The tacos was bomb! Most of all the sangria, margaritas and speciality drinks was the best experience! Can’t get enough! Thanks for such great service too!
Loved Masa! It was the perfect spot to catch up with a couple friends for a casual but delicious brunch! We are college students, so on a budget, and it wasn't too much of a splurge. Would definitely come back!
The staff was great, very helpful and quick to get us anything we needed. The food was good, we had a few of the tacos, the nachos, onion rings, and empanadas. We were very excited about the octopus dish, but it wasn't as tasty as it could be which was a disappointment. This is a good option for large groups that are looking for an affordable meal.
The main courses (steak tips and pork shoulder) were amazing, as were the two cocktails we had. The habanero watermelon cocktail (I cannot remember the precise name) was very refreshing with a nice hit of heat aftertaste. The patatas bravas were very bland and a huge letdown. They tasted like plain baked baby potatoes with no seasoning and very little sauce. We definitely would not even give it a second chance. The plantains were good, but pretty standard.
The noise level was terrible. It’s not the restaurants fault but a group was at a large table in the center and were talking and laughing very loudly. My boyfriend and I actually had some issues speaking to each other at our table - I’d say if you see a large group there when you go, try another time. We will be when we go back.
Food was delicious, affordable and all came out super fast! Loved the cocktail list too.
We have a fantastic time sharing tapas and house mar
The staff are marvelous, the food is great, and the atmosphere is perfect and easy. An excellent place overall.
Beautiful interior with good food (cheese empanadas where delicious). Came here for Friday night dinner and it was not packed at all. Would come back to try their brunch.
They changed their menu and got a new chef. We went on the first night and weren't too impressed. It could get better! But their previous menu was one of my favorites so I'm a little bummed about the change.
Valentine date. The food - short rib empanadas, and shrimp tacos for appetizers, and brick-roast chicken with avocado/mashed potatoes, and steak bavette with tempura scallions were all very good. As was the service. However, it was a long, long wait between courses and an endless wait for dessert, until finally the manager came over to announce that all desserts had been ruined and there weren’t any more to offer. On Valentine’s Day! Too bad, but they cut the bill way down and we left willing to try Masa again, but NOT on a holiday.
The Sangria is terrible. Wine, Bourbon and ginger? Getting inventive with Sangria without knowing what you’re doing is not creative. They need a real Spanish/Latin recipe. The fried plantains were bad. Hint: They’re suppose to be ripe before frying. If not, they need to be green, fried, smashed flat, and fried again. The tacos were good, as was the guac and chips. Need to expand the menu with more tapas. Call me if you want a real Spanish/Latin sangria recipe.
Good food, great service, excellent margaritas. What more do you need?
Not the MASA I remember - They used to serve bread with a variety of jams but not any more I guess. It was ok when it used to be great before..
The red wine offerings were not great, though the waitress was kind enough to let us try three different types of wine before we picked one we hated less than the others. We came here from Wink and Nod and so wished we had a bottle of that wine instead of what we had at Masa. The fish tacos and pork belly were fine, not memorable which was ok given the price though a plate of just pork belly and really dipping sauce was disappointing and hard to watch someone eat. We took the bottle of wine home and it was not sealed properly so it spilled all over the car seat. Just overall not a great experience.
The food at Masa is delicious. Margaritas are a must as well. The waitstaff and GM were extraordinarily attentive and made extra efforts to accommodate a gluten-free need with no muss, no fuss. Decor is beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. This is a "must try" restaurant!
Food was ever so tasty as were the margarita's and other cocktails we tried.
Food portions small for price and one dish was cold.
Lovely food.. the potatoes bravas were fantastic! And don't miss the churros with chocolate for dessert.
Street corn was awesome
I've been to many restaurants that serve tapas all over the world. Masa has a lot to left to grow. The service was slow and impersonal, but what is worse is that the food tasted mediocre.
We did not enjoy the food due to the flavor profiles. We ordered the tortilla soup and it felt like we were eating refried beans.
Drinks and ambiance good, food needs work.
Crusty food. Used to be great but the food was crusty this time ( I haven’t been in a couple of years). They now even charge for bread! That’s probably why there was no one there for brunch.
Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy good food and drinks. The service is excellent!
Thank you for the great review! Here's hoping to see you in again soon!
3 burritos all came out cold/uncooked. Not going back, waitress was nice though.
The waitress was not nice, except 30 seconds before dropping the check. She had an attitude, which everyone on the table commented. Their sangria are not the best, very bitter and not made with any fruits, which a basic ingredient of the sangria. The food was not bad to be fair, but we will not be going back due to the poor service. We don’t believe in paying good money to be treated rudely.
Used to come here all the time. One of my favorite brunch places. Picked this for a group outing and was very disappointed by how much it has changed. The corn bread that they would give you when you sat down is now gone. They took some of their best meals and drinks off the menu. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but this will probably be my last visit.
I took a friend to Mass fir Sunday brunch. The restaurant was not full yet it seemed to take a long time for the waiter to arrive to take our order. Once we ordered the meal was prepared promptly. We both ordered the eggs Benedict which were delicious.
Barbara, thank you for your great review! I am so glad you and your friend had such a good time at brunch! We are looking forward to seeing you in again soon!
Masa was a restaurant I hadn't eaten at in over 15 years and I am guessing some renovations have been done, because it looked fantastic. Anyway my meal with my boyfriend was awesome and the bartender who served us was a really fun guy who really made our night by changing the station to watch the Ohio State game instead of the Clemson game and he just made it a more friendly, personable evening. It was really appreciated. Definitely a great environment for a date or cocktails after work or just having a really great meal.
The staff food and ambiance were very nice. We loved the decor.
My only criticism would’ve that both the sangria and the house margarita were weird tasting. Otherwise, the food was very good
We’ve loved Masa for years but was disappointed with new menu that doesn’t have many entrees on it. Most dishes are too large to be tapas but too small to be a main course. We enjoyed the grilled octopus but chicarones were more like bacon and tuna tartare didn’t taste as fresh as I’d like.
Fabulous margaritas, great tacos, and the grilled octopus was to die for.
Food was okay but took forever to come out- they asked us 3 times if we got our muscles yet (no we were still waiting). We only ordered 3 tapas and were there for almost two hours.
Also we had requested a high top table and they gave it away to walk-ins over our reservation. Then sat us in a tiny back table by the bathroom.
Get the cornbread!! The margaritas were delicious as well!
Great vibe on a Saturday night - would recommend.
Great staff! Drinks were perfect and the food was delicious it just had me wanting more.
Great spot for brunch before a show!
We visited Masa for brunch before a matinee performance of Rent. I had two 14year olds with me and they loved the brunch menu and atmosphere. I loved the mimosa options! Service was spot on and the locations very convenient to the Theater district.
