Mastro's Steakhouse - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was over-crowded and very loud! Could not have any semblance of a conversation. Tables were 6 inches apart with waiters bumping into diners. Dishes lingered on tables far too long... the restaurant is over-reaching, trying to accommodate too many people for the space and waitstaff.
The food was very good, and plentiful, and the waitstaff friendly. Good live music on the second floor. Great experience if you are dining alone, horrible if you want to converse with your company.
Took my wife for her birthday and we enjoyed ourselves, great food, great service, goood atmosphere and drinks..i had the doublr cut pork chops they are so so good..wife had the steak with the truffle butter that she is still talking about..they both were melt in in your mouth tenderness..and sides were both good..this place is highly recommended from me..and we live in steak country..TEXAS..and thats the best pork chop and steak I've experienced yet..
Debra our waitress was very inattentive and inefficient. She only talked about a couple of dishes on the menu while the other waiter serving the table next to us talked about the different types of meat, what’s popular on the menu, wine pairing and he even talked about what’s the best dessert. Debra couldn’t even care less nor did she make us feel welcome at all. She was totally unhelpful. Tables are too close together not allowing private conversation at all. Mastro’s is expensive and totally not worth the price. Go somewhere else or you’d be sorry you went to Mastro’s.
The place was overcrowded I felt claustrophobic. We were seated upstairs where it was very dark. People were constantly using the flashlight on their phones to take pictures or to see what was on the table. Those lights would get into my eyes repeatedly so it wasn't the best experience.
The noise was so terrible. We had to shout to hear each other from two feet away. The live music band played poorly executed pop cover songs that sounded off key and rushed. Because the music was too loud, people had to talk even louder.
We ordered the lobster bisque, chefs cut ribeye, and the wagyu. The bisque arrived last and only because we asked why it hadn't come out. The steaks were decent but I've had better. For the absurd price, the food was not worth it. My favorite part was the pretzel buns they had in the bread basket.
It was my boyfriend's birthday so they gave us a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. That was nice. The servers were great.
Overall, I would not return. It's not my kind of restaurant.
It was our 9 year wedding anniversary and Mastros is a place we usually go for special occasions as it is very close to our home. This night the restaurant was very busy they put us in a two top in the corner which was great but the table next to us was very close to another large round table so their chairs barely had enough space for our waiter or servers to get to us. Basically my husband had to pass our plates over the head of the man next to us in order to clear our table for the next course. So annoying and they offered to move us to a not as good table so we said no. Then to make up for it they gave us a pice of chocolate cake which was very nice gesture but the cake was not good. It was like they jusr defrosted it so the frosting was crystallized and strange. Overall we were disappointed
I specifically made a reservation for Mastro's, not the penthouse because we were having dinner with friends and actually wanted to hear what they were saying. Unfortunately, we were still seated upstairs. I don't understand why it's an option to book in one or the other, but the restaurant doesn't respect the reservation. Sadly, it made the experience much less enjoyable.
It was my birthday we drove all the way from Glendale my daughter ordered boneless Rib-eye they did not have it but they did not say anything time of taking orders they brought her with bone she said this is not her order waiter again didn't say they don't have it, she said she is going to cut and take off the bone she said no waiter said we have to wait another 30 minutes even though we were not happy but we said OK after while the manager showed up and said they don't have boneless I asked her why you did not mention since beginning we could leave because that't the only thing my daughter can eat. She was trying to convince my daughter a 12 years old who had almost crying to eat something else. Manager had no nice voice or conversation, she was keep saying what you want me to do?? I said nothing just be honest and tell the truth since beginning, anyway our evening turn to sad moment as we were all watching a 12 years old sad girl who dressed up drove an hour to celebrate her mom's birthday!!!! No sympathy and no extra ordinary plan to make the customer happy, we did not even have a dessert, then with very harsh voice the manager offered us dessert to go!!!! I said no just let us leave, my family was so sad specially my son and his girlfriend who she was with us for a first time to have some fun!!!! after all the manager took off a $100 from our bill but vary harsh and no smile or no apology or something to make us feel better, we hardly touched our food as my daughter was sitting and watching us with wet eyes. Then manager offering her card for next time if I will go there or I will recommend the restaurant to my friends!!!! I typed all the details on my Facebook to my friends and families who might need to know about your service, you lost a very good customer and her group of friends who might be you customers in a future, I even called corporate office next day and today is the 4th day and no one bothers to return my call yet, I hope someone read this comment.
It was OK. Expensive. The service was disappointingly slow. The Caesar salad was poor. The lettuce was all smashed up and not at all crisp. The crab cakes were OK. The steaks were very good although the plates were too hot. The mashed potatoes were good. We told them on -ine this was a special occasion (anniversary) but they paid no attention to that!
We were visiting from Asia and chose Mastro for our only steak dinner night! However, it was chaotic when we got there. Our table reservation was at 845pm but we didnt get seated till 9.10pm and did not get our dinner till 10ish.
The entire restaurant was very loud with a band playing. The table seating were so close to each other that we have no privacy. We can literally reached out to the table beside us. It was also so loud that we cant have a decent conversation and had to shout! It would also help if the restaurant has more light. We can hardly read the menu and see our food.
F&B wise, the cocktails are strong and good. We ordered the Tomahawk. It was decent but not the best I've had. The best in the house are the sides i.e. shoe strings fries and creamed corn!!
My wife and I dined here for her birthday. The service, food and overall experience were all excellent. This is a great restaurant for celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. The staff was courteous and attentive, the portions were incredibly generous, and the food was delicious. Thanks for making my wife's birthday so special, Mastro's!
I was really excited to dine at Mastro's for my boyfriends birthday, it was the first time for both of us. Our server was great, the food was also delicious but the problem came at the end of our night. Their payment system at the table was fine, we paid our bill and continued with dessert. The server then came back and told us there was an error with the payment due to the system being new, so we provided our card again. The manager came to the table and apologized even though we were completely fine... turns out they charged our dinner to my card as well as my boyfriends card and also billed us for someone else's table. He said the charges would be reversed and the bill was taken care of. My boyfriend & I thanked everyone and once we got outside walking to our car the server literally CHASED US DOWN IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT stating there was another misunderstanding with the payment, we followed him back inside & made a THIRD payment. It was extremely embarrassing and super inconvenient, I understand these things happen but should not happen 3x in one night. The manager was very apologetic and gave me his business card promising $100 bill credit on my next visit which I hope he sticks to because I would like to return and hopefully leave with a more satisfied experience. Between my boyfriend and I, we still have 3 miscellaneous charges pending from Mastro's waiting to fall off. Loved this place but please do better.
For the money you would think Mastro’s would make sure they would offer exceptional service. Think again, I overheard a server tell a customer that there are many steak houses but you go to Mastro’s for the experience.
Nice sales pitch except you will get a better experience at Fleming’s and much better service
Everything was exceptional as usual our server Tyler was perfection!!! We always always enjoy mastro’s And we always come back on every special occasion and just because too! The only glitch this time was all the bus boys were extremely slow in clean up and looked inexperienced nd lost it took them forever to clear our finished dishes or to bring hot coffee or to clear the table our server Tyler was doing soooo much and no bus boys were assisting they need to be told! Thank you see u soon!
My family and I picked Mastro's for Thanksgiving Dinner this year (2017). We knew nothing about the restaurant but had read the reviews, so Mastro's it was. We were seated upstairs which was a mistake as they have a live band in a room with hard surfaces and a low ceiling. It was so loud (think roadhouse levels), I couldn't hear myself think or my sons talk, so I asked to be moved. They were great and moved us downstairs right away which was much MUCH better! The food is excellent. I ordered the 8 oz. filet mignon and it was superb. It was very tasty, perfectly done, and so tender. One of my son's had a porterhouse and the other had the swordfish Cajun style - both of them loved their dinner. The mashed potatoes were delicious, more like a puree, but with just the right amount of garlic. The asparagus was also yummy. And then we ordered dessert and coffee. The coffee cups are about 2 normal cups' worth (fine by me), and rich. The desserts were huge. The only one that could not feed three was the creme brulee. The cherry cobbler was roughly the size of Rhode Island and was delicious; their special butter cake with ice cream, berries, and strawberry sauce was large and packed with flavor and would have been enough for all of us. Cost for the 3 of us each with a cocktail, no appetizer, no wine, an entree plus dessert was slightly over $100 each. Would I reommend Mastro's? Absolutely! Just ask for a table on the first floor!
The food was fantastic. Main course meats may seem expensive but worth the price. Sides are huge, meant to be shared. Plan to spend $100+/person for drinks, appetizer, meal and dessert. Our waiter, Tyler, was the best. Public parking across the street 2 hours free.
