This was our third visit to Mas and it was, perhaps, even better than our previously wonderful dinners there. We had the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The cooking is inventive and refined. And the Somelier was extraordinary--gave us a little wine education with each course. Excellent service all around.

not that easy to find for those of us from uptown wish it was closer to UES

liked that size was not overwhelming had chicken which was not half a bird as I am not a big eater serice was nice in that everybody seemed to help and not just the bus boy or waiter

Outstanding creative food, impeccable service in a NYC classic. A must for all foodies. We did the chef’s tasting menu with wine by the class recommended by one of the most knowledgeable sommeliers we have ever met. Pricey but worth every dollar.

Excellent food, and overall quite good. The only thing off-putting was the casual dress of our waiter -- jeans and a flannel shirt; it just seemed a little too casual for such a fine restaurant (with fine restaurant pricing).

Delicious. I️ had the four course tasting menu. Everything was superb. The chocolate mouse and pumpkin desert was fantastic.

And the apple a day cocktail was very fall with its apple cider and gin. I️ would definitely get recommend it.

The food was fine but the place was a sauna. The hostess said it had something to do with the vestibule being put in and there being hot spots and cold spots in the restaurant but it was very unpleasant.

This is a very unusual and special place. The food was creative and so was the way it is run. The testing menu allowed you to substitute anything (I believe) on the menu. The waitress was knowledgeable and thoughtful. The Sommelier pointed us to just what we were looking for at the right price. This is not the usual New York dinning out. They have something going here.

Another neighborhood gem that we were only too happy to discover. The service was impeccable and the food delicious - the blackened catfish was probably some of the best that I've ever had.

I’ve dined at Mas (Farmhouse) over the years and mourned their closing due to a fire (because Mas represents some of the most consistently fabulous food in New York City), but I’m so very happy it REOPENED during the summer of 2017 in the same charming space looking as perfect as before.

But what about the food? Extraordinary. Simply extraordinary. If you can, have the six-course tasting menu. Forget the menu you see online because a lot depends on what the chef works with today. Fresh ingredients are combined - not as an experiment - but as a master creation, course after course. Those of us who return, don’t do so for the same signature dish. We come back to be amazed.

Service: charming. Attentive. Casually elegant.
Drinks: great wine suggestions and they make the best Negroni I’ve ever had (which one would think would be an easy cocktail for most to make).

Go. Now.

My husband and I had one of our first dates here, and we've always wanted to come back. We noticed they had reopened and were excited to return for our anniversary. The food was as good a we remembered it pre-fire, if not somewhat less ambitious. The dessert is nothing to write home about, but the service, wine pairings, and ambiance are really some of the best in all of NYC. Mas is fantastic and I'm very glad to see it has endured.

A gem in a neighborhood just off 6th Avenue. The food is awesome, service exceptional and not in your face but the best part was meeting Angela. A true treasure of MAS Farmhouse.

We've been living in NYC for over twenty-five years and we eat out a lot, mostly due to business. But MAS Farmhouse has to be one of the best restaurants in Manhattan. Full stop.

Mas is a wonderful dining experience! Fabulous food and flavors that surprise and delight! Tuna l'occidental appetizer is one of my favorite appetizers any where - if you like tuna, you must order it. On this visit, we also ordered golden baby beet terrine with goat cheese which I loved (I'm a huge fan of beets)! For entrees, we ordered striped bass with leek fondue (flaky, melt in your mouth) and roasted duck breast with sunchokes, lentils and macerated cranberries(suggested medium rare which was perfectly prepared). It was my husband's birthday, and we ordered two desserts (upside down cake with berry compote and white chocolate peanut butter cheesecake with grape sorbet). And, we ordered a scoop of homemade ice cream. Desserts and ice cream were worth every calorie (and I'm supposed to be dieting)! Go to Mas - you will be thankful you did!

Very friendly staff plus over the top great service. Food was excellent, wine list really solid with some interesting bottles. 4 course tasting menu for just over $100 is a really great price for the quality of food. We were a party of 6 and got the "farmhouse" table which made it even more fun.

I came with my wife for our anniversary. The food was delicious and it the dining experience felt like a show. There was an issue with one of my plates. The restaurant went above and beyond in resolving the problem. To be honest, it wouldn't have ruined our night anyway but they way they handled it was outstanding.

My husband and I finally had a chance to return to Mas after the restaurant reopened and are delighted to confirm that it's as excellent as it has ever been. The room is still warm and inviting in an elegant rustic style with comfortable seating. We had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing for me. Every course was delicious and artfully presented and the wines were terrific! The sommelier chooses the wines well to complement the food and describes them wonderfully. Service continues to be impeccable and highly personable.

I love tasting menus. Mas was the second place we had gone for our anniversary week. Such a disappointment. Out of the 8 dishes we tried (each had one of the 4 course tasting menu) only two were good. None were substantial. Main Waitress was rude. Some dishes tasted like they were pulled from the fridge with a stale taste. With tip and one wine pairing it cost over $300. Not worth it.

I never made it to Mas (Farmhouse) prior to the fire, but its reputation was stellar. After dinner last night, all I can say is that if it was as good as it was billed before, it has risen again from the ashes like an inspired Phoenix. Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From the knowledgeable and attentive staff to the gorgeous menu (the six course chef’s menu), to the chic styling, this was a perfect meal. Don’t miss it.

Great meal. Restaurant had a great homely feel - seasonal food, friendly interested staff, calming decor - but still retains a feeling of being special. The menu is very varied with some very interesting combinations. There were a number of things we wanted to try.
Would definitely go back.

Our first trip to Mas (farmhouse). The food was very well prepared, interesting, and very seasonal. The menu is focused but highly flexible and they are extremely accommodating. We were impressed not just with the taste, but also the varied textures of many of the dishes. The portion sizes are generous and shareable. The service was outstanding. Overall a delicious and enjoyable meal.

Yes, it was our first visit to Mas but not our first time eating at a restaurant. So, the exhaustive explanation of what a tasting menu is was, well, exhausting. And the fact that our server ignored my polite cues to stop his " canned" recitation became annoying. But I did settle down with the first sip of my perfectly prepared negroni. Unfortunately, the pleasure was short lived due to a 40 minute wait for our 1st course. Although my octopus terrine with a verjus gellee was not very satisfying, a taste of my wife's golden beets with goat cheese raised my confidence in the kitchen. We appreciated the chestnut soup offered as a token of appeasement even if my wife declined it. The tasty duck breast was cooked to my requested med-well temp but the highlight of the plate was the confit leg sausage. Too bad there was only enough for two small bites. So, all said and done: it's unlikely that we'll return. Too bad all 'round.
