Service and food are always excellent. The salmon was delicious. My husband loves the Caesar salad and always enjoys the Filet. It is our favorite place to spend a lovely evening.
Fantastic food had the gnocchi and carbonara sooooo good !!!! Our waiter was fantastic will be coming back !!!
Always enjoy Massimo's. Creative dishes well -executed; good drinks; pleasant efficient service. Not too pricey. What's not to like?
Service was prompt& friendly and our meals were prepared perfectly.
They overbooked the time we were there and we were forced to be seated outside.
FIRST VISIT IN A LONG TIME. WILL DEFINETLEY BE BACK
We took friends and had a wonderful evening. The meal was tasty and great for conversation with friends.
I’m not sure which was better, the incredible food or the incredible service. This was our first experience with the Walnut Creek location and we were thrilled. Though there are many restaurants in Walnut Creek, this is our new favorite. We can’t wait to take our snobby “foodie “ children to experience it.
This was our fourth visit to Massimo, time again around an event at the Lesher Center. Service was not up to its usual self because apparently some bussers didn't show up. But wait staff did what they could to make up. Food was excellent as always. Even my mundane spaghetti Bolognese was just wonderful. We'll be back.
Absolutely would recommend Massimo’s! Can not believe we have lived in WC for almost 25 years and have never been there. Everyone in our party loved the food. Good portion sizes-and absolutely delicious. Myself and another person in my party requested slight changes and different combinations from the regular menu, and these were honored and met with just smiles and a response of “whatever you want” which was so nice and refreshing. We got our food just the way we wanted and were both very happy. I had the wedge salad, which was the best I had ever had with a side of grilled chicken which was absolutely delicious. Best grilled chicken I had ever had too-which seems to be a small thing-but it was truly delicious. We will be regular customers from now on!! Thank you Massimo’s!!
Owner should invest in some new cushions for those chairs. There is no cush left in them. For such a nice place, with so many elderly patrons, like myself, I'm shocked he won't invest in some new coverings with some comfort built in. My but was sore after 2 hours there. Maybe we weren't supposed to spend two hours?
Had a great lunch of orzo chicken soup and a salad, dressed with a lovely piece of salmon. My lunch mate had a different salad with large grilled prawns. This is a can’t miss place.
Danny, our waiter, was helpful with his suggestions. Great atmosphere with expertly cooked food.
A great restaurant with amazing food! One of my favorite places!
Excellent food and service. The pork chop was perfection juicy tender amazing. The halibut special was spectacular and the salmon excellent as usual cooked to perfection
The service was very prompt and friendly. Our meals were all excellent and served in a timely manner. My only issue is the place was a bit noisy, because it was busy. Would definitely go there again and recommend to friends.
Massimos is good middle of the road Italian restaurant - The service was very good- the food good with the exception of the chicken parmigian was good also . The carbonara is excellent.
The chicken was served on a bed of completely overcooked mushy elbow macaroni with underit. The marinara sauce had NO flavor, the chicken was dry and burnt in spots
Make sure to reserve a table with Shawna - she’s the best!!!
Portions did seem a little small, however the flavors made up for it. Definitely recommend the halibut, it was a special and sooo good. The cocktails were also really tasty. I did feel like it was a little loud. We went with another couple and sometimes it seemed hard to carry on a conversation. All that being said we will be back again soon!!!
Excellent service despite a busy Friday evening. Loved the cannelloni.
Very convenient to the Lesher Theatre. We took our granddaughter here after a show.
The food was very good as was the service.
Great dinner and great service, as always.
I've been coming here for years... one of my favorites. Great Ambiance, excellent food, outstanding service. I booked their upstairs banquet room for a birthday party several years ago and was equally impressed. Max is always there, there is no absentee owner here. This will always be one of my go-to's in Walnut Creek.
Massimo's always delivers a wonderful dining experience. The specials are always intriguing and worth trying. The normal menu has a variety from which to choose so that no one in your group will be without choices from seafood, to steak to classic Italian. The wine list is extensive so again, everyone will be able to have wine to their liking. Parking in Walnut Creek is usually a bit of a bear but, because Massimo's is across the street from the multilevel parking lot that serves the Lesher Theater, parking is not going to be an issue.
Massimo has been one of our favorite restaurants for years. This latest visit did not disappoint. On this visit, the restaurant was crowed due to live performances at the theater across the street. However, the service, as usual, was spot on. Our server, Lori, was very friendly, helpful. And efficient. The décor and ambiance is elegant but relaxed. Our entrees of the Korobuta pork chop, the Duck breast, and the Halibut special were all excellent. There is an excellent cocktail menu (try the Godiva Chocolate Martini) and a great wine list including a very nice selection by the glass. A parking garage is right across the street.
Good, solid food and great service!!!!!! We like the proximity to the Lesher Center which allows us to have a great dinner before the performance.
We have been here many, many times and the food and service is always excellent! It is across the street from the Lescher Center, but a reservation is needed post event there. It is as great at lunch time as at dinner. The specials are super as well as the usual fare on the menu and desserts are specially served with a candle if it is your birthday! I highly recommend this restaurant.
We are married over 32 years and my husband always remembers the date we became engaged. This restaurant is a perfect place to celebrate special days.
Old time fav in Walnut Creek. Max runs a tight ship. Quality of food and service is excellent.
Great Bar scene. Plenty of parking across the street
A BIT N0ISEY, SPECIAL BELOW PAR, THE OTHE ENTRIES EXCELLENT.
A FIRST TIME VISIT, I DEFINATELY WILL GO BACK!
THE SERVICE WAS FABULOUS!
Great food and atmosphere. Staff on top of everything and very friendly. We will be back soon.
The ambiance was good, the service was very good and the food was good as well. I would recommend Massimo to friends. It's one of the higher end restaurants in Walnut Creek and it has been around for quite some time, which says something about a restaurant.
We met with old friends we haven't seen in a long time. The service was top notch. The servers were informative, helpful, bright spirited, food (as Always) was Yummy! Yummy!
Restaurant very noisy. Piano player annoying and way too loud. Special of the noght California Halibut was not good, very dry. Veal Scallopini was very good.
I highly recommend this restaurant. We have dined here 3 times in the last 3 months. The dinners were all very good. The Waldorf Salad is exceptional. And, the Raspberry Creme Brulee was out of this world! My only complaint was that the noise level was high. It seems that most restaurants are like this now given the popularity of dining in Walnut Creek.
Excellent food and service ! Quiet and near the window !
Nice old restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek.
I chose this restaurant because it looked nice, the menu was interesting for a business dinner and the location was perfect for meeting coming from two opposite locations. I regretted making the reservation the moment we were walked in and were seated, smack dab in the middle of a dinning room crammed with so many tables, it clearly screamed, "We want to maximize our revenue even at the expense of the customer's dining experience." It was absolutely impossible to carry on a conversation with the other 3 people at the table. This restaurant needs to reduce the number of tables by 15-20% and then it might be more pleasurable. The server was absolutely lovely in her demeanor despite having to squeeze between tables to serve and seemed so rushed with all she had to do that despite the white table cloths you could have been in the nosiest coffee shop packed to the gills. I have no problem spending money on fine dining and do want the place to have a bit of liveliness to it but when the noise level is deafening, it's not worth it. My ears literally hurt by the time I left the restaurant. I know this place is a Walnut Creek institution, but no thanks, plenty of other places to choose from...live and learn.
Food and service was excellent as usual.
Massimo has been a dependable friend for as long as I can remember (over a 15 years). Food is always good. Staff is always good. I always look for a special occasion to have an excuse to dine there.
Service was exceptional
