Martine's River House
Seasonal Dishes. Classically Inspired. Contemporary Feel.
Martine's is consistently excellent. The chef takes pride in exquisite preparation and seasonal ingredients. I don't know what the other reviewers have against the drinks. My husbands beet vodka cocktail was fantastic! Martine's is our favorite New Hope restaurant
Our server was very friendly as well as all of the staff. The food was delicious. It got a little warm in the building when everybody else left around us. My fish was A little over cooked but was very flavorful.
Service was a little discombobulated and one person in our party was unhappy with the lamb meatballs, but the waiter took that item off the bill.
I understand during the summer, being next to a body of water there are going to be more bugs than normal. But you would think, a place that basically markets itself for having a great outdoor space next to the river would invest in a bug zapper or two. Not to mention the silver dollar sized spiders crawling around everywhere. Food was ok, service was fine.
Beautiful setting, but the food and service were lackluster. There are many outstanding restaurants in New Hope that we prefer.
We really enjoyed sitting outside with the river view. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious!
loved everything! the ambiance of being on the river, great waiters, delicious food and the COCONUT CAKE WAS OUTSTANDING!!!k
Awesome dining experience. Ambiance was perfect for a summer evening. Fireworks was an additional bonus!
Had a great dinner and our waiter, Brian, was awesome! I recommend the coconut margarita
We had a fabulous lunch before a show at the Bucks County Playhouse at the other end of the parking lot. The lunch menu had many dishes that appealed to us; we wish we could have enjoyed them all! We had a red beet / goat cheese / greens salad and pork / kim chi tacos. We lucked into a 80 degree day, so we ate on the deck and enjoyed the Delaware River, ducks, boats, and scenery of Lambertville, NJ. Our server was delightful and there when we needed him for a coffee refresher. I highly recommend Martine's!
The food was not prepared as requested. The service has been better. Hopefully, thuus was juyst an off niught. I've been there before when it was much much better.
Food was okay nothing special and the service takes forever.
Great food and wonderful outdoor seating on the river.
Food and ambiance was excellent. Portions a bit small for the prices
Food was "meh". Would not go back for the food, but to be on the patio overlooking the river was nice.
The environment is very nice . . priceless actually . . overlooking the river. The staff was professional and courteous, the food was terrific and the maitre'd went of of her way to be gracious.
Definitely a go to for us, food was excellent sceneries beautiful.
Waitstaff was friendly and very nice. Nice menu options overall
Wonderful restaurant nestled on the Delaware River- wonderful atmosphere- warm & inviting staff- great menu- specialty cocktails
We went with friends before "Mama Mia" at the Bucks County Playhouse matinée which we do frequently. The view is wonderful and the service outstanding. I had the pickled shrimp and fennel which I remember being better last year. The mousse was good but heavy. There scallops are wonderful but not served at lunch. The noise level was high with a lot of pre-theater goers. I will be there before the next show. The overall experience was enjoyable. Also the "Mama Mia" production I think was better than Broadway.
The location right on the river, overlooking Lambertville and the bridge, yet far enough away the traffic is not noticeable, is perfect. The food is very good, the service ok and the views outstanding. Nice for casual dining or a special occasion.
The food has gotten better and better here! Really delicious!
LOVE THIS PLACE - view is not to be beat and my halibut special Friday night was one of the best I have ever had, and that is being compared to the many high end restaurants that I eat in, in NYC where I live and around the world!
We had our last date night in New Hope at this restaurant and really enjoyed the food and the view over the Delaware.
Service was so poor along with view that we didn’t even stay for food. Went for the view but the patio was closed and they put us in a corner despite the place being empty. Took forever to have someone come by for drinks, again despite being empty. The menu also said no substations too not upset the chef. Hmmm. So much for customer satisfaction. No thank you.
Great night out on the deck and fireworks were amazing?
Disappointing with each of our meals. I don’t mind higher prices but expect a better caliber of meals. Too much dining options not to provide consistent quality entrees. Our pate Maison appetizer was delicious. The Iberico Pork Milanese was tasty but dry. I was looking forward to the Sweet Pea Bucatini but found that to be overpowered with a thick sauce.
Always Lovely sitting by the river and eating a delicious meal with your friends!
Lovely evening on the river. Food was outstanding. Wait staff very attentive when they had the time, seemed a little short staffed, it was a holiday weekend so that would probably explain it. And the peach sangria was outrageous!
Mediocre food that was overpriced. Here you’re paying for the view alone. My food was adequate, but. Y husbands was terrible. Just not worth it.
Good service good food. It had rained earlier so could not sit outside on deck and enjoy a riverview, they said the deck was too slippery.
The atmosphere is adorable, cute bar in the river. It was so noisy in there could not hear each other talk. We ordered the burrata and panzanella appetizer. Well it was missing the panzanella which is the bread soaked in the dressing and the main half of the dish. When we questioned the server she stated that it was missing breadcrumbs and she could get us some??? Then I ordered the tuna in a green curry with coconut rice and vegetables. Sounds great right? Well the rice was missing and there was no curry - it was a green broth that did not even have a hint of curry. I asked for the rice and when it came it was boiled mushy flavorless saltless white rice not the coconut rice on the menu. I’m not sure what this dish was remotely supposed to taste like. The server did offer me something else in its place and the scallops were delicious - cooked perfectly! The carrot and brown sugar purée did not have any taste of brown sugar or butter. I had eaten here with the same group of friends last year and it was awesome, I’m not sure what happened tonight.
It’s very quiet and peaceful sitting out on the deck or at a table near the back windows. The food was delicious and the service was great.
The view is wonderful, the food is ordinary. The restaurant did not recognize that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Disappointing! Don't expect anything if you are celebrating an occasion. The waitress never even wishes us
The views & the device service were wonderful.
The food was amazing, truly one of the best meals I’ve had recently.
Good was fantastic! And sitting outside with the river view was so nice. The Lamb meatballs were so good.
My husband, daughter and I enjoyed a lovely Father’s Day brunch on the deck overlooking the Potomac River. We all enjoyed our meals and the excellent service. I highly recommend the restaurant!
The food should have been superb for the prices.
It was pedestrian and tasteless.
I was in this establishment less than two years , and the difference was incredible.
I won’t go back for a long while.
My husband and I had lunch on the deck on a beautiful late spring day. He had a Reuben, which he enjoyed. I had a Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was good, but the salad was missing the croutons! The service was a bit slow, but the upside was that we had more time to enjoy the lovely weather and the riverside.
Amazing food on deck overlooking the river. Beauty of kayakers, ducks, and bridge made the perfect setting for romantic date. Service is superb as they made us comfortable but remained very professional.
