Mass Street Fish House & Raw Bar
The food tasted amazing and the creativity of the menu was amazing as well. The service was perfect from the hostess to the bussing if the plates. I would definitely recommend and go back!
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service of this quaint restaurant, particularly the upstairs seating. The food was great (oysters, ahi tuna nachos, ribeye) but a little pricey. My two suggestions to improve the establishment is to offer more gluten free options (pasta, breads, appetizers, etc.) and provide daily specials that may take the sting out of the overall entree cost. Thank you!
Absolutely outstanding as always! The food is hands down delicious and the bar features inventive, unique creations. Love it!
The food was all delicious. I tried oysters for the first time :) The atmosphere was fun, we sat in the lower area and it was cozy and felt private. The waitress was knowledgeable and knew the answers to all of our questions. We will definitely be returning!
Good food, the corn and clam chowder was AMAZING. All their souls are delicious. We also won't go anywhere else for oysters - theirs are the best. The restaurant wasn't too loud, and our server was attentive - I drink a lot of water and my glass was constantly being refilled - I really appreciated that.
initially we experienced a glitch where we were ignored for about 5-10 minutes and had to ask for some service.. once they got to their wires uncrossed ourservr was excellent as were the happy hour drinks and dozen oysters. Both our entrees were subtly seasoned and very creative. Would highly recommend.
Excellent food, excellent service, and a lovely environment.
Fabulous food! Seafood is fresh and dishes full of flavor. Great cocktails too!
Excellent meal. The only criticism might be a feeling of "rushed" service. The staff seemed to be in a hurry. Very little personal interaction.
Food was fabulous! Will go again!
We had two wonderful entrees and appetizers. They ran out of oysters! (students and their parents are back in Larryville). Great evening to sit outside. Attentive service. This is a go-to place for us. If not sitting outside, the bar is a good spot, too.
Great food, fabulous service and wonderful atmosphere.
Hands down, the most creative menu in Lawrence. If you're looking for seafood, it's really the only place in town worth patronizing. The food is consistently outstanding and the service is impeccable. The bar is equally as impressive with inventive cocktails and solid beer and wine lists.
I will be back
Service was fine. Expected more of a selection on the menu. Had two appetizers and a fish taco. Food was ok.
Food was great, service was excellent, it is a good deal louder than I would prefer.
The calamari was excellent, the oysters were a complete disappointment, the fish and chips were good. Unfortunately we don't which of these it was that caused us to both be quite sick about 6 hours after eating there since we both shared all.
Fantastic service and excellent food and drinks. Look forward to coming back.
We came for my oldest son’s engagement celebration, my daughter’s bday & my youngest son’s new executive chef position. I’d been to MSFH w/my daughter a couple times for apps & cocktails & it’s always been great. Fresh seafood was the first choice for all so we choose here. Granted we are not on the coast BUT the oysters were awesome! I honestly don’t think you could get any better being in the middle of the US. We ended up w/3 1/2 dozen before the night was over! We had an array of apps, entrees & cocktails. All was amazing. Don’t leave without trying a specialty cocktail. Sina & the EEL was spot on! Mezcal, coconut creme, jalapeño & cinnamon. WOW! Although our good was fantastic or service was even better! Our server, Sam I think, maybe the bar manager, was one of the single most fabulous servers ever! I am a FOH manager, my son a chef, daughter a bar and floor manager. We know we are picky and we were raving over her service, attentiveness, kindness, personality & smile. I wish I could clone her for ‘my’ restaurant. Counting the days till we can make it! Thanks’
Service and food were amazing. Very attentive server, but not intrusive. I very much enjoyed the incorporation of fresh local produce in some of the dishes.
Little pricey...but good service and good food. Crab legs were cooked nicely. Would recommend
This place did not deliver in any category. Way over rated!
The atmosphere was nice. Food was cooked perfect. Drinks were fantastic. Can't wait to go again.
Oysters, drinks, crab cakes and service was excellent!! Entrees really need to be improved. What we saw online from the pictures the food looked excellent scallops and everything. There were no scallops and the food was just kind of thrown together and not what we expected.
Loved trying different items by sharing plates. The ahi tuna nachos were especially good. The gin and honeydew cocktail lacked some gin, but was otherwise flavorful
We had the best experience dining at Mass Street Fish House. The atmosphere is the perfect spot for a date. It was our first time trying it and would most certainly come back. Our waitress was very knowledgeable in the wine selection they had to offer. She was quick to pair our food and wine together. We would defiantly go back.
The service was outstanding. And the ambiance is very nice. Lovely bar with nice drinks. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. It was nothing but fried breading. Hard to even distinguish the calamari. We came for the fish and chips. And the cod was good. But again, too much breading. The grilled trout was very good. The salads are good but very expensive for mostly greens. Not sure we would go back.
Delightful as always. Staff are attentive and helpful. Food is spot on, but it would be even more one of my favorite places if there were a few more vegetables to round out the meal. The treatment of veggies that they do serve are quite good and I can't help but think these could shine as brightly as does the fish and seafood. The deconstructed Crab Rangoon, genius!
Our server was amazing! They even made the mussels the way we like them. Which was very nice! Love going there always friendly, menus items are great and fresh. They are also very inventive the drinks.
Always delicious !!! Happy hour has hard to beat prices, need better happy hour drinks though!! Food incredible!
Mussels - Nice and plump but the sauce was underwhelming with two small pieces of burnt bread. Had to order a side of bread for $5. Ahi Tuna - cheap cuts with no flavor served with beets and carrots yuck. What a horrible pairing. Wontons were OK. Crab cakes were pretty much flavorless overdone and horrible presentation not to mention the included crab shells. The only thing good was the service by an attentive waitress.
Fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh and creative. We love the atmosphere and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
Ceviche was incomparable!!
Our waitress was amazing. Since I had never been there before I made a reservation. I guess I assumed it would be a little more private than it was. We were sat in a little table right along a high traffic area.
We split the check & he left the tip but I ended up being charged for the tip instead of him when it came through my account, so that was a little concerning.
Overall it was a neat experience and we would go back.
Delicious as always. Our server was particularly great this time in- really knew his food and wine. Nice job Logan.
This place was great for a special occasion. A little bit pricey but not bad if you only go there every once in a while for a special occasion. The menu is not very large and I think it changes. But the food tasted great, as well as the drinks. Our servers were so nice.
Visited MSFH once before, last year, and liked it. Decided to go there again (We go to Lawrence 5 or 6 times a year).
This time: 1) Out of fish 2) Small portions 3) Less than moderate quality 4) TOO DAMNED SALTY, we ate
it anyway, it was supper time & we were fumigating our house, couldn't go back for several hours.
Let me know if you ever revert back to your old ways.

Mother’s Day late lunch. We always enjoy the fish house.
10/10. The food and drinks were excellent and the restaurant had an intimate feel without ever feeling overcrowded. The only complaint is that I could not always hear the beautiful music over the sounds of people eating and enjoying each other's company. My partner and I had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back especially since he loves seafood. Although it is on the pricier end of the scale, it was worth every cent.
The food was very good and to us it was a good value. The ambiance in general was just right. The artwork was a bit weird to me but I am not the artsy type. The staff was quick and attentive to our needs. Really the only critique I would have is that some of the female staff were showing more skin than necessary. A little more conservative and dressy would seem to fit the restaurant better.
