Mastro's Ocean Club - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic food and service in a great venue with an outstanding vibe. Professional wait staff that know how to make the dining experience very enjoyable. Although we ate in the dining area of the restaurant, the bar area was stunning and very inviting. Will make a point to dine there next time. If nothing else, exert discipline when ordering your meal as you must make room for the Butter Cake.
We had a 6:45 dinner reservation for my husbands birthday and we waited and finally got seated at 7:45 pm and hour after our reservation. I requested a window by the table and instead got seated in the middle of the restaurant smashed in with a bunch of people. Certainly not the best birthday dinner that I had hoped for. The manager didn’t say a word. There was no apology nothing done special which was a huge disappointment. Thank goodness we had Micky she is a great waitress. I think Mastro’s need to evaluate the manager at this location. The old one would never allowed this to happen. We weren’t the only ones this happen to. We use to love this restaurant but other than Micky and good food it was not a good experience. I would say now that the snowbirds are coming back if you thought about going here I would wait until May when everyone’s gone
Oysters, heirloom tomatoes and burrata, steak, baked potato , mushrooms and spinach. No suprises, just really great quality food. Drinks were good. Service was over the top: everyone was professional, helpful, knowledgeable and just plain nice. Ambiance was also a highlight. Great vibe, beautiful space. Food was delicious. Would love to go back and explore the menu.
This was the second time we've tried this restaurant and again we were disappointed. The service is very slow and inattentive and the food disappointing. We ordered 6 each of the raw oysters available and several were so small they shouldn't have been served, let alone charged for. The lobster bisque was luke warm, the halibut was overcooked as was the lobster tail. It is unlikely we will try a third time.
The steak I ordered was rare and I ordered it medium plus. Sent it back but by the time it returned the rest of my party was almost finished. Steak was now very charred. I wasn't interested any longer . Didn't make a fuss because I didn't want to spoil the groups experience. Very inconsistent service at this location.
We were in Scottsdale for a birthday weekend and thought Mastros would be the perfect place to celebrate. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its reputation. Go to Joe's Stone Crab or Gibsons, both in Chicago. There, you'll find remarkable service & food.
Paying over $300.00 for a dinner for two people, where you're treated like cattle and no one takes a coffee or dessert order is sad. They just lay down plates without asking if anyone would like dessert or coffee, and have staff drop off a piece of Birthday cake, like here.. have your cake. Puts a bad taste in your mouth, like it's not your birthday. Well it is, and you could care less about making your guests feel special. We'll celebrate in Chicago next time. Won't be back to Mastro's.
This was a first visit to Scottsdale and to Mastro's. It was an outstanding experience! The service was excellent, and the food was superb! They have stone crab claws, which we haven't had since we moved to Tucson from Chicago. We chose them as our appetizer and they were beautifully served atop an ice-filled bowl with a choice of three sauces. Our favorite is the mustard sauce. My husband had vanilla battered dover sole as his entree. It came as four slender fillets, and was delicious. I ordered the surf and turf in the form of a petite filet and a vanilla battered lobster tale. They serve Kobe beef, and it was delicious. The lobster, however, was mushy under too much batter. I related this info to my waiter and to the manager. They promptly brought be a replacement broiled tail that was superb. Side-dishes are a la carte. We were tempted by the lobster-mashed potatoes but order the roasted charred brussell sprouts. Next time, I would order them less charred. Their signature dessert is a buttered pound cake. It was delicious! We will definitely be back.
We had the crab cakes as an appetizer and it was excellent. My husband ordered the halibut and it was very bland. I ordered one of the specials which was grouper and it also was very bland. The brussel sprouts side dish was quite greasey. For what they charge it was disappointing. The people were very friendly and courteous.
Superb old school style supper club. Impeccable service by charming wait staff. Beautiful bar with live music. Romantic and lovely restaurant. The seafood was amazing. Fresh and expertly prepared. Excellent martinis and a great wine list. Pricey but a fine dining experience.
Awful. We were seated and handed the menu and wine list. And then we did not see our waiter for 20 minutes. We left. We had a cocktail at the bar beforehand and they were understaffed as well but made the effort to let you know that they were jammed but trying. Not so in the dining room. Will never go back to a Mastros, any Mastros, again.
The service at Maestro's Ocean Club (and other Maestro location) is always impeccable. It is truly a pleasure to dine at a venue where the art of fine dining is core to the restaurant's very essence. The ambiance is welcoming and lovely, and the layered wait staff is very attentive. One small item to note is that Sunday's seafood selection can be limited, based on reduced availability. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion, or quality business dinner.
