Excellent! Great food, great service
Business dinner holiday celebration. Noisy, service was slow and while our server was very helpful and focused when interacting with us overall not aware of the pace of meal. My lemon sole was over cooked and dry. Side of lemon caper sauce was anemic. Presentation of my plate looked like it was dumped on the plate. Wine was good along with the drinks.
Everything was excellent but I could. It hear myself think in there! It’s not a quiet gathering place.
Grab the Hudson Baby Bourbon before it’s gone!
High quality food (we had Sea Bass and fillets prepared medium rare), solid execution and great service. Save room for dessert and try the butter cake! Highly Recommended for business dinner or special occasions.
This was by far the best overall experience I’ve had at a Boston restaurant so far. From the moment you walk in the staff goes far above and beyond. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better night!
A Christmas dinner, planned and reserved months ago.
Reservations at 8:30, didn’t sit until after 9.
A group of 7, basically sat around a card table which was unstable and uncomfortable. Overpriced for the experience. Extremely disappointing.
Too loud and unfortunately meal was average at best for the second time in a row.
We felt rushed the server was overzealous, made recommendations without any requests. We requested time between apps and dinner, he assured us he hadn’t even put the order in yet the showed up literally right after he left the table.
I have had three dinners there and although the food is great two of the three visits we experienced subpar service.
Our waiter john was great!!!
Consistently one of the best steak restaurants. Have eaten in every steak house in Boston and Mastros ranks in the top.
Overpriced, food was not worth the prices. Service is very good. Overall, it is not worth it.
we ordered Bottled still water for the table, after the glasses were less than half full the waiter filled my glass with tap water when I explained that is was bottled she then walked away, I had to complain and tell them if I wanted tap water I would not of ordered bottled water, then she came over again and almost did the same thing. We all then ordered our main course and I ordered Swordfish, after 30 minutes they tell me there is no more swordfish, when our orders arrived they didn't have 1 order correct, Then we ordered desert we decided to have our desert in the restaurant and the other couple we were with decided to take it to go, then they brought the desert all in 1 to go bag including ours. For a high end restaurant and with a bill of over $400 the service was awful and in fact I would compare it to a fast food restaurant
Sorry, but noise level was a little bit higher than just energetic. Service was excellent, as was the food.
This place is not at all worth the prices they charge. Service is appropriate for the caliber of restaurant as one would expect but the kitchen is nothing more than any average “production” kitchen. The prices are comparable to LeCirque and the quality of the finished product is a notch below Shake Shack. Don’t waste time with this over priced, lesser than quality establishment. Just around the corner at the Boston Harbor Hotel is Meritage.,..what a difference in quality and service standards.
Food was delicious and service was fantastic. Waiter was a sommelier who patiently explained various options. To the manager--you hire well. From the bartenders to the service staff, they are all excellent.
It was my first time dining there and it was magnificent and it left a wonderful impression on me beginning with the time I went thru the door to the moment I left. My made me feel like I was the only guest in the restaurant with the attention she proved to my table. She knew the menu really well and explained the food very well. The food was superb, my compliments to the chef!!
Staff were fantastic. Great atmosphere and ambiance.
Decided to go for Thanksgiving dinner and everything was great. The only minor negative feedback was they don’t have kids cups; I understand it’s a higher end restaurant, however we called to ensure it was a kid friendly environment and they did have high chairs.
Great night out, great service, loved the colossal crab appetizer...
Always excellent food and service! Never disappoints. A Seaport gem.
Great service, ambience and the food was delish! My new favorite steak house/seafood in the city
Mastro's is my go-to Seaport district restaurant for steak or seafood. They never mess up or disappoint. We frequent every high end restaurant in Boston and Mastro's is in my top three.
This was our first time and we celebrated a birthday!
Food was excellent!
Special dessert is worth a try!
Mark our waiter was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!
Lovely presentation of the food as well as great taste and great service
Music too loud - should tone it down. Otherwise great place
It was the worst Experience I ever had there. 5th time at Mastros and this by far was the worse. The place was crazy, there were rude patrons at bar and bartenders did nothing to make the experience enjoyable, the managers were running around like they didn’t know how to run the place. It was a busy night, and management should be the ones keeping the place calm and under control. It will be a long time before going back. Very disappointed! This use to be my favorite restaurant.
Firs time there and it was great. The 32 wagyu tomahawk was the best ive had. Will deff go back. While very good, its still hard to justify a $400 dinner for 2 no matter how good.
Food was awesome, service excellent and drinks perfect!!!
What a GREAT overall evening... family surprised me for a special occasion + everything was just fantastic..... food was amazing , and service from Scott /team helped to make it a most enjoyable/memorable /successful night!!!! Thank you + can’t wait to come back. Peter
Unbelievable customer service!!! So impressed!!!!!
Never disappointed with dining at Mastros. Great food and atmosphere.
OK, it's a chain, but you always hope for the best. I had the bone-in filet and asked for medium-rare-plus and it came well-done on the edges and medium-well in the middle. Oh well. The waitperson offered to have another one made, but I declined. I usually like their steaks, but this one was completely flavorless; and of course, the well-done edges didn't help. My companion had a filet and thought it was OK/good and it was prepared as ordered. The French fries were not good (soggy and overcooked), but what was very disappointing was the amount of fries they provided for two people. Way too much! Those fries could have easily served 5-7 people and I'm not kidding. What a complete waste of food. The brussels sprouts was a mix of a good char and the other half undercooked. The garlic mashed potatoes were OK. The mango sorbet was acceptable, but the limoncello was icy - didn't finish it. The primary waitperson was fair to OK, but the bus people were appalling. The hoovered around the table waiting for my companion to finish and, at one point, tried to take away the plate before he was done. The noise? Oh my god. Sit as far away from the live band as you can. It's right near the front door and the maitre d became a bit agitated with me when I asked was it always this loud? (She also, originally, placed us at an unacceptable table and it was like pulling teeth to get a different table even though there were several open tables.) I don't know how anyone can expect to have a decent conversation at this place. The consequence of the live band and the acoustics allows patrons at the large, group tables to scream even louder to be heard. It's insane. Overall, the food wasn't good and at those prices, there is/was no value. I don't see myself returning to this Mastro's at any point in time.
My Business Partner and I were finishing off a 10 hour Strategy meeting and Mastro's wait staff and our server made it a great way to end the long day. The seafood tower, cocktsils, Chateaubriand, and Butter cake to end were spot on. It was a great meal and we'll definetely be back....maybe even for our company Christmas Party.
Yes had a great dinner with a good friend. Service was excellent
Johnathan was great! Me being a server myself I notice the ins and outs of the business. Every step was executed. Thanks so much
Amazing one of the best restaurants-in Boston
Been to this location 7 times in last 6 months - all on weeknight or Sunday and it was great every-time.
Last night was a disaster to put it nicely.
