It didn’t meet the expectations for a fine dining.
Service was very good,. Steak is just ok for a price of $49 and its was chewy.
Delicious food, well put together plates. I had the cedar plank salmon and fiance had the filet mignon. Would have liked a little larger piece of filet mignon for cost, otherwise we really enjoyed our meals and appreciated all the flavors of the dishes. The wait staff was very professional.
The food is consistently tasty. Service is also exceptional. Prices are moderate. A neighborhood gem.
We have been here before and always liked it but this last visit seemed a little off.
There was 6 of us celebrating a birthday and they put us in the back room which had no ambiance. If I had to be placed there again I would not go. Also the chairs are very small. I was uncomfortable so I know the gentleman that were with us were extremely uncomfortable.
When I worked for a high tech company years ago, my boss took us to Massimo for business dinner; twenty years later, Massimo is still here, I am amazed that they keep up
The great service, wonderful and beautiful environment to have a quiet moment to enjoy the meal, Very delicious food and great service! Thank you!
Service was great. Food was very good. Unfortunately seated next to a family with a baby and a boisterous 4 year old.
Very friendly staff. They where busy and from the hostess to the waiter they informed us of the big parties and we may have a long wait on our orders. The waiter continued to check in with us. Great service. The food was delicious. From the starter to the dessert excellent.
The serving size was so small that I left the restaurant hungry. The ambience is nice but it’s super loud with nothing on the walls. I felt as if people were eaves dropping on our conversation when somebody next to me asked me a question about what we were saying.
Food was delicious but very small print for example we are he tuna for us was three small pieces
John was attentive at first, but as the restaurant became busier, we had to ask for more water, bread and butter, and he did not come by for periods of time. The restaurant seemed understaffed and the waiter and busboy overwhelmed.in addition, he, totally forgot my nieces birthday. Oh well, food was great.
Took my husband for his birthday. It was perfect evening. Great food, great service!! We had champagne, oysters, great meal-lamb shank for me, halibut for him . We love to come to Massimo’s!!
Excellent food and service as usual!
Our waiter was extremely rude. The food was not good at all. I paid $90 and I didn't even touch my drink or my pasta. It was not a good $90 spent at all. I will never go back there and I would never recommend it to anyone.
A Fremont institution. Probably the best restaurant in Fremont. Remodel retains the 1970s charm (tufted, curved booths) but with an elegant and understated update. All dishes carefully prepared. Only complaint would be that the Caesar salad prepared tableside was overly dressed.
Great restaurant for my birthday celebration. Free desert on your birthday 🎂
A nice evening celebrating three birthdays.....scallops were very good......
I honestly have to say no I would not recommend it after the dinner we had Monday night. The chicken parmigiana my husband ordered was NOT cooked like it used to be. It had diced tomatoes on it & drowned in a sauce that wasnt good very acidy. We used to receive a good amount of spaghetti this time it looked like a portion for a 2yr old. The dinner salad was very skimpy & the minestrone soup had no flavor. They put the end cuts from leftover vegetables in it.
The remodel if the restaurant is beautiful but the quality of food has dropped.
Also they used to give a complimentary birthday dessert now they dont even do that.
Unless things change we won't be back.
First visit and it was more than it appears from outside. We will return!
The swordfish was delicious. The waiter did not give us the attention that I am used to at your restaurant.
Every bit of our experience from top to bottom was excellent! If We are ever in the area again visiting from Phoenix we will definitely be back.
I liked everything we had. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. I like the quiet booths. We spent a lot, but that was because it was a special occasion, so we splurged on drinks, appetizer, dessert and coffee. Everything was delicious. Would definitely return for a special dinner.
An elegant old fashioned REAL Italian restaurant reminiscent of those in New York.
Great service and excellent food. Good date night venue.
Steak was yummy. Appetizers were delicious. Bread was tasty.
We went for our 2 year anniversary - and, it did not disappoint.
Love David! Won’t go unless we get David! Most fantastic server in the Bay Area!
We had the shrimp cocktail, 5 for 2 people?, and were delicious. Caesar salad for two, deliciousness. Both had the Petra le sole and both were unimpressed. Would never order again. Cheesecake dessert was good, spumoni is not true spumoni, chocolate ice cream with strawberry ice cream. Overall, we were disappointed.
Always a pleasure to dine at Massimo's. The food is always delicious, well prepared and presented. The service is superb. Meeting friends for dinner, Massimo's is our favorite.
One of my favor restaurant in Fremont, Always have energetic service and foods.
Great food; professional service; new interior is very nice.
Great place in Fremont, elegant yet casual. Our waiter Daniel was very nice and attentive. Food was very delicious, would come here again for sure.
We had a wonderful time. The hostess was very gracious and efficient. We were seated immediately. The dining room is a little dark, so it’s the perfect ambiance for a romantic meal. There were 3 of us in our dining party. We all ordered completely different entrees and we all loved our meals. Massimo’s is definitely on my list of fine dining with excellent food.
Fabulous meal with outstanding unrushed service! Highly recommend!
Reservation was at 7pm and they had already run out of potato’s. I would think potato’s are the least expensive thing to buy and they didn’t have any. Was offered French fries with my Seabass. Seabass wasn’t that great either but my husbands Rack of Lamb was good (his second choice because the rib eye was sold out). No wine bucket either to keep our bottle of wine chilled. This place is out go to for special occasions - not tonight I guess. Not sure what happened here.
Our server Sunny was fabulous though-none of the feedback is a reflection of her attentiveness or service.
Have known Massimo's for decades and it still comes through as a great place to dine. We met with some friends for dinner and spent almost 3 hours chatting and enjoying the night. The dining room was comfortable and our server David was extremely professional and playful.
Will be back, again and again.
Always exceptional in service, food, and hosppitality
Food and service was outstanding
Great food, great atmosphere. It was my fiance’s birthday and it was a wonderful place to celebrate. We brought our own wine but the wine selection was decently priced and fairly good choices. Definitely go on an empty stomach because you’re going to want everything on the menu!
Date night dinner last night and we hadn't been to Massimo's in a number of years. We were very pleased with the updated interior, menu and atmosphere.
A couple of things were very off. The openings from the bar area leading to the restaurant allow lots of bar noise into an otherwise nice dining area. My wife's dinner (Halibut) looked great, but was very undercooked. Waitress quickly apologized and brought it back to the kitchen. She returned quickly with a new plate (good), but the fish was again even more undercooked. The waitree confirmed both times. The third time was a charm. However later in the meal, my wife found a hair in her dinner. She but it aside and we didnt's say anything until the waitress noticed the hair on the table.
She apologized and offered to bring us a dessert. We said no thanks. A few minutes later the bill came & CC was taken/returned. It was the last we saw the waitress.
There was nothing removed /adjusted from the bill. I brought my own wine & the bill contained the corkage fee (per the menu). It was disturbing that three errors occured and nothing was reflected on the bill.
Maybe passively aggressive, I removed the $18 corkage fee, gave the server an $18 tip (keep thing bill at the same amount ($99). We walked out. Not a good experience.
It is one of our favorites. Close to home. They recently remodeled and it looks awesome. We have not been in awhile, but it is nice to see familiar faces. Feels almost like family/ friends. The ribeye steak was delicious.
Lovely date lunch, excellent Italian food, especially veal
Lovely restaurant! Good fresh Italian food and the service was excellent.
