Marseille offers the tastes of France right in the middle of New York's Theater District. A perfect place for your group to gather before or after your time at the theater.
Marseille Ratings and Reviews
We rarely go out in the theater district on weekends. Just too many people. Marseille is a terrific restaurant, but be prepared for quite a din. We dined at 6:00 before the theater on a Saturday, and the noise was almost too much. A shame because the food was delicious, and the service quite good. The bouillabaisse is the best!
After ordering drinks and our meal, our waiter never returned to our table. We had to flag down another waiter to order a second glass of wine (at $12 a glass). With no explanation, a different waiter delivered our pre-fixe dessert and the check. Really, this is considered adequate service by this restaurant?
I have been going to Marseille for several years. Not once have I been less than completely satisfied with my experience there. Everyone I've ever dined with at this wonderful restaurant has loved the experience and most return there with friends, dates and spouses. I recommend this restaurant very highly. In fact, it is my favorite place to dine in all of New York City.
Good place pre-theater in Hells Kitchen ! Met my sister there for brunch before going to a matinee at City Center - convenient and good. I prefer their regular menu to the brunch menu but it was fine. I do wish the portions did not have to be so enormous - I had the chicken paillard salad which was good but enough for 2 people - a normal portion at half the price would be so much better!! at least as an option-
the fava bean hummus was but too bland and hte pita bread served with it was awful...
but like the place so would go back and still recommend
My husband and I were meeting an old friend who lives out of town, to celebrate his upcoming birthday and visit together. We have enjoyed Marseille a few times before so we opted to meet our friend there. The ambiance and service were impeccable. Our meals were each delicious, but my husband felt his chicken pailliard could have been a bit warmer. The noise level was somewhat higher than our previous experiences because as it happened, we were meeting for lunch on a matinee Wednesday. Overall we were pleased.
