Our server was great and the pot pie was delicious, just wish had been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go again on our next trip to the island.
Dinner was nice but I enjoyed the atmosphere better the next day when we hung out in the bar and listened to live music!
Had the whitefish and mozzarella stuffed meatloaf. Both good, but nothing special. The side of garlicky green beans was overwhelmed with garlic. Service was not the best (and the room was 1/3 filled for 3 servers). Our server shattered a glass, delivered the wrong meals, and was in a constant state of motion when trying to order or ask about the menu.
Love the cheese curds and the Michigan chicken salad. Wonderful place to dine especially after Labor Day. Beautiful view of the harbor is a bonus :)
Was nearing end of the tourist season so don’t know if that effected anything on island. Hostess was a bit short and rude but the waitstaff was friendly. Food was good but probably compares to most of the groups other restaurants which makes probably half of the restaurants on the island.
The person next to our table was shouting expletives at his girlfriend throughout the entire meal. It was a horrible to witness and experience. The wait staff and manager did nothing to curb his behavior.
Barbecue chicken pizza was perhaps the best we have ever eaten!
Food was above average. Service was excellent. Rachel C was extremely pleasant and did a great job handling our dinner.
I was super excited to try Mary’s Draught House. I made an online reservation (which was very easy, and convenient).
My husband and our 3 kids arrived at the restaurant. We told the hostess that we had a reservation. We asked if we could sit outside (outside is gorgeous on the water, inside is dark). She asked “if our reservation was for inside, or outside”? Choosing outdoor seating wasn’t an option when I booked the reservation....which was a bummer, because I made the reservation so we wouldn’t have to wait. We went outside to put our name in, the hostess (that quoted us 20 mins) was less than friendly, and seemed as if she had “too much sun”....
Thinking we could grab a drink while we waited, we proceeded into the bar area. We were immediately told our kids had to leave (being under 21). There wasn’t any signs posted...... We walked into another area, and waited awkwardly until someone asked us if they could get us anything. My husband and I happily ordered 2 beers, and pop for our kids. The sever who helped us very very nice and helpful.
After waiting longer than the time quoted, I walked outside to ask about our table. I was about “tackled” from one of the severs saying “I couldn’t bring any beer purchased inside, outside”. I was told we had to “chug it” or wait until we were done to sit at our table.
Two things- First, we were drinking double IPA’s, you don’t chug a double IPA. Second, I’ve never ordered a drink while waiting for a table and not been able to bring it to the table (even though we cashed out).
The beer selection inside was awesome, but unfortunately, the selection outside consisted of just a few mediocre beers (which was a bummer, because that’s one of the main reasons we went there).
My husband ordered ribs, and I ordered pasta. Our food was great w/ the exception of my daughters kids pizza (which was the size of a postage stamp). Although, after chugging my beer, anything would’ve tasted awesome!
Dined outside, limited draft beer selection compared to inside seating! We are seekers for variety of Breweries brews. Food was average tasting; meatloaf & Salmon dinners. Service was great.
We went with our two younger kids. Has a great bar and lots of menu options. The service was average but the food was really good. Biggest complaint is if you're like me and want to try local beers since they advertise such a large selection don't opt on sitting outside. Once outside there were only two on tap and the drink menu was non-existent. Went back a few nights later and sat at the bar. Was able to sample a few other beers but they still do not have a full menu or complete list of what they offer which I find strange. Good atmosphere though and fun place. Worth checking out regardless.
If you sit outside, there are far fewer drink selections. They were out of some of their appetizers. Food was good though.
Terrible food. If you decide to eat get a flat bread and skip the meatloaf. Awesome band! I would go again for the great beer selection and to listen to their band.
It was a relaxing evening. We had an inside table that looked out over the harbor. The food and service were good.
Remember to get your 906 rewards, I forgot:(
I planned to have a dinner meeting at Mary’s Bistro and they failed to contact me that they were closed a private event. I was very disappointed by their lack of consideration for my reservation which I received a notification from them via open table to confirm the reservation.
Beginning of the season, few guest, awesome food and friendly servers. Pick any seat you want, go with the lake view ones!
This is a great restaurant. Prices are fairly reasonable for the island and the food was great. The Mack and Cheese was great and my wife loved the chicken pot pie
Service was fast, and we had a great view of the water.
One of my favorite restaurants on Mackinac Island! Been going since they opened in 2004.
We have a great family dinner with really good service.
Decent food, once it came. Horribly rude service by the owner, Mary.
This was our first visit to Mary's, by we were so glad we came! We had a 3 yr old with us and needed a place that accepted reservations - they were one of a select few that did. Our waiter was awesome, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better meal after a long day on the island.
All food was very salty. Wife ordered short rib mac n cheese but received mac n cheese with pieces of ham mixed in. We chose Mary's for their large beer selection but many of their beers were unavailable. Not worth the money at all. If you have small kids its nice bc the place is very loud so you wont feel bad if your kids are loud too.
There were 12 of us gals up for the Great Turtle Race. We split our reservation up 6/6 for easier accommodation. When we arrived at the island on Friday night. I physically went into the restaurant and confirmed out reservation for Saturday evening..."YES" and he showed me the 2 reservations with the names that they were reserved under. When we got there at 7 on Saturday...no reservations :-( BUT...they were able to accommodate non the less and we all had a wonderful time and the food was amazing (a little pricey, but fantastic).
Excellent view from the dining room. Good live music in the bar.
Lack of hospitality. We asked permission to have 1 tv tuned into the baseball playoffs. We knew it was the night of a Michigan game. So we actually visited the restaurant mid day and asked if I we could be accommodated. Once we arrived. We were treated like criminals. Stay away. The owner was unconcerned the bar tender was a bully and the server was a twirp. No one was in the place. Mediocre food. Poor service. Out of most stuff forgetful staff. Don't go. Many other more hospitable places on the island.
The server was friendly & efficient. The bibb salad with pork belly & blue cheese was excellent. The deviled eggs were good, but nothing special.
Very family and very casual... not my kind of place
The restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced with a great selection of beers if you are interested in Micro brews. However, they seemed disorganized and a number of the items on their menu were not available.
Good food and made to order due to diet restrictions. Thank you
It was a very nice place to eat at and the food was very delicious.
Deviled eggs were good and so was the BBQ Chicken pizza. Easy to get seated and great view although it was raining so we had to sit inside.
