Massimo's has been a Fremont destination and landmark since opening in 1976. The name Massimo's is not only the middle name of our late founder but also means “great”. The food, service and atmosphere is the passion of owner Bill Rinetti Jr. We strive to create a cuisine that is fresh, seasonal and prepared with great care and also include some of our classical preparations including our Caesar Salad which is made in the dining room. The fare is American with bits of Italian influences. We have been featured on KQED "Check Please Bay Area".

We requested David as our waiter, we love the ambiance in the bar, David specializes in table side Caesar salad preparation, so we ordered 4 salads. The food was perfect, the wine was even better.

                                                                                                    Decided to visit Massimo's for an anniversary dinner. Informed the restaurant it was a special occasion so I was really disappointed when they walked us through the dining room to the trailer park which is one of these expanded dining rooms where you sit at crappy tables and eat with crummy tin utensils. Our waitress was very uncomfortable. Seemed like she didn't know how to do her job at all. Didn't bring water, disappeared for long periods of time, couldn't remember who ordered what.... but the food was great. This location is really poor for the quality of the food and with this restaurant could be in should be. Note to the owners? When you have crappy tables you should put table cloths on them. The wine list was absolutely horrible. Not sure will ever go back for dinner there but probably will go for lunch.

                                                                                                    We dined indoors on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy; most tables were filled. Few patrons wore masks. The service was very good except for a plate of food dropped by a server nearby, which made quite a clatter. There were one or two children in the restaurant, but they were well-behaved and the restaurant was pleasantly quiet. The chicken marsala and the double cut pork chop were both excellent and served hot (except for the green beans, which were lukewarm). The wine-by-the glass menu is a little weak on reds, but the wines are reasonably priced. Although the Mudd Pie dessert has gotten skimpier over the years, it is still a tasty way to wind up the meal.

                                                                                                    The Valentines dinner service was dissappointing. First they could find my name under the reservation. Then, starters and cocktails came in about 45minutes since we got it. I understand its busy but dont fill up tables you cannot serve timely. When the food come in it wasnt even that good honestly. The crabcake was mediocre for its price. Filet mignon lacks flavor and was a bit tough to chew. Again I understand that theyre busy and that probably the kitchen is not able to keep up. Its just not worth 200$ bill that we got. We left early and skipped our desert. Kinda ruined our valentines but i am willing to give them another chance on a regular dinner service.

                                                                                                    Want to give it another shot on a regular day. We went on valentines day and they seemed understaffed a bit. Not their fault at all. Wish there was some music in the background. Sat at the bar before I table was ready, and it seems like they may have forgotten about us. Drinks were good and stiff. We were seated in the back corner near a fire extiguisher and exit door;wasn’t the nicest ambience for us. We both had sea bass. Fish had bones in it (be careful) which was kind of a turn off for my wife. This place is SUPER out dated. I expected a bit more with all the reviews claiming that Massimos is the “nicest” place in a Fremont. Overall OK experience.

                                                                                                    For a $70 filet mingon it was almost tasteless tasted cheap (but it was cooked perfectly) the clam chowder was bland no flavor I feel maybe the chef was really busy last night and forgot to season. The waiters were also very confused messing up multiple tables orders, but I’m also assuming that’s because they were busy. Overall will not be eating here again was very disappointed with the food for the price.

                                                                                                    We ordered the garlic and tomato bruschetta, filet mignon, pork chop, and chicken Marsala. Our soup was delicious as well. Tomato bisque and clam chowder. Dessert was a chocolate torte and creme brûlée. Service by Ms. Sunny was outstanding. She was very friendly and professional. Classy atmosphere. We had a wonderful meal. Cooked and presented perfectly all around!
