We love to come here when we’re in the theater district. The food and service are always excellent- the calamari and tuna nicoise are favorites. The ambiance is charming and European. Busy but not too loud.
Horrible server...didnt bring milk or straw for iced coffee which we waited 20 minutes for.
Just was nit attentive at all we had to ask for a lot of items
I thought the French onion soup was amazing. The ambiance and the feel is great! The rest of the food was ok.
Went here for a pre-theater dinner on a Friday night. The menu has a nice variety of offerings in all sizes. Oysters were good and fresh, grilled octopus was rated highly except adding cilantro to the salad almost ruined the dish. Cilantro was not listed as an ingredient and there was loads of it. Salad nicoise was very good, steak tartar was very good and generous and wonderful accompaniments. We''ll be back.
Friendly staff. Very good food at reasonable price. Nice old world, but airy decor.
Best location for pre theater or after theater lunch or dinner
Delicious food and great selection of wines
And the manager is very attentive and helpful
Food was gre
Food was good by mine arrived cold, must have been sitting out for a while. I was too hungry to turn it away but it would have been nice to have it hot
We had the most wonderful waiter Jason who made our experience great!
Always a good choice!!! Did a Mother’s Day brunch and were well cared for. Food is always good. Pleasant and easy.
Good service and food, but a bit too noisy for conversation.
For the last many years, this was our favorite restaurant for pre-theater brunch/lunch. I don’t know what happened, but it missed the mark this time. We were 5 people who ordered different meals, and each one was really awful. We will have to find a new theater district restaurant after this.
I’ve visited and had other/better meals at this restaurant. This was a special occasion which I mentioned when making the reservation but was not acknowledged by anyone (until my husband brought it up at the end of the meal). I had bouillabaisse which was unfortunately very weak and dare I say tasteless. My husband liked his chicken entree. Creme brûlée was good. Service was attentive but not personable.
My husband I and have had two great experiences here and the food and drinks have been outstanding. Love this place before or after the Theater.
Outstanding meal and service
Great spot for a casual or business lunch. Good food, attentive staff, and quiet!
Wait staff very accommodating and acknowledged ou time as we had tickets for a matinee at 2:00
No problem with the reservation but it was at 5:00 so it wasn't really busy. Service was prompt and courteous. My wife didn't know we were going to a show so she told the waiter we were just going to take our time, which he honored. I told her about the show and we called the waiter back and explained. He was fine with it and took our order quickly. We shared a calamari appetizer which was very tasty though the squid was a little rubbery. My wife had top round lamb for her entree which she loved and I had duck breast. The duck was cooked well and very tender but there was a rhubarb confit that was tasty but overpowered the duck. For dessert she had the chocolate mousse which she also loved. I had the apple tart which was a little dry though the ice cream made it better. It could have used a little more of the caramel, but what couldn't? Anyway it was a good meal. I guess my biggest complaint (the same one I often have) was the drink prices. The bill total came to $176. without the tip and almost half of that was the cost of 3 cocktails! Just takes the fun out of it for me. We were out in plenty of time to get to our show.
Best escargot I have ever had .
Very authentic French bistro food
you be the judge:
lunch for 3, no alcohol, $182.96 w/tip, 3 different dishes, 2 bites of each, waiter just took it back, no questions asked like "how is it or was it". i suppose answer was obvious by looking at 3 full plates. tip was left because i respect myself. i wrote a note on a bill "awful food" but they just ran my credit card and no one asked a thing, i guess that was not supersize to them.
When we come to town for theater, my wife and I always plan a meal at Marseille. The only thing I would tell management is that changes in their menu can work against them when their gutsy only comes twice a year.
Solid brunch spot near Times Square. Inside was comfortable. Variety of brunch dishes. Food was good if not exciting. Easy reservations. Tables weren’t packed together. In other words, not stressful.
Loved the trout entree. Very attractive venue with good service. Excellent choice when seeing a show and even when you just want a good meal.
provides consistently good, traditional French cuisine. Outstanding wine list. Great service
Good French bistro food.
The restaurant gets better and better! Thank you so much for keeping up the quality and the service. I always appreciate the changing floral arrangements and take photos regularly!
Disappointing. One of our supposedly filleted fish was full of Bones. Have been here before and enjoyed immensely. This time not so much
This was my first visit. I liked the ambience. The table legs were very uncomfortable, so it was hard to position one's leg/feet.
We were not able to make an 8:00 reservation online, so settled for 8:30; however, when we got there, the place was practically empty.
The steak was very fatty, so half of the portion was not really edible.
I'm open to giving it another try.
Loved it all, classic french bistro in every way, couldn’t have been better
The menu is diverse and has something for everyone. The service was prompt and helpful. The location is superb and we had a nice pre theater dinner without the crush of a restaurant further east.
Always a pleasure. Great staff, great ambiance, great location. Good food. A classic that never disappoints.
It’s a pleasure to know we will always be able to please my family’s varied eating preferences.
My favorite restaurant for Brunch! It is consistently good, fresh and happy. Great location too!
Good pre-theatre location but nothing amazing. Our table was by the door which was not pleasant. Food was average for their competition. Salads fairly average too. A fine choice but nothing extraordinary either by value or food.
We had a delightful brunch. Our seeing was excellent. The food was delicious, especially the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. My friend loved his burger with gruyère cheese. We were not rushed and had plenty of time to make our 1:00 curtain at the theatre.
Food was well prepared. Service was very professional. Thursday night special: you can choose a bottle of wine from a list of ten for $30
Unfortunately our experience at this establishment did not match many of the reviews I saw online. First of all, I tried to contact the restaurant ahead of time to add a special anniversary element to our meal experience and they never got back to me. Went ahead with the reservation anyway since it was recommended.
Started with the calamari which was well seasoned but very chewy. My boyfriend got the steak frites and was extremely disappointed. The steak was chewy and lacked flavor, totally flat. On the other hand, I did enjoy the duck breast. Our server was excellent and a saving grace. He even took the steak off the bill which we did not ask for. Unfortunately, the food just wasn’t good enough for the price. We would not go back.
We often eat here when we’re in New York and going to the theater. The food is very good, the service crisp and precise. They get you out in plenty of time. They have enough different dishes that you don’t have to repeat what you’ve already had before. The price is typical NYC, around $30 per person for lunch. It’s located in the theater district so it’s convenient to go to. All in all a very worthwhile restaurant to choose.
Always reliable for quality pre-theatre. Good food, efficient service, lovely space. Best fries anywhere!
