Mastro's Signature Warm Butter Cake
New York Pepper Steak
Very nice! We enjoyed our 13th wedding anniversary!
Not the best for a fancy meal , steak was over cooked , waited a long time for food . Server kind of ignored us .
Disappointed to put it mildly. I’ve lived in the valley for 20+ years but first visit to any Mastros restaurants. I understand it’s Mother’s Day evening but the service was ssssssssllllllllooooooooowwwwwwww! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but the time between visits, courses, etc. was unacceptable. Food was ok and had it been phenomenal, we probably would be ok with the time we were there. Since it was average at best, it didn’t help with our experience. There are other top notch steakhouses to go, I doubt we’ll visit another Mastros.
I took my mouther and wife for Mother's Day Dinner. The restaurant was packed! Despite knowing it was a holiday and all of the reservations, they were extremely short staffed. There was only 3 people busing tables and our waiter was rarely seen. I am used to $$$$ restaurants having back up servers that watch the room and step in where needed, this was not the case.
The food was phenomenal as would be expected at these price points. I highly recommend the bone-in ribeye. I was surprised they did not offer a free dessert for mothers days.
The only drink that was refilled during the meal was our water. There was never even an offer to get us more beverages.
Our server was not very accommodating and disappeared for long stretches. Served a French onion soup that the cheese had sank to the bottom of the bowl and soup was Luke warm at best. Also had a Dungeness crab cocktail which was serve warm. Overall not a good experience.
Drinks and appetizers were great, but my wife’s main entree was not good at all. Not sure what happened but the Salmon was very dry with no glaze or anything. Side of a Brussel Sprouts were burned and very crispy. Our server did not check on us until we were done with our meal.
Mother’s Day. Would have been nice to have the live music earlier and maybe mom’s get a small dessert or glass of champagne.
I took my wife here for Mother’s Day. The service was horrible. Our waiter, Chris, was rude to begin with. We ordered drinks then didn’t see him again for 30 minutes. He finally came back to our table and asked if we wanted anything to drink I said yes what about the drinks we ordered 30 minutes ago? He said, “sorry they have us running everywhere.” So you would think he’d get our drinks, which were just ice tea, immediately right? Nope, 15 minutes later he brings the ice tea. My glass was filthy, he obviously saw that but gave it to me anyway. He finally realized his tip was probably melting away and became a tiny bit more attentive but even then, terrible service. We were there for almost 3 hours. The food, however, was very good. Very expensive restaurant to get that kind of very poor service. Not sure we’ll go back.
Food was excellent. Service seemed rushed and a little sloppy. Our waiter was fine but everyone else who came to our table pretty much dumped the food and ran. The guy who decided to serve out our side dishes draped cheese from the macaroni across the back of my son's sport coat. Overall atmosphere was loud, cramped, rushed and impersonal.
Great server in Billy. Food is amazing. It is a culinary masterpiece.
Great restaurant, very good food & the vibe is a absolutely amazing , definitely would recommend
Mastro,s was good. It is inconsistent. The bar area works the best. our service this time was excellent.Although the hostess stand is slow and confused. would go back.
Date spot. The steak I had was not as flavorful as I would have expected. The service was great and made for a good night.
By far the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant, let alone a steakhouse of this stature.
Our reservation was at 0830, we got seated at 915, but I get it they were busy. Sit down, we ordered apps and dinner immediately. Apps still were not out after 45 mins. The manager came out said sorry asked for something. We asked for bread, never came. Apps came after an hour.
Entrees came out thereafter, tasted awful.
Been to Mastro’s in Chicago several times and it has always been phenomenal.
In shock how terrible this was here.
Truly the best steak house I have ever ate, and I am from Las Vegas Nevada we have plenty of delicious world famous steak houses out there, but this 1 takes the cake, Amazing food, wonderful service, overall the whole experience was amazing totally recommend this place I will be back!.
I was expecting more quality & better presentation at the food. Overall was ok but definitely not 5 stars.
We wanted to treat ourselves and have butter cake. It’s went down hill. Looked like canned readywhip whipped cream on the plate and soggy fruit in a pile on the plate.
Our dinner at Mastros, city hall was wonderful! The steak was perfect and we enjoyed many sides including the lobster mashed potatoes. Our server Allen made the experience top notch. Thank you for this great evening and memory!
I loved the atmosphere and the live pianist and singing was and added bonus! She sounded so good!
The service was impeccable. Ambiance is amazing. A little loud; however, we sat in the back of the restaurant, which is a little more mild than the front. Dessert was my absolute favorite.
As always, the food was phenomenal and the wait staff exceptional.
Waitress had a great personality. She was very busy did not check w table re our dinner. 1 guest steak was not cooked to specifications and was a 1st time City Hall diner. Desserts came out 10min apart. The birthday dinner did not go as well as I expected.
My wife and I went here for our 3 year anniversary and we’re not disappointed at all! We’ve eaten at some nice restaurants over the years, but the experience here at Mastro’s topped the list at #1 by far!! Our server Billy went out of his way to give recommendations we asked about and give us a truly unprecedented experience.
I was a solo dinner and basically forgotten about. 2+ hours that was not necessary. Everyone around me, that came in later was served before me. A table of 5 that came in much later was done their meals before I was able to order mine.
I didn’t cause a fuss, but should have. I thought that maybe a drink or the bread (that I had to ask for twice) would have been complimentary for my poor service... not the case.
Very unfortunate as when I did get the food it was delicious, but had lost my appetite.
Service was good food didn't come out as I wanted it to and cost like almost 300 bucks just sucks not having what you want it for the price
Delicious food. Poor service.
The service and the food were EXCELLENT
Great food--service was excellent. Very energetic vibe for these days!
Service was extremely slow and inattentive, food quality was mediocre and staff was reluctant to admit any fault or take responsibility for shortcomings.
Definitely not the Mastro experience we have been accustomed to over the past several years. Perhaps it’s time to migrate to another venue such as Steak 44.
Great food and service as usual...out
Great food, it was a little loud for a nice restaurant.
Fantastic service. Delicious food. Amazing experience.
I come here a few times a year for business dinners. It is a great place to bring our clients. We will definitely be returning shortly.
The hostess gave our reservation to another party and said, “they had the same name, but not the same” so we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for another table. No apology was given. She just said that she was not the one who sat them. The managers just looked at us and never said a word. We hadn’t eaten all day and were very hungry. Our server was very good, however, the food was slow; they were very busy. The food was good. With all of the competition as a steakhouse in Old Town, you would think they would provide better service; it wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t good. There are other options that we would choose next time we feel like steak.
Amazing meal, service and food were very good. Only complaint is we were seated in the noisy bar, but our reservation was for a normal table. Other than that, amazing as usual.
The food was amazing! The steak, the shrimp cocktail, and the butter cake! Wonderful place!
7:15 reservation..sooooov5 mins till our server came over to greet us..ordered right away (we had plenty of time to look it over). Didn’t get our food till 8:40...sister’s 50th birthday, we live in Dallas and came to Phoenix for some fun!! I don’t think I had ever had such a bad experience anywhere, “D” our server popped by every now and then with no sense of purpose or just didn’t care...ugh! We didn’t even stick around for her “special” birthday dessert, which never came, so we grabbed a random server to help us pay out, got up and left. It just sucked. Food was okay probably could’ve been better but our whole evening was all messed up.
It was the first time my daughter met her grandfather due to COVID and we wanted to go somewhere special. The service was inexcusable for the amount we paid for that meal. Here are the worst offensives:
1) We waited more than 45 minutes for someone to take our food order.
2) My young daughter was hungry so we asked them to bring her food out first. Not only did it come after the grownups appetizers BUT IT WAS WRONG! They got her order wrong even though the waiter went into the kitchen to correct it.
3) Two of the 5 steaks were OVERCOOKED. When you go to an upscale steakhouse, the steaks should be perfect.
4) Coffee was ordered after the meal and my father never got his milk. He had to ask 2 times and his coffee was cold by the time he could drink it.
We went here for the food and service. Neither met our expectations and we won’t be back.
The server was not good at all his service was extremely poor
