GREAT WAITER - BELIEVE HIS NAME WAS ERIN OR ERIC?? BOOTH 401 6pm and the 24th - also very extremely friendly helping support for our waiter !
All in all- - -11 star rating far above the 5 normally given!
The service was amazing and although the steak was great, you can receive a better steak for better prices at places such as Bourbon & Bones and Steak 44. The décor/layout of the restaurant was strange and not a very intimate place for romantic meals. I am glad I tried it, but I probably won't be back only because I feel like other restaurants are just as good if not better for the same price, and at times cheaper.
Always an incredible experience
We’ve been to two Mastro’s locations and we knew what we were getting, so we were happy to go to a third. We focus on the steak so we did not get an appetizer. My girlfriend got the 8 oz filet and it was a perfect shade of medium rare and was remarkably tender. My bone-in ribeye was good but not the best I’ve ever had. It was cooked properly but did not have a nice sear that I’ve gotten at other steak houses (Capital Grille) and had sections with a little more fat than I’m used to. And yes, I am well-aware that a ribeye is going to have more fat than other cuts of meat. That said, I enjoyed the steak; the slight criticism is due to Mastro’s high standards.
Our side was the lobster mashed because of course. All the lobster and butter in it made it enjoyable, but this batch was literally drowning in butter and made the potatoes a little watery. They are known for loading up the potatoes with butter but they went a little overboard.
My drink, the Volcante, a tequila drink, was fantastic and highly recommended at $18. Many drinks on the menu are over $20 and can reach $26, so be prepared. I eat at top-end steakhouses all the time and normally don’t see drinks this expensive, but the pours are good and the quality excellent. My girlfriend had two glasses of Hess Allomi at $23 each. Their wine menu is superb, but be prepared to pay.
Service was fantastic. I couldn’t take a drink of water without getting a refill immediately and our waiter Giuseppe was fun, knowledgeable, polite, and on-point.
We had the butter cake for dessert and it was five-stars great. You have to end your meal with this dessert; it’s a Mastro’s staple. The environment was dark and boisterous, which is how I like my steakhouses. It oozed energy and fun. If you’re looking for a quiet date, choose another restaurant. If you want an energetic and fun vibe, you’ll find it here in spades.
Overall I would recommend Mastro’s to anyone. This review reflects the high standards I expect here.
Great food and great service. Large group was seated next to us and very loud. That’s our only problem.
Food was amazing. Only thing that was a dagger was the waiter. Always trying to sell something else on the menu. If I want a glass of wine, I’m well aware that I can order one, I don’t need anyone to ask me twice, or, even once for that matter. I also have a menu in front of me. If I want more food, I will order it. After I ordered my entree, he tried to trick me into asking me what side I wanted with it, please don’t keep trying to up charge so that your tip is larger by default of subtotal. This actually made me tip him less and I do this along with everyone else who tries to pressure people into buying something. I would have tipped more had he not done this. The staff needs to be retrained to waiters/waitresses instead of used car sales men. I’m at a steakhouse, let the product sell itself if you’re confident in your quality.
The food is so good, I had a hard time picking....I just want to eat everything! We didn't do the seafood tower this time, but that is worth going just by itself. My bone in steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! The service was very good, professional, friendly and just right for timing of courses. We will definitely be going back! And they have a great wine list and atmosphere. You definitely want to save room for dessert!
Kerel is the best! Awesome food! Awesome service!
Excellent service, the sea bass was amazing. Love coming here for special occasions. We were treated so well all evening and even got a call the next day to see if we were pleased with the service.
Always a good time but they were 35 minutes late with our reservation seating
Never disappoints- excellent food, drinks and service!
Our server Emily was great but we got a drink at the bar before dinner and the service was horrible - no one would take our order and then when our table was ready - we couldn’t settle up as we couldn’t get any bartenders attn - waited 15 min did the drink and over 10 to settle the bar tab - finally gave up and went to our table and had our server transfer over the drinks.
Good. High energy. Attentive staff.
Everyone and everything was wonderful
The food was decent. We don’t mind spending money for good food but if you are paying $60 to $100 for a steak it should not be served RAW when ordered medium rare. They should have checked the temperature before brining it out.
Always the very best bone-in filet. Great breads and sides, too.
We come to City Hall four to five times a year when we are in town, the food is always great. However, when we make a reservation eating in the lounge right by the door is very loud and hectic and not the best experience. Our chairs were getting bumped into, people were sitting at open chairs at our table as if they were part of the bar. We couldn't conduct any business conversations as it was too loud. I would think those table may be reserved for walk-ins. When we make a reservation weeks in advance, I would expect that we would be in the dinning room.
Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. Was placed at a hi-top in the bar, despite having reservations. What made the experience worse is that the table was next to the ‘main drag’ thru the bar - ended up with servers’ elbows in my face, yet not one stopped to even acknowledge my presence. After about 10 minutes, was disgusted and left. I had much higher hopes for this restaurant...
We came here for my friend's bachelorette dinner and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. Special thanks to Zach our server for being extra helpful!
This was one of many occasions out group has eaten at Mastro's. Last year's experience was subpar but this year more than made up for eat. Out service with great. Randy was professional, friendly and enhanced out experience. The food as usual was extraordinary. We will be back again. Best steakhouse in Scottsdale.
We absolutely love dining here the food is always phenomenal and the service is impeccable!
Go to other Mastro's and get treated like a king. Not so much here. If they dont know you - you get treated like a stranger. Was seated at an undesirable 4 top at 9pm last Friday night. Other (square) 4 tops open in room (lots of them.) Asked to be re-seated at ANY of them. They said "no" with ZERO reason given. Said we'd have to wait (so we did) and got seated at one 15 minutes later (not the one we asked for, but it was fine.) The one we requested stood empty for 45 minutes. We didnt care which (square) 4 top we were at...the point was - they screwed with us for no reason. Waiter was annoyed when we didn't order the "seafood tower" which regulars knows is for tourists.) After ordering an expensive bottle of wine, 4 dinners and 2 salads and 3 sides...my guest asked for small order of fries. His reply - "it'll be awhile." Like WTF! What kind of answer is that from a waiter at Mastro's? All in all - food was on par and fine. Server was NOT friendly nor attentive. (Very unusual from all other Mastro properties I have dined in.) Will stick with Pinnacle Peak and Ocean Club in PHX area.
Way way way too loud, doubt I will go back, have eaten at maestro many times
Great food and great dining experience as always.
Great service and food well prepared. Please turn up the lights a couple of lumens!
Outstanding steak. Portions are generous considering the quality of the restaurant. Halibut was a little plain and flavorless. Also, Caesar dressing has anchovies (which I loved, but my family didn’t). Still, absolutely 5 stars all the way!
Allan was an amazing server!
Mastro's City Hall is absolutely our favorite restaurant in Scottsdale. We had a driver and car drive us from Tucson to surprise my husband by having his daughter's surprise him. It was great. Alan is our favorite waiter and we love Tammy, who is at the bar. We feel like we are in our home. Lamb Chops are outstanding. All in all, it was a fabulous time.
Everything was very well done. The difficultly I have is spending over $200.00 a head for a weekday meal.
By far the very best food we had while on vacation for 10 days in Scottsdale AZ. Chris, our server, was probably the best server including his team I have seen. I have traveled the country and eaten at the top rated steakhouses in Dallas, Seattle, Minneapolis, KC, etc. and these guys are as good or better than all I have seen.
Too expensive and too dark to see menu!
Great service and food.
Great, friendly welcome upon our arrival. Yummy cocktails at the bar before we grabbed a table and had a terrific dinner experience. Very professional and helpful servers.
Wonderful meal for Easter
Terrific service and steak was perfectly cooked. Appetizers were delicious!
Amusingly, everyone in our party ordered the same thing; various signature cuts of steak, topped with bacon, and the Spicy Mambo Salad. Decadent. Effusive satisfaction from all. Prepared drinks were perfect. We closed with a round of Bananas Foster cocktails -- not something I would ever think to order -- which was unexpectedly delightful. The service was well-timed, friendly, casual and experienced. Mastro's ratings are well-deserved.
Love it Great job
We went to Maestro's for my wife's birthday. We were seated on time with a reservation. Our waiter was Randy, a very nice funny person. Service was great. All the food we ordered was fantastic! The lobster bisque was the best, had large pieces of lobster! My wife's filet was the beat steak she has had in a while. The crème Brule was very smooth and creamy. The Mastro's butter cake was phenomenal, and large enough for two! We have been to several Mastro's and have alays loved it!
Great place 2 eat
