Masons restaurant bar
We know it’s easy to be bamboozled by flowery language on restaurant menus. Therefore we’ve deliberately kept our menu simple with the names of traditional British dishes that you’ll immediately recognise. We then expect our experienced waiting staff to do the rest – giving you all the details of the locally sourced ingredients that make up the day’s dishes – to help you make your choices.
A NOD TO THE FREEMASONS’ HISTORY OF OUR ICONIC BUILDING
Just as the Masons’ name references the building’s unique history, the food at Masons also nods to some of Britain’s most traditional and best loved dishes. All ingredients on our a la carte grill menu are carefully sourced from across the British Isles, including Goosnargh Chicken from Norfolk and Dukesmoor Fillet/Carpaccio from Northumbria.

Lovely venue with ambiance but felt a little bit rushed from the start by the hostess & the waiter as table only available for 2 hours. A few dishes wasn’t available already at 5.15pm and I wasn’t too impressed by the other options on the menu as not great for vegan or vegetarian at all really. The toilets are quite a distance too which is fine for me but wouldn’t be if I had difficulties with mobility.
Outstanding Food and service as always. Very consistent.
Really lovely restaurant, great food & wine, nice atmosphere and attentive (but not smothering!) service.
We’ve been here several times and hope to return post lockdown!
Food and service here is always excellent, as it was this time , so did not disappoint.
Just hope they survive covid
Amazing Sunday Lunch - we had the rib of beef which was delicious/ Great value for money and superb service. The restaurant itself is stunning.
First time visit and won’t be last , the ambience is just lovely . The food was exceptional value for money - very tasty and large portions of the 3 course meal & in addition to this the staff were superb. Outstanding service : special mention to Tony , Thankyou very much . Wishing all staff at Masons much safety and good health during the pandemic and Thankyou very much for your service - Jacki S
Fabulous meal, beautiful surroundings, great service
This is now literally our favourite restaurant in Manchester. The food is always delicious, wine excellent and well priced. The staff are friendly and attentive. The surroundings are luxurious and even the sound levels and music played perfect. They often have offers on which mean it is an affordable treat.
We've recommended the place to all our friends and now many of them have become regulars.
Fabulous as always, amazing food, my favourite place to eat
Birthday treat, food was a delight. Service excellent . Reccomend.
Masons is a very well thought out restaurant. On entering we were given a 5 star welcome showed to our table and handed over into very capable hands. The food oh the food to die for highly recommended I had the mussels to start awesome the the Hanger steak ( Onglet ) So flavoursome and tender nothing is to much trouble for these guys.
Just a mention I thought one of the tables that two guys were sat on one was Gordo himself. We will be going again very very soon .
Really enjoyable experience, food excellent and great service throughout. My bill came to £109 I'm just glad I'd bought a confidentials voucher as I don't see value for money at that price.
Wonderful food and amazingly attentive staff. Felt safe and well looked after in these strange COViD 19 time’s
Extremely good food very tasty and really large portion sizes, too much for us to finish our meals, excellent value for money. What topped it all was the service from arriving at reception and having the obligatory covid checks all the way through dinner to paying the bill the service was excellent - lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be returning to try out other options on the menu
New menu is lovely. Staff are helpful and attentive
Great service, friendly staff.
Food was delicious, would definitely return!
Always a great experience at Mason's. The food was lovely, the service is always above and beyond. Felt very safe in the restaurant with all the Covid changes in place. Especially loved the way the menu's had been done, nice touch even due to the fact its done because of Covid.
another stunning visit to Masons. I’ll definitely be back to try the new menu
When to Masons for my Birthday the meal and service we received was outstanding, I will be recommending this place to my friends and will definitely be going back
Had a great meal. Food, Service and experience was outstanding. Many thanks to Joanna
A great restaurant and safe experience, not to mention the high quality food.
The food and service was excellent. The settings was lovely warm and welcoming
The whole experience from start to finish was relaxing and friendly which during these Covid times is just what we all need.
We have never been disappointed with anything at Mason's. This time the hake/haddock was slightly over-cooked but not spoilt. The service was friendly and engaged.
Fabulous chateaubriand and cheese board . Very reasonable priced wine list .
Highly recommended.
All was excellent! Gin trolley was fun if not a little long-winded...
I normally go to Hawksmoor but couldn't get a table but very pleased to have found Masons!
Food very average. Think the chef likes to put plenty of salt on everything. More like pub grub and very overpriced. Service was good but wouldn’t go back .
Lovely dining room, service ok. Food didnt live up to menu or price tag. Could be great, but not fish overcooked, some dishes unbalanced.
Poor wine list but reasonably priced.
We love this place! Although regular diners at Masons, we enjoyed our first Sunday lunch there and it was delicious. The staff really look after you and are friendly. The building and surroundings are beautiful. What more can anyone ask for! It has become our favourite place to dine in Manchester and there's some stiff competition so that's saying a lot.
Fantastic service in a beautiful building. We got the 3 course Sunday lunch for £21 and it was just superb. I will definitely be recommending.
Fabulous meal in nice surroundings with great service
Fantastic restaurant .. one of my Manchester top 5
Staff outstandingly helpful, after we had a problem getting in.
We had a lovely lunch at Masons . The halibut we had was just a touch overcooked but overall the food was very good . The restaurant have taken lots of measures to ensure staff and customers are protected from the virus and we felt very safe and well looked after .
It was a really amazing meal, lovely touch with the free glass of wine for my birthday. I was slightly disappointed that some items were unavailable but it's not a big deal, everything I ate was incredible!
Sunday lunch🤔
* Front of house amazing!
*surroundings lush
* wine list good
*Sunday lunch mediocre
*dry chicken and beef warmed up roaties n yorkshires
*replacement salmon better although still dry but nice flavour . Complimentary wine helped.
* disappointing as food did not meet our expectations.
* staff superb kitchen needs a firecracker!
Lovely staff, nice menu excellent atmosphere for a intimate meal. COVID rules adhered to excellently.
Beautiful Restaurant, lovely atmosphere, superb service a real treat!
Was first dining experience here and we chose the steak and guinea fowl. The guinea fowl was just a small leg about the size of a drumstick so I had to share the steak which wasn't a problem. However the service was very poor there were only two people serving with not many diners which should have been sufficient although when we asked for the bill the Manager was too busy showing another table the extensive gin trolley which was taking ages and the young girl needed him to authorise the bill before she could produce it. We waited and waited.... in the end I wasn't willing to wait any longer so left and went back to the hotel and left my husband to sort it out.
Fantastic Sunday lunch service brilliant and very attentive with my little boy which made for a lovely afternoon
