Treat you Mom to a special Brunch and Dinner menu

We met our son and his girlfriend here for brunch. They had been to Masa before and enjoyed it. Very cute place, the hostesses were nice and efficient. Unfortunately, our meal was not great. I had the Tequila and Cilantro Cured Salmon Quesadilla. My salmon was stringy and needed to be trimmed, a number of slices had inedible fatty pieces and just seemed sort of slimy. The arugula salad on top was the only saving grace. My son's girlfriend had the Crispy Texas Toast, she tried to be very polite about it but by the end of the meal she admitted she wasn't eating it because it was so oily. She and I also ordered coffee, we were surprised to have it served with coffee grounds in it, and instead of cream it seems they serve it with low fat milk? By the time you added enough milk to give it some color, you ended up with cold, acidic coffee. Not what I'm looking for with my brunch. My husband had the Scrambled Eggs with Chorizo, which he said was fine but nothing special, and my son had the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito which he said he enjoyed. We mentioned the oily Texas Toast to our server, who apologized and the manager kindly comp'd, but I have to say I don't think I'd go back. It just wasn't the experience we were expecting.
The brunch special is a real deal -- delicious and plenty.
Great experience our waiter was awesome, deff recommend the coconut flan
Came here because I heard the huevos rancheros are a must and they defitnately are! Will be coming back soon!
Food was underwhelming. But the dates with bacon were amazing and service was awesome.
Went for Saturday Brunch.Had the Santa Fe Style Eggs Benedict and my boyfriend had the Southwestern Cobb Salad, both dishes were absolutely delicious! The service was good, the staff and hostesses were very friendly and welcoming.I am a resident of the South End and was happy to try out this hidden g,we will be back.😀
Dine out menu was delicious and the tequila pairings were such a fun addition to our dinner!
We ate at Masa on a Sunday at lunchtime for a birthday meal. The food was delicious and our server was very attentive. We especially loved the mimosas, the carmelized plantain empanada (starter), and the chocolate truffle tamale (dessert) that which was brought out with a candle. This was a fun, lively spot that I would definitely return to.
Everything was great but the noise level can be challenging for the over 50's crowd :)
We were one of the first reservations on a Sunday - great $10 brunch options if you're there within the first hour! Can't wait to go back - food was INCREDIBLE.
I have been to Masa a few times and this was as good as the last. They were very accommodating with my semi paleo diet. My eggplant steak was delicious and my drinks were good as well. Unfortunately, while my husband thought he enjoyed his pork, he was quite sick afterwards which made the theatre experience very uncomfortable for him. The only other complaint I had was that the tuna tartar looked like it was hacked to death with a dull blade instead of sliced nicely- when I went to grab various bites of it I ended up long string of tuna dangling instead of a hearty well chopped mouthful.
Had dinner during restaurant week in Boston after an appointment and before driving back to Maine. Portion size was excellent for a 3 course prix fix menu.
Always a good spot for brunch - but watch the bloody mary's - very very spicy!!
Only disappointment is one meal was not hot enough when served.
Brunch menu was very good. Huevos Rancheros were flavorful and tasty. Bloody Mary and Mamosa was worth the wait. We will be back.
Brunch was delicious!
It is a cozy, quiet weeknight option! Slightly disappointed with how fried the fish and pork in the tacos were. Very impressive tequila selection, delicious marg.
It was a quiet Sunday night. There weren’t many people in the restaurant so we got attentive service from the team. They made good recommendations and the bartender did for drinks. I’d go back. I can imagine a good scene there
This restaurant was nice an quite easy for conversation. The service was very attentive and the food was excellent.! I would go back here again and I would recommend. Be sure to ask server for tapas menu as they usually only have it in bar, but it is great for starters at the table as well.
Great food. Great service. Showed up early and had a few cocktails at the bar which were equally as good as the food. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Boston.
A spontaneous choice from a Phantom Gourmet list .
Had a very nice time with the friendly helpful staff. It is very comfortable and has great atmosphere. This will become one of our regulars restaurants when I feel like having the best prepared tuna steak and some coconut broth PIE mussels.
Went to Sunday brunch. They have a great Mexican inspired menu everything from the traditional juevos rancheros to creative twists like house-cured salmon quesadillas and chorizo spring rolls. I had the Ultimate Burrito which was excellent and a large portion. They bring out a basket of home-made corn breads with their own jams and cinnamon butter - wow. Reasonable prices and good service.
Had a very nice meal at Masa. Been a while since the last time we were there and was nice to get back too. The food can be spicy. Service was wonderful tho. When I had a problem with my meal it was very swiftly and couteously replaced.
We were there on a Sunday, fairly early for dinner, it became noisier as it filled up. We would go back. Only the dessert was less than excellent.
Matt has great knowledge of Tequila and was very insightful on his recommendations, the staff put on a good show: service was excellent and the food delicious
Always enjoy going here, and the great service confirms our choice. BTW, take the chicken enchiladas if ever in doubt -- they are amazing!
My gf & I have gone to Mass countless times. Tuesday at 4 we realized the restaurant was opening & we tried waiting for our 5pm reservation but ened up kicking it at the Bar. Our bartender was doing finishing tasks to open up the bar but got us settled in with drinks within 7mins from when we walked in. He was friendly but served us 2 orders of the wrong tapas. He charged($18) us for both & left off the actual item we had ordered originally off the bill. We over ate because he had told us to keep the 2nd mistake& sent the 3 plate out. Ok cool we paid him waited for our reservation & headed into the dining room at 5pm. The waitress was very friendly & attentive. Ordering the Brick Chicken this time was disappointing, the Mashed Potatoes were ice. I can understand like warm or cooled down but ice cold was unexpected. We paid our bill & made sure We tipped the server for her service. Due to this time we don't believe we will be back for another dinner there. No food actually. Perhaps only drinks.
LOVE the atmosphere! I've been to Masa on numerous occasions for brunch, happy hour, and dinner. The food is super flavorful and rich in variety. I recommend people to for the weekend for brunch and happy hour. I love that they play musica Latina, which compliments the food!
Service was the high point here. Antonio was our server and he was attentive, gracious, and filled with good recommendations regarding the menu. The quality of food was high with a delicious duck plate, which may have had a little too much Brussel sprout on the plate, but a good portion of duck and an excellent presentation. My wife's chicken enchilada was enjoyed by her and finished by me because of the hearty portion. The value portion took a ding when we reviewed the bill to see that the chips and salsa and the chips and guacamole, served together, were two separate charges. Overall we recommend this restaurant, just be clear on what you are ordering for extras. James
We live in the neighborhood and I realized we should come in more often! The food was delicious - we had the duck and the pork shank (SO much food), the atmosphere was upbeat. After eating we sat at the bar for a drink and the bartenders were helpful and friendly. Overall a great night!
Food was great, service was attentive and proper. Drinks were also top notch and was nice to see a fair serving of a margarita instead of those tiny glasses.
Nice selection of Latin American foods. Corn chowder was outstanding. Both pork dishes delish! The non-standard margaritas were a little strange. The dining room was spacious and open but it felt a little too big on a very cold night. We wanted it to be more cozy. No regrets! We will go back.
First visit and will make this one of our hot spots from now on - the staff were great, start to finish and the food was simply sublime!
Great brunch deal! 2 courses for under $10 a piece.
The service was a little slow but that’s only because they were understaffed. Antonio was a fantastic waiter and did his best. The food was delicious and the overall experience was great! Would definitely return and definitely recommend it!
Enjoyed a great breakfast at Masa! The breakfast burrito and eggs benedict were amazing!! The waiter was attentive and made great recommendations. Friendly staff.
Food was excellent. Waiter was attentive and provided details on the menu items that were very helpful and made great recommendations! Will definitely return!
Excellent Latin American/American fusion with well balanced flavors and great Margaritas
