We had a group of 8 people, hoping to be able to join in table wide conversations. The noise from the live piano player/singer and the poor acoustics made it impossible to hear anyone other than the persons sitting immediately to either side of you and directly across the table. I was unable to hear the waiter announce the specials of the evening even though he stood at the end of the table and I was two seats away from him.

The food was good, but extremely expensive.

What a wonderful evening. The hospitality provided by our server Val was first rate. He anticipated all of our needs beyond my expectations. Cannot wait to visit again, as my daughter has moved there and we will be back frequently.

Service and food was amazing! We started with the crab cocktail which was delicate and delicious. We had the crab cakes, filet with bacon, halibut and swordfish. Every meal exceeded expectations.

We were so pleased to go to Mastro’s here in Boston after visiting a number of their locations in the US. As before and always, service, ambience, preparation and delivery is perfection for a wonderful evening. The staff was over the top celebrating my Birthday! What an unexpected delight. A Birthday card signed by the staff was delivered to the table where we were seated by the front window observing the sunset. After a splendid meal, a beautiful slice of cake with candle and very large bowl of fresh whipped cream was delivered. THANK YOU so much! We will return!

Came in on a Monday night for a birthday dinner with two friends. The hostess was an absolute pleasure, very kind and professional. We were sat quickly and were greeted by one of our servers and his assistant. Bother were pleasant and offered their recommendations. Drinks were delicious, I had the Dream Berry Martini which was a little on the sweet side but not overwhelming. Wedge salad was phenomenal and we shared the stuffed mushrooms which were fine, a little fishy with the Alaskan crab stuffing but tasty overall. The 8 oz filet with Truffle Butter was out of this world delicious. Cooked absolutely PERFECT. The sides were also great, creamed corn, garlic mashed and Gorgonzola Mac and cheese. An espresso martini and chocolate cake for the birthday girl were both fantastic and the birthday card signed by our servers was a very nice gesture. Having been to many different steakhouses in the city, Mastro’s is absolutely my favorite and I will definitely be coming back!

Not great. Waited 40 minutes before our order was taken. Getting wine took a while too. Meat was in over cooked for medium rare. Snap peas were great. I ordered chopped salad without cheese and it came with cheese

Just a lot went wrong.

The service was stupendous. Each server was very attentive to our table. I can't say enough about the food. We ordered an array of different foods and none disappointed. The filet was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Good service, delicious food and a great view!

My rack of lamb first came out too rare. Then the lamb came back overlooked and burnt. The mgmt gave us complimentary dessert instead of taking off from the check.

We had the best service we have ever had. Our server made us feel like we were his number one priority. They had the best espresso martini on my list of restaurants in Boston. To top it all off we ate dinner next to a table with a bunch of Patriot players.

We asked for more bread...never came. We never got our water glasses refilled for entire time while there. They forgot our brussel sprouts and we were served desserts and had to ask for utensils. We say management visit neighboring tables and by pass us and I saw some tables get hot towel service. Found it odd how some patrons were privy to this and some werent. This was first time I bought my cousin so She didn’t know any better but it was a little disappointing for me because I know this is not Mastro’s standards. I’m use to exceptional first class service, that’s why I go there. This was not one of my better experiences.

The previous Mastro's experience I had was at Scottsdale, AZ and though Mastro's is a chain, it is suprising how different the experiences were. It was Boston Restaurant week so our group was expecting a more crowded restaurant and a limited menu to get the good deals. The room our table was in was very crowded and there was a loud, rowdy group of college students across from us. We were surprised that behavior was allowed in the restaurant. Additionally, our waiter was impatient, pushy, and rude. The service was chaotic as well. We received our bread after our appetizers and the way the team distributed and moved plates was very disorganized. After the appetizer, 3 out of the 6 of our bread plates were taken away and we were all missing our butter knives. Every course we received our silverwear 5 minutes after the dish was served which was different from any other fine dining experience I've had. As for food, I had Tuna Jalapeno sashimi, a 6 oz petite filet, King Crab Gnochi, and the butter cake. The sashimi was mediocre, comparable in quality to an American sushi bar restaurant, the steak was cooked amazingly and was seasoned well but had a little too much salt, the King Crab gnochi was awesome great cheese and well cooked pasta combo of chewy inside and slightly crispy on outside, and the butter cake was amazing just as I remembered from Scottedale. Overall, food quality was great, but the service was dreadful. This is suprising because my experience in Scottsdale was amazing. Though Mastros is a chain, it is surprising the differences in quality at the 2 locations. The Scottsdale location had a very intimitate service where they would guide you to "your" perfect dining experience. The Scottsdale location called you a few days after your meal and checked if everything was okay. They cared, when it was clear that Boston Mastro's Oceans Club did not.

Very disappointing experience. Table was not ready when we arrived. We waited 15 minutes and then were walked to a table by the bar that still had dirty dishes. At first we awkwardly stood while the hostess argued with the bar about who should clean the table. After a few minutes we excused ourselves and walked back to the hostess stand. After some time we were seated again at the table by the bar but she did not give us menus. After about 10 minutes the bartender came over and gave us menus. When we finally ordered our entrees we ordered two sides and the bartender said their sides were large so she recommended half portions. We assumed these half portions would still be served family style since I did not plan to eat on due to an allergy to dairy. When the entrees came out each had a small dollop of each side on top of each other so in the end I was not able to eat either. Overall it was a terrible first experience from start to finish. I would not recommend going back.

Given the prices charged, one would expect that the dining experience would be stellar. Sadly not true. We were put at a table that was literally in the pathway of the kitchen. We then were moved to a table that was so close to the pathway that our dining colleague had to continually duck her head not to be hit. The steak were very good but I had sea bass which was just ok. Again, give the prices, the experience should be more than ok

Ordered the 8oz Filet and it was probably one of the best filets I have ever head. Extremely tender and flavorful.
