Lobster Mashed Potatoes
My girlfriend and I had an awesome experience. I’ve dined at other MASTRO locations in the past and have to say the Boston experience was the best of the best. Apps and drinks were out before we even settled in properly which is great, the waitress and other staff were phenomenal. I really enjoyed having conversation with the men’s restroom attendant Sully as well, he was a great man and we spoke about mobile Alabama. Looking to come back pretty often and enjoy Mastros Boston.
Ambiance, food and view are wonderful. However, the highlight of our night was the server Yenney. She was amazing. She had us fun and had us laughing. She was very attentive and honest. She deserves an award. It was our first ladies night since Covid and she made it memorable. Thank you Yenney
Wonderful experience! Our server Robert was fantastic and the entire meal was perfect. We will definitely be back!
Didn’t know we have to pay for bread. Never looked at the detailed receipt before.
Oh well. Its a good bread. But everywhere is complimentary
A little too loud for me.
Food was good
Service was very good
AMAZING FOOD AND VIBE! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Server was Allen and he was very attentive and pleasant.
It was our 25th wedding anniversary and Mastro’s was so good to us. We had a terrific table and wonderful service by Arthur. The food was amazing and drink menu fantastic. A great experience!
The food was good but more expensive than other steak houses (e.g., capital grill). The steak was very good, sides and salads were good, crab cake was not good. Our waiter was impaired or terribly distracted - but something was off with him. He abruptly walked away from us (a party of 6) three times while taking our orders to attend to something that was happening across the room. When we asked him where the bathroom was he directed us to the kitchen. When he poured a glass of prosecco, he poured it into a wine glass rather than the champagne glass that was right next to it (no one was having wine). It didn't really matter to me - and he realized his mistake 10 minutes later - but just odd. He gesticulated wildly at one point and accidently poked one my dinner companions in the face with his pen. He apologized profusely (honestly we felt badly for him because he was so embarrassed) and offered us a free desert. It was all just so odd.
Much of the clientele was on the young side, not dressed for an elegant steak house (women in skin tight short dresses, stiletto leucite heals, casual dress for the men). Even the background music was more hip and present day - presumably to cater to the crowd they draw. A very "night club" kind of feel. Mind you we were there for dinner at 7 - this was not a late night meal. Much prefer the more elegant feel of Capital Grill in Boston or Chestnut Hill.
Again - the food was good - but not better than other steak houses (Mooo for example is another great one). And prices were high. It was my first time here - and honestly, I think it will be my last.
It was my girlfriends birthday. Robert was our server he was great and the imperial caviar was impeccable.
We had high expectations for this restaurant. The view was perfect. The service was very good. Our waitress Yeni was very informative and helpful and took very good care of us. It was our wedding anniversary and she served us a complimentary dessert beautifully decorated.
The raw oysters from Wellfleet were clean fresh and delicious. The crab cocktail was a favorite with perfectly mixed cocktail sauces.
The rack of lamb was a bit over cooked to medium when medium rare requested. The grilled swordfish was overly salty. The twice baked potato was cold and not all the way cooked. The bread basket was delicious. Their signature sweet butter cake melted in our mouths.
Overall we expected better and fir the price would not recommend this restaurant.
Quick service, nice staff, great food. Pay for what you expect to get.
The food was great, albeit expensive. The location was spectacular since we ate outside . However the service was very poor and slow, I found it difficult to figure out who was to do what. Our waiter was difficult to understand and seemed to be put out if we asked him for fresh water or anything else not relating to taking the order. And when I asked him about the sediment in my $120 bottle of wine he said he’d decant it, but he didn’t use a sieve so there was a bit of wine left in the bottle...money wasted.
We were excited to be trying the restaurant out for the first time after hearing many great things. But we did not have a great experience. Poor service, felt rushed as soon as we sat down. Drinks were not good either. Our meals weren't bad though.
Truly amazing food and service. We were so happy with our choice to go to Mastros for our anniversary celebration.
Celebrating high school graduation. Exceptional service. Outstanding food. Highly recommend!
As always, the food and service were excellent. We arrived with our teenagers and got placed in what appeared to be the kids' room so I was little doubtful at first, but the service was just as fantastic as any other table.
Favorite steak and butter cake
Amazing food and great ambiance. Piano player and our server were fantastic.
We celebrated our 15th year wedding anniversary here and it was the best experience ever! The hosts greeted us with “Happy Anniversary “! Everything I requested was delivered to our table at the perfect times. The waiters congratulated us and even the manager came over to make sure we were happy. Everyone was so friendly, personable and professional at all times. The food was AMAZING! We had lobster tails, rack of lamb, garlic mashed, Alaskan crab gnocchi and lobster cocktail for appetizer. All so delicious. The atmosphere was perfect, not too loud, we had a beautiful view of the harbor and we received cheesecake as our anniversary gift, what a nice bonus to a perfect evening 🥰 I was blown away by the attentive staff and we watched how happy and pleasant they were with the other patrons. Thank you Mastro’s for making our perfect day that much better. 🙂🥰
Great food, service and view from our outside table.
Entire experience was excellent. Felt special, was impressed with all the sides and the level of attention to detail. Excellent venue to make an impression on your guests and or day!
I was celebrating my birthday early and had some friends out of town come to visit. Mastros was the perfect place to not only celebrate but show my friends what Boston has to offer. The staff, the food, the ambiance , and the reception was everything. I loved every minute of it
Everything was perfect. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The only thing was it was very noisy.
Sea scallop were very small in size
Shrimp cocktail were slimy
No acknowledgment on dessert plate for our anniversary while others in dining room had
The food and the staff were fantastic. It was incredibly noisy!!! We were there to celebrate a graduation and we had 3 generations and all of us thought it was super noisy. Also, yes it’s on the water but many areas/tables with zero view.
You pay a steep price but receive perfection. Drinks, apps, meals, desert and service. All perfect.
Lovely on first night of no masks. Great singer. We love our servers, esp Tiffany
Food and service both excellent very very loud quite a pace to be seen!
Went for our anniversary. The food and drinks were delicious. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and provided great service.
The service was outstanding; the food was so delicious- the halibut was the best piece of fish I have had in 30 years. Worth the money. Birthday treat dessert was very special too. Excellent!!
Wonderful time. Beautiful view. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious.
Celebrated our 32nd anniversary. Everything was perfect!!
We had just gotten engaged on the beautiful Harborwalk before celebrating at Mastro's. I had called ahead and they had a bottle of champagne waiting for us on ice with two flutes on the table. Hector made it a super special night, gave us a complementary dessert, and wrote on the champagne bottle and made it a souvenir for us.
Aside from that, the food and ambience was exceptional. So happy we chose Mastro's for our special night.
While they share a similar menu, Mastros Ocean club has very little in common with Mastros NYC. The Ocean Club was loud, chaotic, and messy. The bathroom attendant was selling loosie cigarettes while there was dust and hair all over the bathroom. The hosts were uninviting, and walked us to a table that was not yet prepared. After circling the dining room a second time we arrived at our table covered in bread crumbs. The room noise was deafening and overpowered any "live music" for the evening. While the views are pleasant, go to NYC for a better Mastros experience.
Everything came out cold even the hot plates came out cold had to send all the food back to get reheated mastros in New York is a lot better
Due to Covid, restaurant opens exactly at 5 on Sundays. If you arrive early you have to wait outside.
We love Mastro's, we have been for date nights and special occasions and held a small party in a private room. The service is exceptional, Arthur and Mario are our two favorite servers. The food is outstanding and cooked to perfection. The cocktails are expensive, yet large and expertly crafted. It is one of the top-restaurants in the city. Great for dates and business, crowd is mostly 30-50 years old and well-heeled. You won't be disappointed.
Amazing. My host was funny and entertaining. Love Mastro’s.
