Marseille offers the tastes of France right in the middle of New York's Theater District. A perfect place for your group to gather before or after your time at the theater.View Private Dining Details
The calamari and tuna tuscare was on point. Someone recommended this restaurant for the coffee and was as amazing as described. Also their non alcoholic drinks were so good. Loved it all.
This is the third time that I’ve eaten in Marseille and I must say that I loved it every time. Their brunch is excellent and the restaurant setting is absolutely beautiful. I will definitely be back and will highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect dining experience within the theatre district!!
I always bring visitors to the city here. It’s beautiful and delicious, well located, and the service is usually great. Great place for weekday lunch, too.
We were in NYC for a wine conference and wanted to have the type meal you don’t find in most small NC towns. Although we have been together 27 years, we consider every dinner together a “date”. We want atmosphere, enough quiet to be able to talk to each other, and great food and wine choices. We got all of this at Marseille, and excellent service was also included. I ate a delicious Trout Grenobloise-served in a lemon caper sauce over braised spinach and John ate Bouillabaisse-a classic fish stew in an incredibly delicious saffron-tomato-fennel broth. Both dishes were beautifully presented, served hot and so good. We broke tradition and drank a reasonably priced white Italian wine. Their list had something for every pocketbook ( based on NYC pricing). Of course, this wine would never be available in one of our local restaurants. We treated ourselves to an Apple Carmel tart topped with vanilla ice cream and espressos. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a positive, little-less hectic NYC meal. Hats off to Joshua at the desk and Megan, our server.
Very very accommodating and pleasant had a wonderful dinner
Ambiente muy ruidoso, la comida y el servicio sobresalientes
One of our best dinners in a long time - creative food, delicious wine, extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. Our waiter made excellent recommendations, all of which were wonderful.
So so loud. In spite of the fact of getting there early for a Saturday brunch they seated us right by the door which is even worse noise level wise. We were visiting friends we hadn’t seen in 15 years and there was impossible conversation -however the frites pecan (tho one pecan) French toast was heavenly, the waffle was terrible with tasteless syrup. I’ve been here many times but not for brunch -was disappointing overall
May be the best restaurant in the theater district. Solid food for all tastes. Dress up or dress down. Noise level is oppressive. Been going there for years.
The fries tasted like they had been cooked in the same oil as fish. I ate them anyway, with ketchup. The hamburger and my friend's steak were good, not fantastic.
I do keep coming back. I enjoy the food. The service is terrific. It’s convenient for me and I bring my out of town friends. My favorite is brunch.
Marseille was a lovely spot for a pre-theater meal. Selections were varied and accomodate most dietary needs. The grilled shrimp salad was fresh and ample and the warm breadsticks were tasty. The atmosphere is really its best feature. It's just like sitting in a Parisian cafe. I'll be back.
Nice lunch. Food was excellent as well as the servers.
We went here before a show. Service was great and food was prepared well. We had a salad and muscles. Both very good
Nice experience. Restaurant was not crowded. Food was good. Waitstaff was nice.
One of the very best options in the Theatre District: comfortable surroundings with very good food and drink, at very good prices. The service is also always helpful and pleasant. I have gone regularly for years and am never disappointed.
always delicious, friendly and prompt service. Love this restaurant!
Always even and steady - pretty spot and great for conversation. cozy booths which I love. The food, wine and service are all wonderful!
The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the wines by the glass were terrible - $16 for wine that was one level below jug wine.
our experience at this restaurant was superb- we wanted French and it was delivered!
The soup was as dreamed for and both main courses-(duck and pork chops) surprising yet satisfying. Want to return- service was all business but friendly. Great work, folks!
WE are always happy with the food preparation at Le Marseille.
Tasty and good portions.
I was only diappointed by my Kir Royale. It tasted bad. Bad champagne and a bitter aftertaste.
Very nice - great menu. Near most of the Broadway theatres.
The best french good in NYC. In the theatre district - staff is amazing.
We were early so we had a drink at the bar. Bartender was very friendly. They carry several brands of pastis which I really enjoy. Food was very good. Had the bouillabaisse and the duck entrees and the grilled octopus and escargot for appetizers. Wait staff was excellent, very attentive without overcrowding. Totally enjoyed the experience. Will definitely go back.
Excellent food and service. Great location for theater goers. Quick service but not rushed. Staff was lovely.
Service was unexpectedly inattentive. Kept having to seek out our server for water, my expresso (May companions expresso arrived - mine did after she finished hers. The salad that is always delicious had almost no dressing rendering it tasteless. Poor service mediocre food in a place that is usually excellent. Disappointed 😒
I have been to Marseille for brunch several times, but all for special occasions. The prices are not inexpensive, but the food is more than worth what is paid. There is never any part of my experience which I think could have improved at all. The restaurant is impeccably clean with extremely attentive and courteous staff. I am always amazed that no matter what I order from the menu, my food just "melts in my mouth." This place is definitely special. After you eat there once, you will undoubtedly want to return.
A dependable standby in the theater district, though the food seemed to have slipped a notch since the last time we visited.
Excellent choice in the theater district. Good value for a good meal in the area. Food is always good. Nice menu. The bar is also fun.
Nice atmosphere and wait staff. You can definitely talk and sit for a while without being rushed. If you need to get to the theater they will always get you out on time.
Always feel welcome, good service, super atmosphere and great French twist in all the dishes.
Met with an out-of-town friend for a pre-matinee lunch. Our server was a delight. The bread roll was hot and delicious. We split a fabulous mushroom pie starter and each had salads (chicken and lump crab). We arrived at 11:45 for our reservation and were seated promptly and had completed our meal in time for leisurely walk to the theater. There is a huge wine list and a far shorter list of wines by the glass, but it the wines on the by-the-glass were just fine for us. It is moderately priced and I cannot wait to return.
Great wine list. Prix fix menu is excellent value. Consistently pleasant place in theater district to get together.
We went for dinner before a B'way show. Service was attentive, cocktails were well-prepared, the wine list is extensive. Food was very good, from apps to desert. Got us out in plenty of time for the show. We have eaten here several times and have always been pleased with the experience.
Waiter was not very informed about the menu nor did he bother to check about the questions we asked and rather just gave his assumptions. For example, we asked if the onion soup was made from beef broth and he replied that there was no beef in the soup. We were skeptical and asked the manager who went to check. By the time she came back our order had already arrived. We found out the soup was made with beef broth. Since I don’t eat beef, I find this error unacceptable. What if an allergy was involved? Except for the escargots, the food was average.
Decent pre-theatre restaurant but not up to its standard of past years.
This is a reliable pre and post theater venue, to which I go regularly. The service and food are of high quality. The atmosphere is congenial.
Very good service, nice wine list on the day with a white Savoie @ 30$
Food no issues whatsoever
Overall a great experience
Had wonderful food and was a great choice before a show on Valentine's Day. Despite the holiday, the price was reasonable, especially considering how good the food was and the location.
