Mastro's Ocean Club - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Great food, very fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our server, Samantha, was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent suggestions. It was a very calming and relaxing 20th wedding anniversary dinner filled with wonderful cocktails, food and of course great company. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
For me this restaurant is defined by the butter cake dessert but the food is great also. I had the garlic mash potatoes, mushrooms, and bone in ribeye. All was cooked to perfection. It was a monday night so the restaurant was about 60-70 percent full but even with a slow monday our service was poor. It took 5 minutes to see our waiter for the first time and we were not provided menus when we were seated. I expect better service when im attending a fine dining experience. I tipped the waiter reluctantly because he truly did not deserve it.
The atmosphere is amazing. Our waiter was one of the best we have ever had anywhere. My lemon drop martini was served over dry ice so it smoked and bubbled which was fun and it tasted great. Two of us had fish - Chilean Sea Bass and Grouper and one had the petite filet with two crab legs. The crab legs were huge - the meat was tender and sweet. The filet was perfectly prepared. The fish entrees were also excellent. The fish was fresh and moist. We plan to go back the next time we are in Vegas.
Let me preface by saying that Mastro’s is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas and maybe overall. The waitstaff is usually very attentive. The managers are detail oriented and seem genuinely concerned about their customers. The ambience is typically wonderful. The waiters and assistants stroll around as if they don’t have a care in the world. The food is always wonderful as are the libations.
However, we had never dined on a Saturday evening until two days ago. The restaurant was at capacity and maybe over. Waiters and assistants speed walking around like bees. Major spills, F-bombs, and eye-rolls observed of the staff. They were stretched too thin. The tableside service suffered. We felt rushed. Appetizers, food, and desserts came up too quickly. The music was too loud. We had a totally different experience. Whereas before, I didn’t have a problem paying $500 for a fine meal for four people, I had a serious problem this time around.
Bottom line, we still absolutely love this restaurant. However, we will never dine again on a Saturday as I suspect this is their busiest evening by a long shot. For reference, we’ve been there on every other day of the week.
Love Mastro’s. The jalapeño sashimi appetizer is better than Nobu’s. It’s a little different to be in a mall location. Service was good but a little slow—we couldn’t have dessert bc we ran out of time before the show we were seeing. Overall, great—as usual.
Read reviews on the Sea Bass. So, Three of the four of us ordered it. Disappointed... all over cooked. Sides- gnocchi, lobster mash, super good! Seafood tier... ok. Environment was pretty but loud loud loud! Server was terrific! She was the highlight of the dinner!
My husband and I had dinner here a few nights ago and we loved the scallops and the amazing butter cake. My husband’s fish was very much over cooked, but they quickly replaced it. The service was terrific and I loved sitting in the treehouse. I would definitely eat here again without hesitation.
