Mastro's is overrated. I was at the Simi valley restaurant last Saturday and BH for my son's birthday Tuesday night. The noise level is intolerable and you cannot have a social conversation unless sitting next to each other. The filet is really just ok and for the price, nothing to brag about. Service at both locations were slow so much that our French fries was cold and looked stale. The place is packed but my value star is 3
very disappointed. The salmon had to be returned and came back terrible. The portions are tiny and the prices are huge.
They brought the steaks before the salads, and resequenced the order. However, when they brought the steaks back again, it was dry and not as flavorful as they let them sit and reused it. It was a good place for steaks, but the quality and service are degrading over time.
Food was great. Very attentive servers.
Food and wine was delicious! Service was excellent! Very enjoyable evening with my wife and daughter..
Great vibe food and drinks
The food was excellent, the drinks were delicious and the service was awesome! The overall experience made my birthday that much more special so I will definitely go back again. By the way, the dessert birthday butter cake they served with ice cream was delicious!
The restaurant has me stand and wait for more than 30 minutes for the table I had reserved.
The Kobe beef was cold and uninteresting.
The meal was great, but they charged us $9 for bread without letting us know there was an additional charge & they brought us the wrong dessert, which they said was complimentary since we were celebrating both of our birthdays, but then proceeded to charge us an additional $14 for a whole cake that was huge & way too sweet for either of us! We gave our server a 20% tip, which he didn’t deserve. The additional charges kinda ruined our whole experience at Mastro’s.
This place remains my all time favorite spot for a good reason. Best food and best service around.
Used to like Mastros. It’s taken a nose dive. Steak was cold, the place overcrowded and loud, very disappointed
I've been here many times and unfortunately it's hit or miss on getting the temperature of a steak right. I asked for medium and it came out very rare. I sent it back, they re-fired it, and it came out medium-rare, at best. I settled for it. Nailing temperature on a steak is the last issue you want to find at a steak place. There are a couple other great steak places in town where this is not an issue and I will go back to those before returning to Mastro's. I do very much enjoy the atmosphere here downstairs where the noise level is manageable. This visit was also tainted by some diner punching out a glass picture of James Dean outside the men's room shattering glass everywhere and bringing bouncers en masse to escort him out. Obviously not the fault of the restaurant, but a bummer.
Classy place to eat and enjoy dinner with a companion. The food is spectacular.
Excellent find with great food, cocktails and wine choice. The portions are big so you need to be hungry!
Service was slow (refilling water) and it took longer than normal to get my food. When it arrive it was fantastic.
Great service!
The food and server were amazing. The ambiance was way to loud. I am used to a place being energetic but this was bordering on ridiculous. Also, a fight broke out. People were being rude to the servers. This was one of my favorite steak houses but now it seems like they let any scumbag into the place. It's sad to see such a wonderful place turn bad. It's not the restaurant that was bad, or the service but the people coming there to eat. The other thing I would like to see there is a better selection of american bourbons.
It was my best friend’s belated birthday. Our server was wonderful. We had a great time.
I have been to Mastro’s a handful of times and normally I would give it five stars on all aspects however this particular evening didn’t hit the mark. Our waiter was friendly enough however he acted as if we weren’t that important and didn’t spend a lot of time going over the menu and options with me and my guest and my guest was here for the first time. It kind of felt as if because we had originally suggested splitting a steak that he gave us less attention and was less friendly. He wasn’t very helpful in deciding on sides and portions considering there was only two of us and typically all of the entrées and sides and appetizers are quite large and would be excessive amounts of food. I ordered the French onion soup which is usually a very big favorite of mine however it was slightly more than lukewarm and was not very warm by the time I was halfway through it which was a bummer. My steak was cooked correctly and was warm however it had a lot more connective tissue than I’m typically used to and far more than I would expect from Mastro’s cuts. All in all I’ve been to Mastro’s before and it was amazing and I’ll probably come back however this time was just disappointing. This place is usually very active and it wasn’t terrible but there was a very large party next to us that was quite loud which was disruptive and made it very hard for us to be able to talk but this isn’t something that I’m not used to at Mastro’s.
Better than the competition. A little more expensive that other steakhouse chains but you taste the quality difference.
I love this location. Everything is always to par. Food is the best, service was great!
Thank you Mastros!!
Had family Thanksgiving dinner this year at Mastro’s Bev. Hills. We like the 2nd floor, always our first choice - great scene, lots of fun. Everything was fantastic as always.
We had a great time with our friends and family for thanksgiving
Very Disappointed in my Thanksgiving Day Experience
Thanksgiving dinner
Amazing. The food was delicious: no surprise there. For a Thanksgiving dinner, I would do it again and again.
Fantastic as usual ‼️
Great food and atmosphere. When we arrived, the restaurant had just opened for dinner so it wasn’t crowded. The only downside of my experience here was that they sat another table of 4 right next to our table “a little to close for comfort”. I feel like a restaurant like this should take things like this into consideration. Next time, we will definitely be requesting a more private table.
Delicious food, DELICIOUS food. The service was amazing! The ambience was nice, the lights are a little too dark. You can’t read the menu very well and everybody has their cell phone lights on. Also, your tables are super close to one another, making it a little difficult to get up and down hard.
Food was great, service not so much!! Beautiful and fancy restaurant though!
Fantastic service and meal! The setting was beautiful, the live music was amazing. Our table neighbors were even polite and fun to chat with. Our server DANNY, was absolute helpful and very kind, he deserves some type of recognition! Also, the busboys and the people “in between” were on it, they removed our cups and plates on a timely manner. The hostess (can’t remember her name) were beyond nice! Overall, a beautiful experience!
Danny, thank you! You were extremely helpful and polite. Thank you for the nice cake!
Best steakhouse in LA.
The food and the atmosphere is great, the service is superb as well. The recommend chef cut rib eye is juicy, and the chocolate pudding cake with whip cream is the perfect ending. Will definitely recommend to others when they visit Beverly Hill area
Always a great experience. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. I had the chicken this evening and it was unbelievably good. And of course the steak is always amazing.
Service was terrific. Cocktails and wine selections were great. However, my medium filet ranged from well done on one side to rare on the other. Unfortunately, this (steaks not cooked as ordered) has happened several times in my last few visits.
Good experience - we were a bit rushed with entree coming too soon.
I recently celebrated my birthday and the total experience was EXCEPTIONAL. When making reservations I requested very specific instructions, for example, an area in the venue calm and quiet for an intimate setting and for staff to kindly bring out butter cake for the group to share. Rob was our main server and he made the evening pleasant, relaxing, and thoroughly explained the menu and it's specialties. I couldn't imagine spending my birthday any where else- thank you so much!
Muy buen lugar para comer delicioso y pasarla bien. 100% recomendado
The best all-around steakhouse . Our family’s favorite restaurant for celebrating special occasions.
Awesome. Great food, solid wine.
