Martine's River House
Seasonal Dishes. Classically Inspired. Contemporary Feel.
Food was pretty good and service was polite but we waited over 10 minutes to see a waiter and our drinks took forever, prices are high for what you get, outside dining is nice by the river
Friendly service, beautiful scenery of the Delaware River on the deck.
Mother’s Day lunch. We had the entire place to ourselves. The food was great. I had the lamb meatballs and tacos. I would get both again. We also had the duck confit dlt and pasta. Everything was good. The service was spot on. And despite the downpour outside it was fun to sit inside by the big windows over looking the river.
Great food and service, been going to Martine's for years.
Our favorite place in New Hope. Excellent food and great location - on the river with views.
this restaurant had a very delicious brunch menu & drink specials. we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our time there. We sat outside with the view of the Delaware River.
We had a lovely dinner for two overlooking the river. The food was fresh and good and the drinks were tasty. Our waiter Mark was a gem. We will be back!
Restaurant week & have wanted to eat here during the week without tourist traffic. It was excellent & I will be back
Location! Location! Location! Parking is a problem but that's New Hope. The view is wonderful. The scallops are great. They had a shrimp and fennel lunch dish that I would like to see back on the menu. We go there a lot when we go to the Bucks County Playhouse usually for lunch.
Try another chocolate moose recipe!!! I was very dissapointed as I found it grainy and not very good.
We had a delightful dining experience.service was gracious
Food was excellent
Ambiance charming. Lovely view of the river
Looking forward to a return visit
Spectacular Dining Experience...all the courses were delicous, the service excellent, the greeting cordial, the atmosphere fantastic overlooking the river and Lambertville Station and Inn across the river. We especially appreciated the reasonably prices wines and the availability of good splits...we had cava, Louis Jadot pouilly fuisse, and a Guigal rhone
The food was very good and service was fine as well. The up charge on wine is a bit over the top, when a single glass costs more than buying an entire bottle. We had expected $9 or $10 per glass, but it was closer to $14 per glass for average brand wine. The overall experience was good, the food had nice flavor, and the meal was presented well. So just be careful as we where a bit shocked that the bar bill was much higher than we had expected, our fault for just ordering more rounds of drinks without knowing the prices up front.
Great place right on the river. Love to sit outside, when the weather is nice. Service is great. Food is too.
Casual place for apps and a cocktail. Brunch menu is limited, but we enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Would have given it 5 stars, but they were served with Canadian bacon and not Taylor Ham as stated on the menu!
Loved Martine’s. Our waiter was superb
Nice local restaurant in New Hope. A short walk from the Bucks County Playhouse. Inside and outside dining options. Very nice food selection. Attentive service. Overall worth a visit.
Loved Martine’s, would highly recommend. Delicious food, friendly waitstaff, great ambiance.
Lovely setting, good menu, attentive and amiable service.
We love the outdoor patio here on the river. Very pretty and much less crazy than The Landing. We went for lunch and had a very healthy pork loin taco. Drinks were good as well. It's not a huge menu but what they do they do well. It got so crowded in New Hope around dinner time we ended up coming back, but ate at the inside bar. Very generous drinks, great brussel sprouts! Nice group of people there too, and the workers were very friendly and competent. i would have no problem recommending Martine's.
We went for dinner on a warm spring evening which was perfect for eating on the back deck overlooking the river. But they were so busy that the service was slow and a little lacking. The food & drinks were great though so we’ll definitely be back.
We went to Martine’s for restaurant week and will probably return. The service was outstanding as were our appetizers. We both had the fried chicken as a main course but it was very disappointing. The restaurant week menu was quite limited so we’d like to see what it will be like with the full menu next time.
Food has not been as good as in the past our last 2 visits within past 3 months. Would go for drinks and apps in the summer to enjoy the view but not for great food . Something is different .
Martine's is known for it's scallops so I ordered them. Mine came with the burnt side down so that I wouldn't notice - I noticed. They should have redone them. There were only 3 tables taken on a Friday evening with a show at the Playhouse starting later that evening and they still didn't take the time to do the right thing.
I was disappointed by the hostess. I made a reservation and she ignored us. Then they put us upstairs by ourselves. I asked to be in the main dining room. They moved us downstairs. I noticed she put another couple at a open table who came in after us and told our waiter to stick us upstairs. Poor customer service. She was very ignorant. Our waiter did open up a table for us after I complained about being put upstairs.
Martine’s is a perfect spot for any meal any time. Cozy with a view of the river, the food is excellent and the drinks and wine selection very good. We head to Martine’s for lunch and dinner whenever we can.
Normally the food at Martine's very good, but during my last visit I ordered the chicken and it was dry and not very appetizing.
This was my first time at Martine's. The food and service were very good. Definitely going again.
Limited, over-priced lunch menu. Nice view.
Closed and cancelled my reservation and no one reached out. Very inconvenient had friends from out of town visiting.
We had a overall good experience at Martine's. We both had the scallops. They were good, but nothing special. Service was adequate, although our waiter did not introduce himself. I think we go back and try some other menu options, but there are other places we would go first.
Great little place tucked back off of the main road through New Hope. Beautiful view of the Delaware. Only downside was the hostess seemed overwhelmed trying to get everyone seated. We had reservations and didn’t get seated until 45 minutes later. We waited at the bar and I think she would have forgotten about us if I hadn’t asked her when our table would be ready.. other than that the service was good by the waitress and the food delicious!
Meals were delicious and perfectly. I had lamb chops, my spouse a steak, each prepared to the temperature requested. Vegetable substitutions cheerfully accommodated. One of our go to places and a perfect celebration location.
Very few menu options (5 entrees if I remember correctly). Have had better quality for less money. Nice location.
The service was terrible. Waiter didn't acknowledge us many times and food was extremely slow. Many tables came and left while we waited for our meal. Waiter never once said sorry or acknowledge the long wait. Just unacceptable.
Have been there several times and always have a great experience. Food is great and service is very good.
Excellent all around!
Martine's serves excellent food and the location (looking out on the Delaware) is amazing. The two times I've been there, however, I felt the service was slow--especially the first contact by the server. Nice restaurant.
One meal was excellent - the other was overcooked (dry).
Very loud that caused confusion over our order.
Waitress was very accommodating and respectful -
My crab cake appetizer was bland, almost tasteless. The sauce that should have given it its flavor was a tiny drop on top of it. The other 3 members of the party enjoyed their salads. They ran out of my first choice for an entree and I ordered the lamb chops special. I was glad that they had run out of the scallops. The lamb was perfectly cooked to the medium rare that I requested. The broth under it that the vegetable were in was magnificent -spicey and plentiful. Unlike most restaurants, the dish was served with a spoon for the broth. I couldn't finish it and took the remainder home. There was enough to fill a soup bowl. Everyone else enjoyed their steaks which were cooked exactly as requested and the portion was more than ample. The tira misu was pleasant and attractively presented. The problem with the restaurant, which was very full on this January Saturday night was that it was so noisy that you couldn't hear the person that you were sitting next to, even if you were basically yelling. There is nothing to absorb sound in the room and the ambiance suffers from not being able to enjoy the company with whom you're dining. It was too dark to take advantage of what must be a lovely view of the water in daylight or early evening. At times the service was understandably slow, but our server stopped by our table to let us know that our food would be coming soon. It was nice to know that we weren't forgotten.
We had a lovely dinner at Martine's. The flavors for our mains - the lamb and scallops - were incredibly well balanced. We had a perfect table overlooking the river and excellent service. It was quite loud in the restaurant, though I think much of that was due to one extremely loud four-top!
