Lovely guys. We were 15 minutes late due to our ghost walk running late and the chef agreed to stay and cook for us. The food was lovely and service was with a smile
Went here with some friends. The food was excellent, some really good vegetarian and vegan options. Slight more of a wait than you would expect but we weren’t in any rush. Would definitely recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious, service was a little slow but it’s early days and it was a Tuesday.
Very good food, best Indian in York by far. Could have a better beer selection but overall excellent.
Food was delicious but there were no Craft beets on the menu ?
Excellent authentic Indian street food. Great food but slow service only saw two staff members if only they employed a bar man the waiter could then provide a faster services. Highly recommend but be prepared and remain patient for a slow service the food is worth the wait.
Service was a little slow but we were happy enjoying the craft beers and not in a rush. Tasty food !
Really tasty food with some unusual dishes to try. Lots of vegan options too!
Excellent home made naan. Fish curry was outstanding. Flaky pieces of fresh fish with a delicate sauce which complemented the fish perfectly. Home made poppadums were lovely. Pickle tray a bit stingy in quantities. We also ordered a number of small plates. The Chicken pakoras and onion bhajis were very good. Again home made. This is apparently a craft beer bar. There were actually very few craft beers on the menu, but the mango beer we chose was a nice accompaniment to the food. The restaurant was very quiet, apparently due to a problem with supply. We arrived on time for our booking at 9pm. However, our waiter came to us at 10pm saying we had 10 minutes to finish 'because the chef had gone home'. I detest being rushed, especially since the booking was made well before closing time. This factor alone will probably prevent me from returning, which is a shame, because the food is actually good.
Excellent food, good price!
Would definitely recommend.
Lovely good and a very exciting menu. Everything good quality
I would definately recommend this place. Right by the river so great vibe in the area and the food was amazing.
Had never visited before but would highly recommend and definitely visit again. Server was attentive and helpful. Food was fresh and tasty
Food was amazing, great value for money! First time here and in York.. loved it! Only bad thing was busy with groups of men so was pretty loud in there
Hidden away in a narrow side street next to the King's Arms this was our first visit and we were really impressed. The Khadai Cholley was beautifully spiced, lovely Masala Dosa and my partner liked the Chicken Tikka Masala. Brilliant!!!! Definitely worth finding.
Food was delicious and the service was great - one young man managing all the tables which is to be expected in the current climate. Unfortunately not everyone is as understanding as we overheard someone complaining about the amount of tonic he had in his g&t... No complaints from us and would recommend to others.
Lovely venue with great, tasty food! Would definitely recommend.
Totally delicious and friendly staff- we will be recommending
This was such a lovely place for dinner. We had an all vegan meal and it was delicious, so flavoursome and filling. Especially loved the chilli and coriander naan dipped in any of the sauces :)
Disappointing not as advertised on website very limited choices on menu
Service was very poor. Drinks took a long time to arrive and had to ask again numerous times. As well as having to ask for cutlery. Waitress was not very knowledgable and very vague when asked questions. Not a problem if you don’t know the answer, just say you will go and find out rather then ‘I don’t know’. Food was delicious. The peshwari naan was amazing! So nice to have so many vegan options.
Service was not great
They forgot simple things like plates for side orders
I love Indian food but this was poor
Authentic South Indian food, Masala Dosas and Fish Curry were very good.
Good service, friendly staff, just a pity there was no Jaipur on draught.
Very nice indeed. The masala dosa was excellent!
firstly let me start by saying I don't normally write reviews, as I don't think one persons opinion should stop people trying new things, what I don't like they may. But in this case I need to stop people going through what we did on the 29th may. I had made a booking and arrived on time, and were seated at a table for 4 even though there was only 2 of us this wouldn't have been a problem if it had not been by the front door, we placed our order for drinks which arrived promptly and then we ordered our food I think £5.00 for some broken poppadum's and chutneys is a bit steep but the starters arrived and were something different and tasty then it all went down hill. other people started to arrive that had booked and were told there were no tables, they were rightly annoyed but we were sitting there and could hear every word which was uncomfortable to say the least this happened to about 3 party's that arrived. by this time we had been there over an hour and no other food had arrived at this point my partner needed the toilet so off she went and the waiter then arrived to ask had we ordered but what he asked if we had ordered was not ours, at this point my partner returned and said we are leaving as she had been to the toilet, the female toilet had a sign on it saying out of order, but she was told it was ok when she went in it was not ok lets just say backed up to the brim when she went in the other toilet the same thing. So I asked for the bill no apology nothing taken off the bill so the best part of £40.00 for drinks starter and a girlfriend leaving there feeling physical sick.
Dismal anniversary meal. Very poorly organised and service was inconsistent. Food was not as described on the menu and much of it completely bland. We ordered drinks twice that never came but were on our bill. A waiter spilt a green chutney all over my husband which stained his shoe and forgot to come and clean it up. The toilets were awful, dirty and broken door handles.
Will not return. Dreadful experience.
Lovely food and great service. Asked for a milder dish to be made extra hot and wasnt disappointed, cocktails were great and good value too, would definitely come back
Slow service, had to ask for plates for main course
Food was average. Some starters were good (lamb chops) some like the masala fish and chicken pakora were all batter with very little fish or chicken, which was a pity because they had decent flavour
The main courses were average. The pork vindaloo, far too sweet. The keema too saucy compared to what it should be and the chicken tikka masala lacked flavour
They have split their menu so different items are available at lunchtime and strangely biryanis are only available at lunchtime, which is odd.
