The waiter barely checked on us. He forgot to put our food order in I’m assuming and we sat there for almost an hour before I asked him to pack it to go. The food was not good at all. My daughter got the crab cake sandwich and I got the chicken Parmesan. There was practically no sauce on the penne noodles at all; and it tasted like it was something you would get at a cheap diner. The bread was fantastic, but that was the only good thing. This was our first and will be our last visit here.
What happened to this place? The food used to be so good and the menu so varied. It took 20 minutes to get a table (despite it not being very crowded and we had a reservation), the breakfast buffet was bland and all the food either lukewarm or cold, my husband ordered a salad with salmon, the salmon was just about still swimming it was so undercooked, very very disappointing experience. Our server was pleasant but clearly overworked. Won’t be going back any time soon.
Very slow service
Very disappointed that this diner no longer offers a breakfast menu, only a breakfast buffet until 1 pm. The buffet wasn’t kept up with and kept running out of food. Also they stopped providing clean dishes at noon so if you wanted to go back up to the buffet and your dinner plate had already been removed by your server, you were out of luck. Mastoris has definitely gone down hill, although our server was excellent.
Prime rib over cooked. Waitress was wonderful. Extremely accommodating. She compensated for the ok meal.
We had a reservation and were seated very promptly. Hostess was lovely and the waitress was outstanding.
very limited menu. they shortened it alot.
We had a reservation and waited almost an hour for our table even though it was not crowded. We were there to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. They had no one at the hostess stand and gave us no updates as to when we might be seated. Once seated, our server Joy was outstanding. She was juggling 3 large parties and still gave us great service and was extremely pleasant and friendly. The food was very good. Thanks to Joy for making it a good experience!
As a physician I try to dine healthy. The prior time at Mastoris I selected a side Caesar salad . The salad was “SPECIAL “ . Returning to Mastoris I selected the salad as my main entree, my opinion was reconfirmed. It is rare to note a salad to be special and as enjoyable as the first time.

My family has been dining at Mastoris for over 20 years. While the menu is a bit smaller during the pandemic, the quality, value, and outstanding service has not changed. The menu has excellent variety and the portions are more than generous. You will never leave here hungry! In a state known for great diners, Mastoris is one of (if not the) very best.
Very disappointing experience. The kitchen did not have their act together AT ALL
Breakfast service was great as are the cinnamon + cheese bread on the house. The food (pancakes) were so so. Coffee was great. I do not like when they sit us in the inside room which is dark especially when a nice day outside + the hostess put diners on either cube around us and that did not give us a comfort level. There was enough room where every other booth should be used and diners spaced out.
Food very good and service excellent. I would highly recommend dining here.
I used to frequent this establishment for many years and always loved everything about it. It's been at least 5 years since I've visited and I can't tell if things were different because of changes related to the pandemic, or if the establishment has gone downhill. I always recalled the waitstaff being polished professionals with exceptional customer service and attentiveness. The server we had seemed to have tables scattered all over the restaurant and was rarely available at our table. We had to ask for little things several times, our drinks were frequently empty and even when he visited the table, if we didn't ask for a refill, one was not offered. Two of our party ordered steak, one medium rare and the other medium, both came out somewhere between medium well and well done. I ordered the prime rib which was cooked properly, but was supposed to be served with au jus. After the food was delivered, no server spotted at the table to check on us for nearly 15 minutes. We flagged down 2 other staff members asking for our server to alert him to the overcooked meats and missing au jus. The replacement steaks took almost 20 minutes to come out and we still had to ask an additional time about the jus. When the status were delivered, the server dropped them and walked away without waiting for anyone to cut into them to confirm they were correct this time. Fortunately they were, but he never asked a a follow up. No manager spotted at the table to check on us after the issue either. It seems as though the seasoned professionals who used to work here have moved on. I would understand one or two mishaps, given this was technically a holiday and rather busy, but this was the day before mother's day, not even the actual day of and things were rather disappointing.
We arrived on time for our reservation but it still took them 25 minutes to seat us. After that everything was fine but what is the point of a reservation if you end up waiting that long anyway.
The new Mastoris was great.....however, the server forgot to give us the great cinnamon/cheese breads with the coffee and they came after the food......but will return again as the NEW Mastoris we liked.....
Too much food for one person. My wife and I could have shared a meal and been very satisfied, Perhaps they need to consider smaller portions for people with smaller appetites.
After being seated, it took 25 minutes to get served. When they realized the situation the waitress immediately apologized. There was a mixup as to who was assigned to our table. The cheese and cinnamon bread that they usually serve was good but not as great as it used to be. Still a good time was had by all.
Had a nice waitress her name was Jess or Jenn thanks for your service it was great
Hostess was missing for about 10 minutes to even check in when we arrived. Everyone was complaining, even though we had reservations we waited about 20 minutes to get our table. The food didn’t come to our table of four for one hour! No joke!
Everything was very good. It's one of my favorite places.
I highly recommend going to Mastori's. The tables are spaced out. The restaurant is very clean. They take everyone's temperature and record it before you are seated. I would go back again!
Overall was a nice experience for a quick get together
Food was terrible and the service was awful. We sent there and rarely did the waiter come over. Terrible experience will not be going back.
HAD TO WAIT FOR SEATING WITH A CONFIRMED RESERVATION. WAITER WAS TERRIBLE. ASKED SEVERAL TIME FOR ITEMS. DIDN'T TAKE DINNER ORDER PROPERLY. FORGOT ONE ENTREE. FOOD WAS EITHER COOL OR COLD. BROUGHT WRONG DESERTS. BROUGHT MAIN COURSE BEFORE ALLOWING ME TO FINISH MY SOUP, WHICH WAS COLD. SEND ENTREE BACK BECAUSE IT WAS BURNT.
NEVER AGAIN. THEIR DEAD IN THE WATER TO ME. NEW OWNERS RUINED WHAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GREAT DINER.
Not the same as it used to be. Mastoris is known for their cheese bread. It was pretty much cheeseless. Their menu was one sheet. We struggled to find something. Their menu used to be pages and pages. I get covid, but other restaurants offer more. It was always a go to for my family. Not any time soon if we don’t hear the buzz improve
Always loved going here for their lunch and dinner menu, but their limited breakfast menu just doesn't cut it anymore. $50 for 3-people for a run of the mill egg breakfast is a bit pricey. Service was okay. Not going back.
I loved this place going up. New owner took off and it was a total disappointment. The waiter was the best I have had and even he warned me that it's a new owner and everything changed. Hamburger was bloody the wings were rubbery, how?!?!? Tenders were burnt and rubbery. Cheesecake was good though.
Nice relaxing lunch ... waitress was pleasant and efficient and our meals were certainly ample portions, with need to ask for take home boxes!
Restaurant was COVID compliant and provided each table with a “take home” sanitizer bottle.
Food just “ok.” No seasoning noted on prime rib or flank steak. Pork roast was exceptional. Garlic mash was outstanding while the loaded baked potato dry. Will likely return, but not for the beef dishes.
Mastoris is a decades-old favorite! Under the new management, the menu has been cut down considerably. But that may also be due to the pandemic. Food, service, and bakery are still GREAT!
Mastoris is not what it used to be, but it's still terrific. For those of us who have been a part of Mastoris for decades, this is quite a change. I suppose covid has had an effect, but I really miss the way things were...
Was seated promptly upon arrival. Within two minutes server greeted me and asked if i was ready to order. Ordered a scotch which was a decent pour. Told him i would order in a few minutes. Wanted to enjoy my drink a bit. Took my order when i was ready and i explained i was in no rush so not to rush with the salad. The runner appeared with my so called “Greek” salad in about five minutes. Came with a “Greek” dressing which looked and tasted like a mix of French and Thousand Island. The Feta Cheese apparently was running a race through the salad and never stopped. Barely noticeable. Was not worth $11. Enjoying my drink as i tolerated the salad when in about 5 minutes when i was not even half finished with my salad, my entree of fried shrimp, scallops and fish arrived. YIKES!! Waiter was very apologetic. By the way, they have runners who bring out your food. Shrimp and scallops were fried very dark and the fish was as fried seafood should be, a golden brown. French fries were limp and not at all desirable. Ate two. Had a decaf afterwards. Was seated next to a service station. Was shocked when a bus person cleaned off a table and put the unused sugar packets and creamers back onto the service station. oh oh !!! Was immediately turned off by that. Place has a lot of potential but staff need a lot of training. And this is coming from a former waiter, so trust me I know what is what. Place was very clean. A small hand sanitizer container was in the table. Squeezed a little and none came out. Figured it was sealed so took off top. Not sealed but only about 1/3rd full. Apparently not the first user. Guess who won’t be going back to Mastori’s. I went there in memory of times my deceased soul mate and i had enjoyed great meals there some years back. To bastardize an old saying, “you can never go back home again”
First time back post COVID and under new ownership. Food excellent. Disappointed that salad or soup no longer included with dinner, and you had to ask for the bread that was always provided when you arrived. Regardless, we will be back!
Not as good as it once was. Sad
Amazing food and staff. I love their food! They catered my wedding and it was amazing!
We had a wonderful romantic dinner. The staff from the Maitre D to the waiter, bartender and the bus staff treated us like we were their best costomers. The food was outstanding! Our food was cooked to order and very good size portions. We had reservations and were seated ontime. We had not been to Mastoris in a long while , but will be back very soon.
The portions were small. And my husband and I asked for medium for our steak but they cooked it well done. Sides were cold also.
What a fabulous meal and experience. The staff is so attentive and efficient and the food was prepared perfectly and delicious.
