Mastro's Ocean Club - Malibu
Everything is always delicious, but it's impossible find bad food at these prices.
Dylan Guardia was our server at the Malibu location. He was top notch! Great personality, playful and on top of his game. I highly recommend having him as your server.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the beautiful view. The crab cake was delicious but the Maine Lobster egg Benedict was not so tasty and slightly warm. However, I enjoyed my experience.
Excellent from the second we walked in— everyone knew it was my birthday, as soon as we sat down we were greeted with menus. One server asked if we wanted sparkling, tap or bottled and within 10 seconds we had another server arriving with our water. Food was amazing, view of the water was beautiful, and they came out with a butter cake without me even having to tell them that’s my favorite. I’ve been to Beverly Hills, but this one is far better!
I recently celebrated my commencement from graduate school at Mastro’s in Malibu and my experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the gorgeous ocean front view at our table to our delicious dishes prepared to perfection, Mastro’s exceeded my every expectation. I highly recommend Mastro’s for any special event or when you’re craving a 5-star steak with service that is second to none.
Nothing like the other Mastro’s. Yes, the location is amazing but that’s about it. Service was very bad. Food was just okay for brunch. There is also a $22 valet fee. Second time at this location that our order was messed up and bad service. I would not recommend this location,
Friday night dinner date! Perfect place to be. Great food and bottle of wine!
Was an amazing experience with great service, great location and great food!
the ambiance was really good but the food is somewhat ordinary.
The mac and cheese were hard and the Brussel sprouts were burnt.
I would come back for the view but not for the food
a perfect night in a perfect place. I already knew the restaurant, but the Malibu venue is beyond expectations
First time there. Everything was wonderful I loved it.
We always have a wonderful experience at Mastro's Malibu. Food, service, view, ambiance, all above and beyond.
Always love this place, however food was not up to par this time. Seems they couldn’t deal with the Mother’s Day rush
The service from the valet to the servers was excellent. Knowledgeable and genuine on a very busy Mother’s Day. We were running behind with traffic and they were still accommodating. Their internal communication was seamless and all customers appeared happy. There was a live band that was so good that I thought the music was recorded. 152 Miles round trip and worth it!! Sea bass (wife) and a filet for me perfectly marinated and the crust was perfect! But the butter cake (GUILTY PLEASURE) Compliments all the way around!
Food and service was excellent! I took my wife there for Mother’s Day and it was an excellent choice; Michael was our waiter who made our dining at Mastro’s Ocean Club a wonderful experience. In addition, what was a pleasant surprise is that Mastro’s provide a military and veteran discount of 30%.
Great food. Beautiful location. Service was super hectic and sadly wasn’t that great for our first time there. I understand it was Mother’s Day but I’ve been to other restaurants who were not as chaotic as here on a special day. Service was very slow. Waiting area was crowded. People are as attentive because they are trying to get people in and out. I was told we’d only have 1 hour and a half at our time to accommodate the next reservation. Didn’t feel very welcoming. It’s not a cheap meal and I wish the service had been a little better. I’d go back for the food but probably won’t book this place for special days/holidays.
My family eats at Mastro's Malibu every year in Mother's Day (we also go throughout the year). The service was the worst we have ever experienced. I understand that it was a busy Mother's Day, however, to wait up to 15 minutes just for our bread to arrive was just the start of a meal going down hill. The lobster bisque soup was amazing, but not much was given.
The meal itself always stands out as being DELISH!!! Not once did our server come back to see if we needed anything. I had to ask several times for my glass to be refilled with water. Not cool at all. The dessert menu took forever to come out as well. My reservation was for 4:30 and we did not leave until close to 7:30. And we were not lolly gagging. This all attributed to wait time.
Really love it and will be back soon and I will ask for Christiana next time she was excellent and love what she do and went above and beyond and truly appreciate the service. I truly recommend and come back over and over again!
I picked this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day with family and, while it was crowded, the staff were always attentive, friendly and professional, the food was AMAZING (the shrimp cocktail was a spectacular surprise show itself), and the ambience was perfect. Portions were plentiful, and I noticed most people walked out with leftovers, so if you are concerned about price, just think about how you will be able to enjoy truly delicious leftovers the next night!
It was such a nice experience to celebrate Mother’s Day at Mastro’s! The service, food, and atmosphere was awesome!
Cramped table next to the kitchen door. Steak was wildly undercooked and gross. When I sent it back, it came back charred. Overall, the dinner pretty much sucked especially for $1100 for 6 people. Oh, as a bonus the bill had $30 of un-ordered stuff. Check your bills!
As I already wrote once... too loud and waited 20 minutes after being seated without menus
Ocean view, dolphins swimming by, beautiful restaurant, excellent food and service. What more could you want? This is a special location and Mastro’s pulls it off with flair and panache. Enjoyed a wonderful Saturday brunch of omelets and NY steak and eggs from the menu. Topped off with creme brûlée and coffees. Treat for sure.
Lobster was still frozen and had no meat. Steak was overcooked. Asked for seating closest to the window and was told it wasn’t available even when I made reservations ahead of time and the tables were open. After us 2 couples got seated in that place. Not sure if it was discrimination or what. Server was nice and butter cake was good
Max and Ernesto were amazing. Above fantastic service.
As always, food, service and ambiance were great! Never disappointed!
Normally love Mastro’s but was treated poorly and seated at a bad table despite the note in my reservation made months in advance to sit by ocean. There were several open tables by the ocean. Hostess was difficult to reason with. Great food though, as always!
Don't over stuff yourself with appetizers, because the food is so delicious.
Very nice meal and attentive service. Good wine list but a bit overpriced. At $12 the valet parking service is overpriced.
Every time I ask to be seated by the window I’m told it’s not a guarantee so how do other people get to sit by the window?? Do I need to change my last name to Smith ? I am a regular customer so I keep you in business right? That’s all!
We’ve eaten at Maestro’s several times before and always had excellent food and outstanding service. With the exception of the food, this visit was sub-par. We were seated at a table towards the back and near the kitchen which meant the entire meal was interrupted by waiters and bus boys constantly passing by with food and dishes. The meal was akin to dining in a crowded cafeteria. The food is good, but we won’t be returning for a $200 meal if it means sitting near the kitchen door. The lesson here is that unless Maestro’s can guarantee you a window table in writing go to another restaurant.
I've eaten at Mastro's in Las Vegas and in Beverly Hills. I felt the food was much better at those locations. The view is wonderful, but I was disappointed in the taste of my meal, for that reason I wouldn't recommend it. My brother was visiting from AL so we brought him here for his birthday. I was disappointed in the service as well. In my reservation I asked for a booster seat and a high chair, when we got there they asked us if we wanted those things at the table before we were seated, what a silly question! Yes of course we do. Where else would my 1 and 3 year old children sit. It was just not the level of service I'm used to from Mastro's.
The concierge at my hotel recommended Maestros as an outstanding restaurant for a exceptional dining experience and he was not wrong. From the moment we appeared our presence was acknowledged and we were made to feel as if we were special guests. We were promptly guided to our ocean-view table and from there the attention we received was just right....not too much, not too little....and the wait staff appeared as if by telepathy.
The drinks were professionally delicious, bread amazing, the appetizers and main course were fresh, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The wine selection was recommended with no drama or condescension. (If I was a serious foodie I could offer specifics, but I’m not)
I intend to return the next time I’m near LA.
Usually a dinner spot for us, but gave Sunday brunch menu a try. Lucky to get a window table and had a delightful brunch. Lobster benedict was tasty, enjoyed the roast beef hash, and kids liked the burgers.
Eric our server was impeccable and the food was excellent!
A perfect Special Night Out!
Amazing service and view. The food was also top notch and delicious.
The food is amazing the view is gorgeous. Totally worth the money.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The location right on the water makes for some of the most beautiful sunsets. The food and service is excellent. Great for any special occasion.
