8:45 reservations and we weren’t seated until 9:15.
We dine at Mastro’s for special occasions and they never fail to disappoint! The food is out of this world, the service is top notch and the location is spectacular! We will be coming back many, many times in the future and would recommend Mastro’s to anyone!!!
Best steak I’ve ever had and I’ve had many !!
The room we were seated in was VERY, VERY loud. Had to have a conversation!!
Mastro’s is an exceptional restaurant. Definitely on the pricey side, but worth it for a special occasion. The wine list is excellent. The steaks and seafood entrees are fabulous, as is the sashimi appetizer. I love this restaurant. It is nice to sit in the bar area and be entertained with the music.
Robert our server was amazing!!! Food was delicious.
Excellent food and service, but just too expensive.
Mastro's is our go to restaurant for steak. We've tried all the top rated restaurants and nothing beats masters. Our favorite is the Kansas City Strip (NewYork bone in), but you can't beat the filet either. Other favorites are their martinis and margaritas. For side dishes, we love the mushrooms and mac & cheese. On the healthier side they have great seafood, and green beans or brussel sprouts. The pretzel bread is another favorite and the butter cake can't be beat.
Wonderful night go early to see the view! Food was great. The butter cake is the best!
We were celebrating 2 birthdays. We were seated outside on a pretty private patio with the beach view. Such a fun evening and not rushed at all. The inside of the restaurant was packed and loud. So glad they seated us outside ❤️
Lived up to the billing, and yes it's expensive, but as with many things: you get what you pay for. Truly a "fine dining" experience in all aspects from food to service to ambiance.
First time in California and it was a must to enjoy a great meal with a view of the water! Even though we ate lightly, the flavors weren’t missing, and the complimentary Birthday/Graduation butter cake was DEVINE!!!
If I could write just one word for my review it would just be “Fabulous”
Had tuna tostada, chopped salad, ny strip steak, onion rings and Brussels sprouts. Overall, good, not quite as good as usual but it was fine
We had Travis take care of us and his level of service was exceptional. Food was as always consistently above average. It was a little noisy to start due to a large table nearby but they quickly cleared and we had a great evening. Excellent food and drinks.
The food and service was 4.5 stars as always in a Mastro's restaurant however the noise
level was very high. We could barley hear each other talk. Believe it or not, the bar was
much more quite . We have seen this in other reviews for the Ocean Club. Mastro's in Costa Mesa is not as loud
Always consistently good. Our go to steak and seafood restaurant.
Our wait staff was more than nice to us and very caring for our dining experience.
Great food! Pricier, but very delicious! My husband’s steak was cooked wrong but the waitress more than made up for it.
Went to celebrate our anniversary. Arranged to have flowers delivered prior and they were on the table when we arrived. Overall staff was very accommodating. Our server Bret was great. Food (both had the Filet) was delicious. Bring an appetite if you get sides and dessert. Family portions which is more than enough for two.
Travis our waiter was very good. The food was also very good. The bar area service was very slow and the area was packed to the gills. We felt the crowd at this location was a bit stuffy but other than that it was another good experience at a Mastro’s.
While the food was good. It was very loud, crowded, and because it was a busy night I believe the attentive service that Mastro's is know for fell short of my expectations this time. I think I prefer the Mastro's in Costa Mesa. Not sure if I will be back anytime soon. Our service team was friendly, they just had way too many guests to serve in the standard patrons expect for a fine dining experience.
We were celebrating our 7 year Anniversary and Mastro's did not disappoint. Travis, our waiter for our last two visits, is fantastic. Personable, attentive and made us feel at home. Would highly recommend a visit and, as everyone already knows, the Butter Cake is AMAZING.... but i would recommend having it with the ice cream or it can be overwhelming. ENJOY!
We had a large group of 12, some from the Seattle area. None of us had been to Mastr's before and were celebrating 3 birthdays that included 4 children under the age of 12. We were greeted warmly and were seated with ocean view. Our server was informative and we asked for recommendations. 2 couples shared the Tomahawk cut and everyone was astounded at the size and quality of the meat. We ordered several appetizers and were surprised at the generous size of servings. We also ordered several side dishes that were served to us. Everything was beautifully served and tasted great! The broiled prawns were gigantic and cooked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the birthday honorees shared their chocolate cake with everyone at the table. Truly an incredible meal and service. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for its service and food.
I have gone to Mastro‘s on several occasions and the food has been exceptional, except on this occasion where my steak was undercooked. I asked them to put it back on the grill for a few minutes and they overcooked it
It was good, just wish you could hear the pianist from out seat. Also would be ideal to have lights outside to see the ocean.
Great as always. Awesome location and set up. Well Done Mastro’s. Highly recommended!
Although the food was excellent it was just way too pricey. I frequent Ruth’s Chris and Fleming’s Steakhouse several times a month and the cost difference between Mastros and the other two just wasn’t worth it. I took my father there as a request for his birthday.
We booked the Easter brunch 2 weeks
Prior for my family. Our reservations were for 1:15 PM.
We didn’t get seated until 1:46 PM. They were serving brunch until 3:00 PM, therefore because of them overbooking we didn’t have enough time to enjoy and eat. By the the time it was dessert, they were missing so many items and said they were done making them. I’m very disappointed in Maestro’s NewPort Beach.
We have been for dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences but Easter Brunch was truly disappointing, especially for the price. We like trying out different brunch spreads and we've definitely had better variety at other restaurants with unlimited champagne and at least 1/2 the cost of what Mastro charges. Our waiter was very nice and friendly but extremely hard to get his attention, the table next to us stepped in to help us flag him down. The ambience was lacking since they try to pack in as many patrons as possible.
The best part was the seafood tower, great quality and very tasty but still not worth the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed Easter Brunch. The service was impeccable and the food delicious.
A magnificent seafoood spread, frankly did not make it past the seafood and delicious tenderloin. Not sure what else was there, but everyone looked happy and satisfied
Marstro’s Ocean Club is our family celebration restaurant plus my husband and I dine there regularly. However, this was our first brunch! It was supurb! EVERYTHING! The food selection, our wait staff, so many choices of food...some new because we were doing brunch but still many of our regular menu favorites. The best part was that we did not feel rushed...it was just my husband and I and it could not have been a better meal or atmosphere for us for Easter brunch! We understand it is only 3 times a year, and we will be back! Our thanks and appreciation to everyone!
Fabulous food, service couldn’t be beat and it made for a wonderful Easter! This is a great restaurant and we will be going back for another meal!
We appreciated the great service.
I booked a special reservation for my significant others birthday dinner, which I specified on the reservation. We had a reservation at 8:30. When we arrived at the restaurant it was overcrowded and extremely loud. The hostess seemed to be in an awful mood and was letting it affect her professionalism. I tired to ignore this, but it was exceedingly hard to ignore having to wait 30 minutes for a table when we had a reservation. Once we were finally seated, right next to the door in a busy walk way, we were not acknowledged by our waitress for another 20 minutes when she brought us our menus. She gave us our menus and rushed off promising to be back soon with fresh bread and to take our drink order. She never came back to our table. The only time we saw her again was when she came to take the orders of our neighboring tables, all of which were seated significantly after us. Overall, it was extremely poor service and we ended up leaving since we had been there for an hour and a half without our waitress even taking our drink order or bringing us bread. I would NEVER recommend this particular Mastro's location to anyone. (P.S. I only rated the food one star because it wouldn't let me leave a review without rating the food category. I don't actually know how the food is there because we never got our order taken.)
Great food and service like usual! Mark is an excellent waiter!
Damon was an excellent server. The food and ambiance were wonderful!!
The food and service was excellent and met the exceptions of other recommendations
Mastro's could not be nicer. Food is wonderful, creative and displayed perfectly. Sure it is pricey but I don't go here every week (or month). This is Disneyland for dining. Don't consider the value, consider the experience and enjoy yourself, I did and I am planning on going again... later this year.
