fliers to Mastro's, mostly the Costa Mesa, Laguna and Palm Desert locations. This is our first trip to the BH store and loved it. We made reservations on Open Table and despite the place being absolutely packed, we were immediately seated. Service was spot on from start to finish. We absolutely wanted for nothing at anytime, our server and her assistants were PERFECT. Food was wonderful. Our only complaint was our steaks were both ordered Medium - Plus and were served Medium Rare (Ribeye) and Rare (Filet). Since we were on schedule for a concert, we did not have time to return the items to the kitchen. Definitely will return to this store.
The steaks are great, as you would expect, but the crab claws and king crab legs are on a whole different level. It's as if it was a completely different animal or food. I have had my share of crab thru-out my life and what they serve here is absolutely I credible... Everything else is as great as is should. Did I mention the crab? Awesome!
Mastro's always comes through with delicious meal selections, quality, and great service. We always start of with the seafood tower, crab legs, shrimp, oysters, and caviar. This sends our taste buds on an all high happy level. My choice as my main meal on this particular evening was the sea bass. The portion is considerably a bit too big for me, but other than that scrumptious. The live entertainment they provide for all diners sets you up for an unforgettable evening.
We had a fantastic time celebrating my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. We were supposed to be downstairs but ended up upstairs where it was super noisy. The service was great and they welcomed us with saying happy birthday to my boyfriend. I would definitely go again (when I save up).
Overall had a great time there. The only thing I would change, they do a follow up call to make sure your reservation is still good. I have been here plenty of times, but the person on the phone proceeds to tell my fiancé what is acceptable attire. No jeans, sandals, tennis shoes, etc.. They shouldn't say anything if they are not going to enforce the policy. I saw a lot of customers with Jeans, Tennis Shoes and women in sandals. With that said, had a great time there and food is always great.
LOVE THIS RESTAURANT..I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS WHENEVER I COME TO LA.
Nothing like what we expected. Thought it would be high end ambiance but not. Somewhat dated. High noise level and difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was very good. Wait staff knowledgeable.
Most likely the most amazing steak restaurant I've ever been too. The wait staff is incredible, knowledgeable and super friendly. Thank you so much Mastro's!
They utilize as much space as possible for seating so it can feel a bit crowded luckily it wasn't at capacity. In that regard where you're seated can make or break your night depending on your situation. It was moderately loud so I did had have to yell at my sister a bit. The lighting is very dim so this perfect for a romantic date night or... catfishing. Which, made it hard to read the menu and see the person across from me but really set the mood, upbeat but relaxed. The dinner menu was to the point, my sister and I were able to select an entree almost right away. The drink menu was extensive, wines galore, they have a great selection of cocktails as well which took the longest to decide on. We both ordered the petite filet with brussel sprouts and fries, everything is à la carte and the sides are sizeable enough to share. I don't recommend the fries lol but I guess you shouldn't order fries at a fancy restaurant anyway. The steak comes on a piping hot plate which I liked because it kept the meat at a good temp to eat almost fresh off the skillet hot but not hot enough to burn your mouth, not for me at least. It was very tender and the seasoning just right. We capped off with some Grand Marnier. All in all we left the restaurant laughing and in good spirits.
Nice anniversary dinner. On this occasion, Mastro's was packed. Enjoyed Oysters Rockefeller before moving on to Spinach Salad with Warm Bacon Dressing and Lobster Bisque (me), Tomahawk Rib Eye Steak, Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus (hubby). Ended with Butter Cake and Pecan Pie. Delicious from start to finish. Jose made our dinner even more satisfying. Ask for him and you won't be sorry.
Food is superb as always. Finally was seated in the downstairs area. I have been here many times. Upstairs its way to Dark. Come on guys, turn up the lights. It is way to dark. Otherwise the best steak in Los Angeles.
Sea Bass, scalloped potatoes, bone marrow and especially that butter cake was unreal. The staff was even better, I forget our servers name but she was very genuine and made sure everything was awesome even though it was extremely busy. (Short blonde hair) :)
There is no steak better than a steak from Mastros. They have the absolute best beef. The service is always attentive and top notch. It’s a little noisy but the food positively overshadows any noise aversion. This is one of my favorite steak houses but the other menu items shouldn’t be overlooked. My go-to’s are the sautéed shrimp appetizer (dipping that bread in the sauce is one of the tastiest things!). I also enjoy the Mastros salad. You can’t go wrong with any of their steaks. The mashed potatoes or lobster mash is a good side choice along with any of their vegetables. I’m also a chocoholic however I can’t turn down their delicious butter cake for dessert.
Love Love Love this restaurant!
We normally go to the Malibu location which is spectacular. Food was similar quality but the service was less attentive in Beverly Hills. Dining room had multiple squealing kids which really put a damper on the experience. Valet was $12 and waiting on a cold evening on the curb for 10 minutes really convinced us to go with Malibu in the future.
Sorry to say I did not enjoy it at all. I recently ate in Chicago which I found the atmosphere to be so different. We were placed in the corner of the restaurant at 5:30pm. The restaurant was so dark I could barely see the people I was dining with!
Veal chop was dry, Kansas City steak with peppercorn sauce was dry and not tasty. Bread delicious, crab cake delicious and my wife enjoyed her whitefish.
Awesome experience!!!!One of my all time favorite restaurants!!!
