I should have checked my bag with the leftovers because the service was just OK I just heated up my pasta carbonara when I opened it up it was my friends salad. I’m mad I’m
The food and service was excellent.
Because the weather there was a lot of noise cars and motorcycles but this was also part of the whole atmosphere and we got to see many interesting vehicles!
Last time we visited the restaurant in Massachusetts and we equally loved the food and experience in both places. Will be back
Appetizers were not good. Calamari was few and soggy. No flavor and tasted like burnt oil. Fig pizza not good.
Pasta fagolie lacked flavor. Entries were good.
Lovely late brunch, very attentive server. Food was great but the focaccia was amazing!!
Very nice experience. Great food great service. Went there for graduation brunch and it exceeded our expectations
Massimo had a buzzing ambiance and the food was good. The price was a little steep foe the cost but overall a good experience. It was so busy that we were barely waited on.
We were seated at a high table, which we chose over an outdoor table thinking it would be warmer inside. Since we had never been to this restaurant before we had no idea what to expect. The hightop was situated next to a thorofare to and from the kitchen and the bathroom. The view I had was of the working side of the restaurant, not a pleasant view. My wife and daughter had a view of the TV which was playing mixed martial arts. In other words, they had to watch two people punching each other in the face while eating dinner. It had to be the worst table in the restaurant. My suggestion is to eliminate this table. It's not worth the few extra people you can seat.
Took 3 hours to eat and server kept forgetting things. Hour between first and second courses.
Prefer any number of other Federal Hill eateries to Massimo’s.
Great service and delicious food. Hustle and bustle noise was a bit distracting but overall highly recommend.
This was first weekend of an Alfresco experience. Service was poor 30 minutes until water. Had to ask for silverware three times. Waitress complained about heat and over worked. Table was plastic unstable and dirty. This is so out of character for this place very disappointed. Staff looked un happy, confused and not well supervised. Watitress left bill.no thank you
This was my first visit to Providence and I was thrilled to see such a robust gluten free menu. Our server, Danielle, was great and ensured our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. We ordered the carbonara and the short ribs with gnocchi, excited that both were available as GF entrees. Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Il Massimo and we will definitely be returning!
Awesome food and service. I would recommend it! I really enjoyed it!
Far to much salt, on everything, hard to eat, very weak drinks
We chose to sit outside where city work was being done, they did not have control of the noise.
Excellent meal, great service; will add this to the return visit list.
Wonderful anniversary experience. The food was amazing, the workers were super polite, all around a great time.
Amazing service! Very impressed by the Gluten Free menu. Everything tasted fabulous and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Staffing seemed to be a little short but with Covid labor shortage it is to be expected.
Food was excellent, nice tender veal parm. Bread pudding & Vanilla gelato for dessert was delicious.
Very good food, good menu selection, great staff, reasonable prices.
Everything was fabulous Owen our waiter was the best
I had heard good things about Massimo and love Pane e Vino, so I was excited to check them out. I have food allergies and was told they had plenty of gluten free options (which they did). I found the overall atmosphere to be pretty boisterous, even on a Monday. It’s great for groups, but not as intimate as I would have liked for a date. Our server was pleasant, but we had to repeatedly request items (water, gf bread-which we were told would come out, utensils (soup came out with no spoon), etc. Oysters came out poorly shucked, with lots of sand and broken bits of shell in them. That derailed my enjoyment of them immensely. The rest of the meal was good, but not as good as Pane, in my opinion. The entrees were brought out while the appetizers were still in front of us, and those dishes were never removed while we ate our meal, even though empty. I’ve had better food and service on the hill, so I honestly won’t be rushing back. There are just too many other great options. Hopefully, things get better and I’ll have a reason to return.
Had the best evening with four girlfriends to chat and drink and eat for the evening, post COVID. We had a great table upstairs. Loved the menu. We all loved our dishes, including the oysters - which were a highlight! Great cocktail menu and wine list. Several people got the gnocchi, which they loved. Good salads and other pasta dishes too.Owen gave us great service, and had plenty of help with some busboys, who seemed new to the job. Overall delightful! Eager to go back!
Food was very good , service right on point . Valet parking was a plus!
Definitely going back there!
We all enjoyed our brunch meals. My two friends had the french toast, I believe, and I had he Massimo brunch: bacon, sausage, eggs, black baked beans - fabulous! Our waiter was Harry, and he was phenomenal. We will return!
The hostess was less than friendly, but everything after was exceptional. Gabrielle, our server, was a superstar!
Based upon the reviews expected a much better dining experience.
The brunch was mediocre at best
Dinner was great. We were seated in a spot that we did not like and the hostess was amazing and accommodating to moving us to a great spot which we really appreciated! The food was great, and so was the wine. Service was good, but took a little longer than you would expect. Overall it was great and we will definitely be back!
Bartender Dylan was fantastic. Great food & service.
I was sooooo excited to see the gluten free menu. Excellent choices. I had potato gnocchi which I have not had in years. The charred octopus appetizer was also excellent. Dined outdoors on a beautiful evening. I hope the outdoor dining remains.
Fantastic place to celebrate my birthday...we had a wonderful server, and the food and wine were perfect.
Outside dining with shade was great! Waitress was wonderful and food was quite good ( mussels as appetizer and braised short ribs and linguini with clams as entrees all hit the spot. The lemon sorbet made a nice finish.Great food at a reasonable price.
Overall, expensive and “meh” food. Location in Dedham is much better.
Amazing food, environment and service! Totally recommend it
Great food and service. Our server, Danielle was lovely. They were accommodating to substitutions.
Food and service are always great. Big shout out to our server Bene! Had her the last 2 visits. Fantastico!
Really nice experience. BethAnn was so friendly and made sure everything was perfect. Didn’t feel rushed at all. She let us set the pace.
Pasta Fagiole was maybe the best I’ve ever had. The octopus app was delicious too. Very tender with loads of flavor.
Do yourself a favor and try the duck confit, crispy skin but tender and juicy meat with fig ravioli in a mascarpone and walnut sauce.
The manager came over to check on us and talked about the menu with everything made to order. Nice touch
All in all, a great time. Looking forward to going back.
Extremely noisy from street traffic.
Even though all other categories were 5 stars., the noise levels would have me look for another restaurant.
