From acclaimed chef, author and restaurateur Scott Conant comes a quintessential Italian eatery for local gourmands and travelers alike, Masso Osteria. Located at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa and inspired by the rocky desert landscape that surrounds Summerlin – “Masso” is Italian for “boulder” – the restaurant captures the convivial spirit of a classic osteria, offering refined, craveable Italian fare in a lively setting. A fitting destination for both special occasions and casual weeknights with friends, Masso is a return to form for chef Conant, whose menu of house made pastas, antipasti and savory wood-fired sides reflects his guiding philosophy: to create unforgettable dining experiences rooted in soulful cooking and generous hospitality.

This was our second time and overall it was good but not as great as the first time. The pasta dish we both had was a little dry and could have used a little more gravy. The meat was not as tender as our first time.

The food was very good. However our waiter was very slow to approach our table. We had to ask a passing manager for water and answers to questions we had on the menu. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She even took our order and passed it to the waiter who finally arrived. I would give this place one more try to see if service improved.

We ordered the tomato salad, polenta, ricotta mascarpone gnudi, and roasted carrots. Everything was beautiful, and delicious, but our favorite was the polenta. It was amazing!! So good... best thing I’ve had in a very long time! Our server, Joel was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Being locals,we were again very pleased with the results of our second visit and plan on making this our Italian restaurant of choice.
Everything on the menu has something special about it,indicating “creativity”.The service provided by Kelly was professional and extremely helpful in making for a great dinner.

Waiter was great. Taught us all what was what on the menu. One guest not so thrilled with the al dente pasta. I bet one could ask for fully cook. Poor Chef.....

This is our second time and will return.

The service is outstanding. The menu presents difficult choices and the only solution is to commit to yourself to return and try the items you knew you just wouldn't have room for.

Went to celebrate my wife's birthday while we were in Las Vegas for a long weekend. Made the reservation using OpenTable. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time but were told that they would need to get a table ready for us. After waiting almost 25 minutes, we inquired about our table and were told that Saturday's were really busy and that nobody was leaving their table. Finally, after another 10 minutes (now 25 minutes after our original reservation time) we were seated.

From this point on, it was an amazing meal. Chef Conant has created a fantastic menu that is both elegant and simple. The pasta dishes were amazing and are not to be missed as was the grilled octopus. The lamb shank was spectacular!

While it's a good 20-30 minute drive from the Strip, it's well worth the visit!

The hostess was awful. Why bother with a reservation. Food was ok and not comparable to Salute. Some dishes are way over priced and don't deliver in taste. If it wasn't for the friendly server, it would have been the ultimate disappointment. I will not return.

The food is so good! The variety is nice, you must get the spaghetti. Hard to rave about spaghetti, but trust me you'll go back for more. I think the drink prices are too high for the amount in the drink. I'm not a prude or a lush, that is one area they need to adjust. Other than that.... wonderful place.

Great food, especially the small plates. A bit noisy, hard to carry on a conversation across the table. Great wine list. Parking can be a challenge on a weekend evening.

No bread, no Olive Oil on table. Small portions. Very bland overall for taste. Wish they would have brought us a seasoning rack or maybe a large salt shaker to get some flavor into the food! I'm sure if Scott Conant had tasted this food, he'd have "chopped" the Chef! Also, the design of much of the seating has you sitting almost in the lap of someone you don't know! Because of that, an intimate dinner is virtually impossible! Honestly, the old Salute trattoria that was there before was much better! Sort of sad......Famous Chef, so now smaller portions, higher prices, tight seating, and no flavor. Unless those things get fixed, I'm afraid this place will not he around for very long. To many great Italian options here in Las Vegas! Our server, however, was great. She was very professional and knowledgeable!

First time since the space housed Salute which was always great. Interior deco was darker than before. Food was very good. Service was below par. Asked for bread twice, asked for pasta spoons twice, asked to see a wine list that never received, asked for water multiple times, asked for parmigiana cheese when we had pasta entrees, no side plates for bread. You can put a celebrity name on the door and have the best food but if the service level is below standard, how can you charge $65 for an entre?

Had a lovely experience at Masso. Our server was Jason and was very good and most pleasant.
Th menu has something for everyone and the portion sizes were plentiful but not overwhelming. The food came out in a very timely fashion, we were never rushed, and everything we ordered was beautifully presented and very tasty.
We will definitely go back.

We tried the tasting menu. It started out strong with lots of delicious bites, but it dwindled once we got to the pasta course. It was okay, but not what you would expect. The chicken and fish were lackluster and the combination of flavors in the banana bread pudding were a little strange. Also, the texture was dryer than I would have liked. The cheesecake was tasty, light, and slightly tangy. The tuna, the kale salad, the garlic bread and the POLENTA were yummy. The polenta!!! Wow:)

Went to try out another "Celebrity Chef" restaurant. Was extremely disappointed with the food. Ordered garlic bread and sent it back 2 times. It was like a pizza with salty cheese and sea salt on top. It was way too salty to eat. We order fish that was bland. No capers or lemon.. just burnt kale in a platter that was soooo hot I burn my arm twice trying to get the fish out. The waiter should have served us the fish but maybe that is too old school. The waiter was a little on the rude side. He was more into showing us his knowledge of the head chef and not really serving us. I had the feeling that he thought we just didn't have the sophisticate palates need to eat at this upscale eatery. I have been eating at 5 start restaurants for many years and the best experiences were with restaurants who know how to treat customers not ones that have a superiority complex. And what with sending the bill with a green pen and a bumpy writing surface. Will never go back. If I want a good meal I will just go to Mesa Grill. Bobbie Flay really knows how to run a restaurant. PS.. the noise level was loud and the music was ridiculous. Sammy Davis singing The Candy Man in an Italian restaurant???

Excellent food and fantastic atmosphere. The meatball appetizer and veal chop parmigiana were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The service, however, was poor. I will absolutely give this place another try, but if the service is as inattentive and lacking as it was on this visit, I wouldn't return no matter how good the food is.

The food was at best mediocre. I got the prefix dinner that came with several courses. The spacing was awful. Waited for ever course way to long. I also bought the accompanying wine pairing. Once the Wine sommelier took our order she never came back to describe the wines or why they were chosen to go with a particular dish.
Finally, it was getting so late we took our dessert to go.

First of all, we went for a birthday celebration and told them that but they NEVER mentioned that at our table. Our food took VERY VERY LONG to arrive. They apologized but so what. None of us like our food entrees although the grilled shrimp appetizer was good. Needless to say, we will not even consider returning here.

The food was very good & presented very well. Some items seemed to be overpriced but overall the prices were OK. Was seated @ a table by a hostess @ 5:10 where the waiter for that table wasn't due to come in till 5:30. After a 10 minute wait I had to ask for a waiter & he apologized & was very helpful & efficient. Everyone had a really good meal & we will return.

This has now become our new “go to” favorite restaurant. It’s nice to see something high-end in Summerlin! The staff here is awesome. Rudy runs a tight ship - kudos to the team for making a great product! The food is to die for. Some of our favorites that you MUST try: the beef tartare, the nonas stuffed peppers, the Veal Parm, the lamb and wood roasted chicken. The wine list is great, and we have YET to make it to dessert. Service is great and this time our server Sofia was a pure gem and attentive. You're also going to love the patio and the bar. This Scott Conant treat is not to be missed. Having been to other Scott Conant restaurants, we believe this one tops them all. Do even think about not going. Just go!
