Came into town wanting to try a celebrity chef owned restaurant and Masso Osteria did not disappoint.
It had great ambiance and the noise level was not as bad as reported on other reviews. Our party tried
the chef's tasting menu. All courses were pleasing to the eye and palate. The star of the meal was the
creamy polenta. It was super smooth and partnered with truffles, mushroom, and bacon. The only
course that fell short of expectations was the wood roasted chicken. The chicken was a little dry
and seasoning a little bland. Overall everyone had an enjoyable experience.
While we had a reservation and were seated promptly, some of us went to the bar. Mike G., our bartender, served us with his usual sociable style. He charming and attentive. Our server, Renee, was friendly, courteous and took time to help my grandson choose a dish. There were 6 in our party and we ordered a variety of breads, entrees and sides. All of the entrees were served at the same time and were hot. Every one of us was delighted with the dish we chose. It was my daughter's birthday and she was treated to a lovely dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Overall our experience here was impressive. The host was very accommodating to my Grandmother upon entering, whom has a severe handicap. He gracefully escorted her to our table and stowed her walker away through the duration of our meal. Lauren was our server, and she was phenomenal. She was attentive, genuine, and able to present the menu to each member of our party in a warm and exciting way. The food was surprisingly good and we all enjoyed our experience. We will be returning here for special occasions.
Our group was in town to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We are all HUGE Scott Conant fans and amongst the group have been to all of his restaurants. In Scott fashion, this was an amazing experience. The cocktails were fabulous, the open kitchen is beautiful and the food is amazing!
We decided to get off the strip on Friday night. It was a nice change of pace to not be so over crowded. It was about a 25 minute Uber right and completely worth it. It will be in our rotation for all our trips to Vegas going forward.
Celebrity Chef Scott Conant has done a fabulous job crafting amazing, creative, delicious food. We were fortunate to meet him on the evening we dined. Our server, Joel, was attentive, knowledgable, friendly and fun. We enjoyed a truly wonderful meal!
First visit. Small portions for the price. Had to request bread. Noisy from casino music. Food was average. Won't see us again.
Food is very good. Stephanie (wait staff) was great & went out of her way for us. We've dined at Masso several times & keeps getting better.
We were hesitant to go to the restaurant after reading many negative reviews. Slow to get food, inattentive wait staff and overall bad experiences. We decided to see for ourselves. Boy, are we glad we did. The food was excellent, large enough servings to share and beautiful presentations. STEVE, our waiter, was informed about the menu choices, helped us select courses that complemented each other, and offered just the right amount of attentiveness. We started with the recco style garlic bread which was unusual and delicious. We had the tuna credo to start. It was beautifully presented and outstanding flavor. The lamb shank was excellent, and we had enough to take home for another meal. The salmon was just okay., nothing special, but I wouldn’t let that stop us from a return visit. Prices are at the upper end so this is not a go to neighborhood restaurant. More for a special dinner occasion or every so often visit. The salted carmel bunion was a great treat to end the meal. We will definitely return, ask for STEVE and enjoy another dining experience.
We felt the waiter should have advised us that food is not standard Italian. Ex. We ordered garlic bread. It is served as a quesadilla. Not garlic bread at all. Same with other items. Food was okay, but not what we expected.
I came here for my birthday. It was a beautiful surprise. I’ve always been a fan of Scott Conant and this restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Excellent service, wonderful ambiance and great food. I’ll definitely be back :)
Great Italian Food at Red Rock Resort
Food was delicious and portions can be shared
Started off with a Kale salad followed by the House specialty Pomodoro pasta--both shared
Wife had salmon and I had lamb as our main dishes--both were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious
Overall an outstanding meal but do arrive hungry
The tasting menu also sounded great for parties of 4 or more
Will definitely come again
Excellent Italian food. Nothing is overly fussy. The chef tasting menu is a fantastic deal, you get five courses for $65 per person. Servers very friendly and helpful, quieter dining room for being in a casino. Outdoor patio is covered. Highly recommend.
Very noisy. No dress code, so the next table was full of youngsters in t-shirts with baseball caps. In fact, throughout the whole restaurant there were t-shirts and shorts and caps. There was a bar in the back with games on tv's and people yelling like it was a sports bar. Waitress made inappropriate comments and told us her life story as if we were there just to listen to her. Food was good (and overpriced), but never again.
Like the restaurant and food. Noise level is very loud. Otherwise good
Server Sophia was awesome. Great reasobly priced wine suggestion. Remembered my constructive criticism of octopus from 1st visit. 2nd time. Will keep coming back. Desert great.
We had Jeff as our server. He is very good — very attentive! The food he recommend was good. We will be back again.
Never disappoints; great atmosphere and great foot!
The food was excellent to good. The bream was excellent as was the peach salad and polenta. The squid ink pasta was too spicy to our taste buds. It was MUCH TOO loud for us but we are an older group. I'd go back mid week, mid afternoon but I'd never go on a Saturday night.
Fresh made past to die for, garlic bread off the charts, cheesecake phenomenal. Try the Italian Stallion!
I was greeted with..."the patio is closed" despite people already sitting out there???? and the fact that it's their nicest place to sit.
The food...a dish recommended heavily by my service team, was remarkably bland and tasted "cheap". In this town, a below average menu and snotty host staff will never make it.
First, I requested a booth and have told the restaurant thru Open Table that I was celebrating my wife's birthday. When we arrived, the hostess did not even acknowledged that we had requested a booth. We were stuck at a small two person table right in front of the kitchen. The place was way too noisy for a celebrity restaurant. The Octopus appetizer was okay. My wife ordered the Veal Milanese and it was way overprice d ($62.00), too dry and unappetizing. I had the Lamb Shank and that was very chewy. The server was the only thing we could say above average. Of course we were disappointed and at a lost to how and why is Scott doing these. Does he really care about his reputation? Do you think we would be back to this restaurant?
waiter did not give us information regarding social menu
Outstanding food. I recommend the chef tasting course!
It was great
This place has very good pasta, friendly and prompt service, and the salted caramel budino is to die for!
Tyler was awesome and made our experience even better!! Our food was excellent as expected and the dessert was the cherry on top!
Wonderful! Can’t say enough about this place. Great service, food and atmosphere. If you are in Vegas this is a must - definitely worth leaving the Strip for!
From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated with value--our presence was not only appreciated, but as customers, we were also valued. Our party opted to try different items and share as a family. This worked out well in that we got to try six or seven different dishes and everyone got to taste everything. Our server was attentive but not hovering, and worked with our desire to share. There was nothing that I wouldn't order again, and several items that I would like to have perpetual access to. The food was well-prepared and presented beautifully. One member of our party had a birthday, and the presentation of her birthday dessert was ideal and tasty. We would come back again--well worth the price on the menu.
We ordered red bream and veal chop for dinner. Fish was overcooked; kale was tender but way too salty. Mentioned it to the server but nothing was offered or followed up. Veal Chop was tender but with unacceptable amount of tendon. It also lacks that unique veal flavor people pay for. Close to $70 is reasonable for a quality veal chop; way overprice for one that is inferior in quality.
A beautifully simple but elegant interior. Relaxing and warm. Very good service. Excellent food choices, all visibly eye catching but outstanding taste! Try the Buona Notte drink to end your dining experience, will not be disappointed.
Lousy service. Extremely overpriced food. There are so many better Italian restaurants out there. Doubtful this place will stay in business.
We went to eat there for my dads birthday.
It was fun and good food.
The server and waiter had good customer service too.
We love this restaurant!!! Fantastic food and great atmosphere. The service could be just a bit more attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something delicious and casually elegant for dinner!
You must add more affordable wine selections. Minimum price for a bottle of wine $100?? That is ridiculous.
Food and service were excellent!!
Masso is a great combination of fine dining and a semi-casual atmosphere. The staff is great, friendly, knowledgeable, and the right level of attentive. Chef Scott's dishes and the Sommllier's wine picks take me back to the Italy I love.
I can never eat pasta the same way again. Everything was perfect!
WE had a great meal and the staff was fantastic, catering to our needs and requests. First time at the restaurant and I look forward to going back to Masso Osteria.
Food was great. Outdoor seating nice, but parking lot view not good. Food Channel on every tv, really?
