Very accommodating as our party changed in size 3 times. Food was absolutely incredible. Great job all around.
Great service, big portions and good value. We went here prior to the Celtics game and found a gem, near the TD Garden , not overcrowded and got a great meal prior to the game. Staff was very friendly and the service was awesome!
We love the food and the atmosphere and always celebrate at Massiminos after the marathon. It feels like home with the waitress and "crew". Just what's needed! Have both protein for the runner and enough excellent pasta dishes for all.
Disappointed that Menu prices were jacked up so high for marathon weekend.
Food was great as usual. A little disappointed that items on menu were higher due to Marathon Weekend but still a favorite place. Will return. Music a little high but no deal breaker.
Average food for increased prices only because of the Marathon. If you eat pasta for around 30$ you expect more.
The service was extremely fast, we had a starter and the main course within a very short time, we couldn’t drink the wine that fast. Paid the bill after 40 minutes without being asked about a dessert or a coffee.
BEWARE: The Owner changed the menu for the Boston marathon and increased the prices by $10 a plate. The actual menu selection was also worse. Unacceptable.
Great restaurant, food wise and atmosphere! I always return here when coming for the Boston Marathon!
Don't let the "off the beaten path" concept charm you into visiting this mediocre restaurant. Limited menu, boxed penne pasta and food that was ok (garden salad, chicken parm and some homemade fusilli with onions). Whitney Houston played on a loop, loudly. Decor is dated, space is cramped. Would not go back and wouldn't suggest you go, either.
Would have rated higher but restaurant jacked up prices with limited menu for marathon. Meals delicious and food and service were excellent.
Awesome. Real an quintessential Italian local dining.
Very average with an exceptionally poor wine-by-the-glass selection. If large portions of everyday Italian at a reasonable price is your thing, I’d recommend this place. Don’t expect to enjoy your wine unless u buy a bottle.
We loved this place. Our trolley driver was Italian and I asked her where she eats and this was her favorite! It was great in every way.
Great staff, homey atmosphere, great food!
While the food was quite good we had a few problems at our recent visit. First, there were no soups available despite being on the menu. Then we were told there were no coffee or desserts on “event day.” So needless to say, it was a disappointing experience.
Food was just ok. Sauce very garlic heavy. Veal had odd consistency. Portions good. Nice menu.
Unless you absolutely don't care where you are eating and just want to be fed before a game at the TD Garden, there are much better venues for great food in the North End of Boston than Massiminos. This was our second trip and each time we were seated down in the basement bar area. I've no idea what the rest of the place feels like but the basement bar is absolutely dreary. You feel like cattle squeezed into a makeshift dining area with cheap tables set-up too close to each other. Our food was certainly good and the service was pleasant but I'd rather take out from Massiminos.
Food mediocre, service not great. Our waiter did not ask us if we wanted a salad with our meals And he brought us our check without asking if we would like dessert or coffee.
Arrived early, before Celtic's game to avoid crowds. Close to the arena. Food very good. Large portions. Specials are expensive. Good service. Small overall spaces for tables. Can be above average noise levels when full, but not overbearing. Took granddaughter before game. Not really recommended for very young children. We had a good time.
They sponsored my softball team. They are awesome!! Great food!!
The food was amazing! The service was fantastic as well. The restaurant itself is really small and not much to look at once you’re inside but the quality of the food and service makes that inconsequential. We ended up in the basement which at first I thought was weird but ultimately was really nice. Very cozy and intimate and quieter than the upstairs. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for great Italian!!
Great food, Drinks were amazing and great waiter!! Would definitely be going back!
The food was very good, the place was noisy with unusually loud music playing not what you would expect for an Italian restaurant more like a bar. The servers were at times chaotic and trying to speak over the music which added to the not what I would expect from a highly rated restaurant. We had not even sat down and the server was telling us the specials. We did enjoy our dinners at the end of the day.
Our first time here and already cant wait to come back! A new favorite 🙌😍
830 reservations that finally got sat at 9. Weird waiting experience. Bartender was good and nice, owner seemed curt.
The kitchen made me a special meal when I wanted to have a meat sauce. It was DELICIOUS!
This has become a "go to" for us. Had a great dinner celebrating my son's 17th birthday. Will definitely go again!
Very authentic. Good food and service. A bit close quarters, but that's its charm.
The food was fabulous but we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. We tickets to the Bruins game and we were late due to being seating late. It was way too loud.
We made a reservation 2 months in advance and when we arrived they said there would be a 30-45 minute wait. IY was the Night of a Bruins game and they took in too many walk ins to accommodate their reservations. This is not the first time this has happened to us. So we went up the street to another restaurant and had a very good meal.
Very nice overall experience, but the restaurant was jam packed and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. No major complaints but had to ask for a GF menu for my wife three times and our appetizer was forgotten.
Although very busy food and service where excellent
great service and food for a dinner mtg before a Bruins game.
The Food is Absolutely Great!! Well done once again
Awesome food and people. Ate in the basement which was intimate and fun.
The food was good and the prices on the menu were extremely reasonable. However, they did not post the prices of the specials and that is where they get you. The fried calamari appetizer (typically a price range of $12-16) cost $21! The plate was not extremely large either. The pasta special which had a small burrata piece and a bolognase sauce was $35 and not even close to worth the price. There are definitely better Italian restaurants around and throughout the north end.
Made reservations on open table for a special event with my son. Got to massiminos and they would not seat us (as well as others) because they said they overbooked. When we asked to speak to a manager (on a sat night) they told us there was no manager on duty. Really? Pathetic.
Great food ,, great service .. noise level high ..
I would recommend Massiminos for a non-game or event night. I've been twice in the past 5 weeks for pre-bruins game dining. The food is great but it's very crowded and noisy and desert and/or coffee are not served after dinner on game nights. We were downstairs and our table actually blocked the emergency exit. Despite the crowd the service was great.
