Our go to place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Excellent food, excellent service.
Nice atmosphere. Very nice service. Great music at the bar.
Servers were slow I light
My mom was in town visiting for her birthday and I took her to Mastro's to celebrate. We all had an amazing time. The staff was amazing and Vance took care of us. I will go back and highly recommend!
Got there @ 7 for 8pm reservations. Asked to Be seated early. They said no problem. Sat at the bar....bartender was great. Past our seating time...still not seated. I mean we got there an hour early!! We ate @ the bar....@ 8:40 They came to seat us. Ridiculous to make us wait when half the restaurant was empty!!
Most likely the best food I have ever had. Unfortunately the music was sooo loud that I could not have a conversation with the person next to me. I had brought some clients to dinner and they all loved the food but that music was unbearable.
My favorite steakhouse in the Valley and my go to place for special occasions. The high quality food and service always results in a very satisfying experience!
We have dined at City Hall many times and always have had fantastic dining experiences. We recently visited City Hall to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Gary was was knowledgeable, fun and provided my wife and I with outstanding service. Thanks for a great experience.
Your restaurant is too dark if your servers have to carry flashlights. The menu has no descriptions of the dishes. My steak was so burnt on the outside that I didn't want to eat it.
This is my favorite restaurant so we came here with friends to celebrate my birthday! The food is deliciously outstanding! Ordering the Scallops is a MUST. The steaks are delicious. For sides.... they’re all so good. The corn, potatoes, Spinach, mushrooms, yum yum yum. The best way to end the night was with, Butter Cake! Last lets not forget the wonderful staff! The hostess are the true reason why this place is amazing. They are incredibly sweet and always try their best to accommodate any needs. You guys Rock!
This was my first experience with Mastros. It had been hyped up as a premiere dining experience... a bucketlist item. I was told there was a dress code, so I dressed up. No jacket, but long sleeve button down shirt, slacks, etc. Business professional attire. My initial impression was WOW... I'm out of my league here. The initial service was spot on. We were attended to like we were wanted and appreciated. It was exceeding expectations, so far. Drink order taken, bread basket "on the way". I ordered an appetizer. I was expecting to get the bread way before my appetizer. 30 minutes later, and 2 requests to servers/drink refills, we finally received our bread. My wife had nothing to enjoy while I took down my appetizer. Totally unacceptable. Our meals came out in normally expected time and was great! Kudos to the chefs. Unfortunately, the service was deplorable. It wasn't like everyone was having to wait on bread... we walked in with one of my wife's peers and they received the top notch service everyone should get. The manager came over to talk with my wife and I because we knew his friends, my wife's peer. NOW I see why they were receiving above normal service. Again TOTALLY unacceptable. They must have a database of names of their constituents. If you're a regular, you get better service. Who knows. All I know is this. MASTROS CITY HALL IF OFF MY LIST.
Very good food. Do not order the crab gnocchi, too starchy and not much crab or truffle flavor. Other than that, yum. Wife ordered chicken, was the best chicken ever.
Celebrated our 21st Anniversary and as usual like the past 10 years, we experienced a perfect evening completing our dinner with a complimentary cake!!!!!
Went for a romantic birthday dinner with my husband we go every year the service and food has always been awesome this time it was very busy and loud and the service was slow non-attentive between the two of us we usually spend about $500 which includes a nice bottle of wine the steak my husband received was gristle he and just a very terrible cut of meat for the cost It was a bone in ribeye one of their most expensive meats on the menu just not what were used to expecting seems like something was off this visit
We had reservations at 8 and wasn’t seated until almost 8:30 other than that the overall experience was good our waiter was phenomenal the wait is the only complaint.
My brothers and I went to celebrate the buyout of our company and we had an amazing evening/experience. The food was phenomenal and the staff was equally as impressive.
I cannot wait until we hit our next big milestone at D2 Surveying so that we can do it again!
Mastro’s is always a wonderful experience with food that is memorable!
Amazing service, food, and overall experience. Would highly recommend to others!
Said they opened at 4 but only a limited menu. Full menu at 5 but 30 minutes after ordering were told the potatoes were delayed. Served at 5:55. Server was inattentive and slow turning around the bill. Been there several times and was - this experience was poor
Decent steak but not considering the price! They charged $15 for the marrow butter on top of the $65 decent steak. Dinner for me and a few customers cost $110 each an nobody drank alcohol. Don’t believe they hype with this place!
Everything was great the only thing I would say is filling up the waters when they get low is great but iced tea when you put sugar in it it messes it all up and it would be nice if you would ask if you want more Ice-Tea before filling it up without asking
Pretty pricey for what you get. The butter cake was outstanding but our waiter disappeared when he got a large party.
An excellent dinner and the set was excellent as well.
The gnocchi was unbelievable
Sat us at a table that we later found out had to move a customer from because it was outside and a bird pooped on their menu. In the middle of our dinner a bird pooped twice on our table. The customer who was sat there before us came to our table after they moved us and told us he was shocked that they sat us there. Our waiter Gary just made it worse with his awkwardness when we brought this to his attention. The manager came by once when it was reported to verify then never seen again. They sat us at another table and we did not see anyone for ten to 15 min. At that time Gary came by and said they were going to comp our bill, still never saw a manager. We were there for a birthday celebration and was told they were also comping a b-day cake to go since our appetite was ruined halfway through our meal and we had no interest at eating at that point. Still left sitting there with little interaction, no birthday cake. Had to ask for check, only a 50 comp. and no explanation to why when we both had big portions of our main course on the plate. Then they never delivered that cake, we sat at the table for over 20 min with me finally going to track down Gary to tell him the " comp" b day cake never came and we are awkwardly leaving ver unsatisfied with still paying a high bill. I still tipped 20% but now it really starting to bother me once standing back from what happened.
The food was good. The filet mignon was terrific. However, the level of price ($ 600 for 4 people - 1 drink each) is unjustified. The same level of food and service quality is available in other restaurants in Scottsdale’s much lower prices.
The butter cake it too die for and the rest of the food was fabulous
Mastro's City Hall never disappoints! The steaks are the best, but don't miss the shrimp cocktail (with atomic horseradish). Jes and his team provided excellent service as always; and a fun night was had by all! Looking forward to our next visit!
Food and service was excellent! Had the bone in ribeye and filet. We’ll be back.
Food was ok, not great. Not a lot of taste in my Chefs Cut steak.
We went for my husband’s birthday. It was a very nice meal.
Celebrating an awards trip
My wife suggested this place for my graduation dinner, mainly because of the Warm Butter Cake. Everything was going well until our entrees arrived. My daughter ordered the Rack of Lamb medium, it came out well done. My other daughter ordered Twin Lobster tails, one tail was done the other was not. My Aunt ordered what she thought was "normal" Surf and Turf (steak with a lobster tail on the side), she got a steak with what I believe was lobster tail chopped and mixed with other ingredients covering the plate and steak. The waiter was very apologetic, as was the manager who took the items off the bill. They also provided free dessert including the Warm Butter Cake. I think the attempt to recover for the food was just, but a place that charges $70 for steaks needs to ensure all food is exceptional every day. Hard to do, but expected when you have a bill over $1,000 for 8 people.
Service was fair. Had to ask for bread 3 times. Finally got it and some was still frozen inside. The rest was great, but as expected, expensive.
Mastro’s is a long-time go to for business and personal dinner when you need something a little more special.
The food was very good as was the service
City Hall Grill is a solid Scottsdale steak restaurant. Good food, drinks, service and fun people watching!
