Mastro's Steakhouse - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
I love Mastro's steaks! This place makes dining an experience, not just a meal. Everything we ordered was delicious, my only complaint was that my steak had been sitting in the kitchen too long and had cooled a bit, and they didn't serve it on the 400 degree plate they usually do, so I have to take a star away for this flaw. This restaurant is too expensive for any mistakes.
That said, I'll be back because overall I really enjoy eating there!
Excellent service with food cooked to perfection. The filet was so tender and the lobster mashed potatoes were delicious. They also make great cocktails. Absolutely love this restaurant and highly recommend it! Very consistent as this was not our first time dining.
So disappointed. I've had a few great experiences here, but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. First, it was so dark, you can't even see the person sitting in front of you, you can't read the menu, you can't see the food you're eating. When I asked the waiter why it was so dark, he said to make it more intimate. Someone should tell the restaurant that people are there to eat, not have sex. Because of my previous experiences here that were well, I will come back one more time in a few months. Very disappointing and bad experience today.
I was a little disappointed in Mastros. My C hilean sea bass was grilled and for the first time in my life I didn't like it! It was oily and totally unseasoned; my friend's bass was better pan fried. Our green beans were good and the signature dessert was good, although overly sweet.
The restaurant is loud enough, and this particular evening we were sat next to a VERY loud party of four. To make matters even worse, the man seated closest to her (in the party of four), began hitting on my wife. It made her incredibly uncomfortable. She didn’t want me to make a scene, so we just ignored him. Honestly, just a bad night at the restaurant. We will be back again, so I hope next time is better.
Never thought I could have a bad meal at Mastro's but one of the fish entree dishes (halibut) that we ordered was burnt. Staff brought back another piece of the halibut that was then almost raw. By the time the fish plate was replaced, my steak was cold. This was an Anniversary dinner, so we were sad. To be fair, the manager came out to talk with us. He was very cordial and removed the charge of one entree and the cocktails. That was classy!
My steak, and two other steaks at the table, had to be sent back twice. They were removed from the bill and the manager otherwise made adjustments to account for the inconvenience, however three of us left hungry and it was a birthday celebration, so not ideal. Have historically had good experiences here, so this was shocking. Wont be returning any time soon.
My favorite Steak house. I love to come here special with my people that I love. I love to share my favorite place with them . Great service, perfect place and yummy food, awesome dessert with their whipped cream made. Definitely come back for sure. Really high recommended
We came to Mastro’s Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday and we made a reservation for 9:15. We were seated an hour after our reservation, but they totally made up for it by seating us in a quieter section of the restaurant which we wanted and they also gave us a complimentary appetizer of our choice. They were very apologetic and kind throughout the whole dining experience. The server was very knowledgeable in the menu and was very quick to provide anything we needed. At the end of our meal, they even brought a complimentary beautiful chocolate piece of cake with raspberries to celebrate my birthday, which was totally unexpected. Mastro’s goes above and beyond in their customer service and it was a treat to have had such a pleasant dining experience.
The food was amazing but the noise level ruined it for me. You can’t talk to the person across from you. I wouldn’t rule Mastro’s out completely in the future, however, I think I’ll only visit again if it is just my boyfriend and I alone and we can sit next to each other and have a conversation.
Upon arrival we were quickly ushered to our table, without having to wait more than a couple minutes. Considering how busy it was, that was a great sign.
We ordered an Ahi Tuna appetizer on crispy won tons, which was delicious, the Heirloom tomatoes and burrata and the lobster bisque were also very good.
For the main dish we ordered the 12 oz filet and the bone in Ribeye 22 oz. with brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. The filet was good and cooked as ordered, the heated plate might want you to order it rarer as to not overcook by the time you make it through it.
The Ribeye was on the tough side but still very good.
The brussel sprouts were way to salty and the sweet potato fries seemed to be coated making them tasteless but crispy.
As this was a birthday, they brought out a slice of chocolate cake with a nicely decorated plate which was very nice and thoughtful.
Overall it was good but not something I would go back for, as I believe there are better places that are cheaper.
Overall a great experience with outstanding food. A little too noisy to hold a proper conversation unfortunately. Also service was mostly fine but kept interrupting us and forcing us to order and get going, which is never pleasant. Given the amount of food and the price, this is not a place where you should expect customers to be done after 45min!
