New York Pepper Steak
Truffle Butter Sautéed Wild Mushrooms
I had to downgrade my rating because the food was over cooked. Rack of lamb ordered medium-rare was served at medium well, and filet ordered at medium came out as medium-well. Too bad because you can see the high quality of the meat. To be fair, the restaurant manager took off the cost of the entrees. Otherwise, the tuna tartare appetizer was truly outstanding, and the bartender mixed a mean martini. Service was first-rate. I’d definitely give this place another chance in the future.
The staff did not offer to decant our wine, the used glasses, plates sat on our table until we asked for them to be removed. We were overcharged for a $90 bottle of wine that had to be removed after we discovered the error.
The service was great! But they were out of their signature cocktail (Old fashion face off) and had to substitute. The mashed potatoes were runny and the Brussels were a little undercooked. But the entertainment was great!
The service at the restaurant was subpar. I ordered a 5Az Japanese wagyu steak and he did not come according to temperature. They are a steakhouse and you would assume they know how to cook steak according to the costumers request!. We Ordered several martinis. The martinis were mixed up between blue cheese olives and regular olives. The correction for the waiter was to physically take his own fingers and take the olives And make the correction in that regard. It would’ve been more appropriate to essentially of taking both of those drinks back and replace them with fresh drinks rather than using his own fingers to change the drinks.I would recommend looking at other options for your steakhouse experience.
Always a gastronomic experience!!
Our favorite restaurant however it was the worst steak we have had from our multiple Visits, out guest and I both had bone in rib-eye, I normally have bone in filet! Our guest said ribeye so I followed, we both regret, should have ordered filets
I’ve been to a lot of steakhouses in Phoenix and elsewhere. There’s always an effort to sell up - better cut of meat, add on options, etc but it almost felt like hucksterism at Mastro’s. A bit disappointed in the steak preparation, especially for the price. Took my son for his birthday. We were both a little disappointed.
Amazing food! Worth every penny. Chris offered service like no other in his field. He was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will be back again!
Mastro's completely lived up to it's reputation. Excellent food and outstanding service!
We had a fantastic experience. Alan was attentive, helpful and friendly. This is our favorite restaurant in AZ
Great steakhouse and lounge. Food is always solid, as is the waitstaff.
As with most places these days, a bit understaff, especially at the hostess check-in. We waited too long to be seated, as did several other parties.
I'll be back...solid establishment.
It was my husbands birthday. It was extremely loud in the dining room. For a $200 meal there was nothing special. The steak also wasn’t warm by the time we received it.
Wasn’t super thrilled with our experience. When we first got there my daughter wanted to order a mocktail or just something more interesting than iced tea or coke. Even though it wasn’t busy and they had a FULL bar, he told her “they don’t really do that here.” We go out to dinner all the time and they’ve always been more than happy to accommodate us. Even when we go to Binkleys, they have something special for the non-drinkers. It’s ridiculous. How hard is it to throw some juice, soda and line together?
Anyway so the service wasn’t great. The rest of my family loved their steaks but the side dishes were just alright. I was told the sea bass was amazing. It was good but I’ve had better for sure.
We will not be returning. After spending $500 , I expect to walk away happy.
Service was poor. Food was good, but not what you would expect from a maestros. Will be going to the capital grill next time.
The manager who greeted us at the front was incredible. So nice and welcoming. Our server was nice. Didn’t seem that knowledgeable about their menu. Asked a couple questions about the type of steaks and didn’t have the answers. The Cesar salad was amazing, still kinda shocked that they charge for bread. And the steak itself was really good. We shared a 8oz wagyu, sautéed asparagus, and Mac and cheese. Steak and Mac were very good but the asparagus was so limp and over cooked. Seems like a hard thing to mess up. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary which was a nice touch! The butter cake is so delicious. Overall lovely but I’ve been to this mastros a couple years ago when visiting and it was definitely better.
Mastro’s City Hall was a great choice for dining in Scottsdale.
Great steakhouse to enjoy amazing food and company.
Made reservations on a recommendation during a weekend trip to Scottsdale. We had great drinks, perfectly cooked steaks (riveted, NY strip, and KC strip) that had flavor and were tender and juicy, the awesome butter cake dessert, and attentive service from Alan. Would definitely return if we are in the area again!
The food is phenomenal, only issue here was the server was triple sat, 1 party of 8, one party of 6, and then us 2. We were sat first so we at least got drinks in but waiting on our server to deal with those parties made our stay entirely too long and we didn't get to order another round of drinks or anything. Again, food was amazing as always
Food was great and we had wonderful service. They did not disappoint
It was our anniversary and the food was amazing it’s just far too loud inside to enjoy conversation with your date.
We really enjoy this place. I love the steaks being delivered on very hot plates. The truffle butter is a must try for the steak as well as the seafood tower and butter cake.
City Hall never disappoints! Service and food were amazing as always! Last minute bday dessert was perfection!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spectacular. We always enjoy dining here and look forward to next time.
There was a significant disproportion between price and quality. The meals were expensive with above average prices, and the quality of the steaks were just average for an upscale steak house. The service was good but not great. Assistant servers did not clean crumbs from the table before placing a new course. These are the finer subtleties of high quality dining. The wine prices were a standard 3x markup from retail, and the wine service and selection were on par with top steakhouses. Overall, though, it was the quality of the steaks as related to their price that led to this low review. One technique they used on fellow diners is to “offer additional toppings” on the steak which hid the cooking imperfections. Also, when I asked for cracked pepper on my steak, the server brought a pepper mill and left. Water service was not attentive. Diners here will confuse price with quality.
I've been to City Hall many times but this will probably be my last. Service was very slow..we waited for our menus once we got seated..we chased bussers to order entrees after we were done w appetizers, we waited another 15-20 minutes before chasing down another guy to pay our bill and get out... The porterhouse was delicious but people don't spend $300 to share a steak .. they come for the service and experience....which this time was an epic fail...oh I'd pass on their crab leg appetizer... Buffalo cheese and tomato was good though
Halibut and salad were fantastic. One of my favorite places in Scottsdale.
Always amazing food and amazing service.
Food was delicious, but my purse got stolen!! Absolutely do not recommend coming here.
Had our family dinner here with seating for 10 people. It was great! Had a good time and fantastic food. We got a seafood tower to start with. My mom really wanted some caviar which they had a few selections to choose from. Everyone got steak and sides for their entree. The service was great. Overall a great experience and would do it again anytime!
Mastros is a classic steakhouse experience. The ambiance is very traditional and sophisticated. The food was fabulous. Overall a must try.
Great place for a special dinner!
Entrees were great, sides were okay not a lot of taste but good portions.
Waiter had to much on his hands, took to much to get us our drinks.
Mastros City Hall has always been one of my favorite, go to restaurants in the valley. My only issue was that we had a reservation at 7:15 PM and we were not able to be seated until an hour later. Other than that, it was great as usual.
15 years later and it’s still THE BEST there is. Been to many high end restaurants and City Hall still comes out on top.
our food was not delicious which it should be and has been in the past.
The dinner was amazing, and the service exceptional!
