   Mas has been my favorite restaurant for the past ten(?) years. I took my step daughter for her 10th birthday; to give her her first experience of fine dining with a tasting menu. I have raved about Mas for years. Our dining experience was surprisingly disappointing. What had once been impeccable service was disjointed and careless; it was painfully obvious that this was the 2nd to last evening; furthermore Celiac designated food was confused and placed in front of the wrong patron, loud 80s music carried on. The once careful and refined “explanation” of what the dishes consisted of was deflating and blasé; I had been so excited to give this experience to my stepdaughter and had spoken so highly of what this experience of a tasting Menu would be. Most of the dishes were delicious, but an underlying apathetic effort palpable; It was quite apparent that the staff was not putting their best foot forward on this 2nd to last evening. The previous dozen times I have dined at Mas I would rate 4.5 stars. My visit on Friday, June 29 was an enormous let down (especially given the occasion and what I had promised my daughter). The price was astronomical considering what was provided. On past occasions i have been delighted with every aspect of the Mas experience and equally agreeable to pay the prices for such glorious food, service and ambiance. this particular meal was beyond underwhelming I am very sad to see Mas go out of business; it has always been a monumentous occasion; with the one unfortunate experience of 6/29/18.

   We were priveledged to have a reservation last Saturday Night in what will be the last week for this wonderful restaurant. The four course menu was very flexible adding to the deliciousness of the Evening as was the wine. We would fine dine at this establishment at least once a year during one of our trips to NYC. I hope the next chapter for Chef Galen Zamarra is just as long and fulfilling.

   Love this restaurant. Such a sad thing that it’s closing. Looking forward to following Chef Galen to his next venture, wherever that may be. His food is just delicious. Service at Mas outstanding.

   Really bad and a very expensive evening for food that was mediocre and service that was unpleasant bordering on hostile. We said we were Vegan and had called 2 or 3 times prior to reservation to make sure they could handle a vegan palate and were told each time that they had noted the request and there was no problem. However, after a wonderful glass of wine we proceeded to ask about their Vegan offerings and were met with quite the attitude from a gentleman who proceeded to tell us that we should have mentioned that we were Vegan when we made the reservation & that basically he could take no responsibility for what the kitchen could manage on short notice. What I got was a very plain frisee lettuce salad, a pedestrian risotto with vegetables, a corn soup that was ok but only made me wish I had stayed home to eat the soup I had waiting for me in my refrigerator, and then came dessert & we were told...none were Vegan. For two people this all came to $200 if you DON'T include the wine. So silly and such a waste of an evening.

   Very sad that they will be closing after 14 years. Have been a very frequent guest over the years, celebrating birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgiving and just a regular night out. The food and service has been consistent throughout. Good luck to all.

   There is very good wine list,my bf ordered a amazing Burgendy .There is no surprise of the food but they use high quality ingredients,very small portion for entree. Service was slow,waiter and waitress didn’t dress up,it’s not worthy for the price.

    Very nice menu and food, well prepared, not overly salted. Portions just the right size. Very nice mocktail. The desserts, especially the sorbets and ice creams, were unusual and interesting. Definitely would return.

    What a wonderful experience. We were celebrating our anniversary but I would go back to Mas in a heartbeat! The food absolutely excellent and the staff so well trained, congenial and helpful. We enjoyed the chefs tasting menu so tried many of his works. Everything was wonderful. Not in love with the dessert but even that was fine. Try it if you’re up for an excellent experience!

    Consistently good. We had the tasting menu--actually got all the items and shared. Everything was good to excellent (chicken was a little boring); complex flavors, tremendous attention to detail. Wine pairing was delicious.

    Mas (farmhouse) is always a delight. From the pre-dinner cocktails to the after dinner coffee, the service and food is excellent. They pay attention to their customers, their needs and their likes. I truly cannot say enough good things. I think my wife said it best - "I would eat anything they placed in front of me." They go out of their way to provide new food experiences that take into account your preferences. Everything is simply excellent.

    We adore Mas Farmhouse. The food is always fabulous and surprising and the service is warm, friendly and so helpful. We have been to a lot of the great restaurants in NYC but Mas is our favorite so far. The farm to table food and the cozy environment makes the high end dining experience feel healthy and comfortable. I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. I like change, but for a special occasion this is where I want to go. This year we went on my birthday and the two tables closest to us were also celebrating something so I guess I'm not the only one to choose it on my big day. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any part of the Mas Farmhouse experience! Our waitress had occasion to tell us that Chef Zamarra is the nicest Chef she has ever worked with and that energy permeates the entire dining experience. If I could I would dine here every week!

    I booked a table at Mas after reading on open table that they had a notable wine list, which was true.Unfortunately, the bottle of Pommard that I selected was served at a temperature that was much warmer than preferred cellar temperature .Perhaps their red wine cooler was not working properly. The food was forgettable, nothing stood out as delicious, and two items were so overly salty that it marred the otherwise fresh ingredients . When it came time for after dinner drinks, our waiter first told us that they had no Cognac , but then returned from the bar with several choices on offer, he just didn’t know that it was brandy. I will try this restaurant again, but in my experience there are much better places within a few blocks.

    Our initial greeting was courteous. Our hostess seated us, our choice of table. All was great. Our server was attentive at first (there were only 2 of us for dinner, a Tuesday night) As the restaurant filled with tables of three’s or four’s, we were forgotten. We had ordered wine along with the Seasonal menu. Asparagus soup was very salty. The fish was good, and that was all! We bumped our table getting up & the candle popped into the air - I automatically tried to catch it, spilling wax on my left hand, splashing wax on my Chanel handbag, coat, and my sweater. No one cared!!! We asked for ice on my hand. The neighbor table gave us their napkins. I will be sending the dry cleaning bill to Mas Farmhouse next week. It was more important to take care of the Chef’s friends than regular customers. They were seated at a table for six. Very disappointed in our dining experience. Our friends, who suggested Mas, were surprised at our experience. They too, are ‘moving on’!

    Nothing special. It is terrible. We went because read the good reviews but all ended up with full of disappointments. The price is a rip off for a little restaurant. For the same price of a half main course, you can have a decent pre fix dinner a few blocks away. Service is under par. No real waiters or waitresses. It just let non english speaking bus boys run tables who dont even know what's on the menu. It gives me a cheap feeling. They are all in a rush makes the place look like a fast food place. Cold bread. Please note: quinoa has sands in it!! Yuck. The appetizer meatball is like a ball of all salt. The chef must be cooking mindless or with eyes covered. Very small portion of food. Nothing worths mentioning. We paid double for food we can get better anywhere.

    Dined at this restaurant a few days ago and we were all very disappointed in general despite the good reviews it had... Waiters were kind of friendly, but they gave us no menu course explanations on each dish as they came to our table on the tasting menu we've ordered, along with the wine paring, which the wines did not pair very well either. All the dishes were below average & most were very salty... Now understand why this restaurant did not have any star ratings on either the NY Times nor the Michelin...

    Simply fantastic! A great spot for anything from a formal business dinner to a nice date night. The menu is robust and creative with everything from the white asparagus soup, yellowfin tuna, to the short rib (one of the best dishes in Manhattan) being delicious. Also, DO NOT leave without getting dessert. The 5-star pastry chef is one of the most creative and talented chefs in the city. Every dessert is an instagram worthy work of art on a plate and in your mouth. Mas is worth the trip for dessert alone!

    Usually an amazing experience, but there was a group of 10 people at a table right in center of restaurant that was very loud. Took away he whole special experience- mad should think about limiting the big group reservation.
