Reliable high quality food and service As an annual visitor, with so much changed in dining experiences over the past three years, it was wonderful to discover Marseille is thriving with it high quality menu and service. Our party of three shared the vegetarian couscous as a starter, but our choices were varied thereafter. The kitchen got each dish and requested modifications just right. The service was timely and allowed us to relax into our conversations.

The heirloom tomato salad & French Fries were fantastic, and the oysters were good too. My friends enjoyed the short rib and duck leg. The risotto was underwhelming - my mistake for ordering an Italian dish at a French restaurant. I was disappointed they took the asparagus with hollandaise, poached egg and mushrooms off the menu. I went back specifically for this dish and was sad to see it gone. Overall, it was a nice dining experience.

There's not a lot that's authentically French about this restaurant. I grew up in Paris and maybe it passes as authentic for New Yorkers but I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food. It's not bad but it's not great either. The staff doesn't really know the dishes or speak any French. There are grammatical errors on the menu. On the positive side the service was courteous, speedy and we made our show on time.

The atmosphere was quaint and beautifully decorated. Our wait staff were very courteous and attentive. They were there quickly but you never felt like they were hovering. The food was fabulous! We had the duck leg confit, boulliabaisse, daube beef short ribs and poulet roti and the lemon tart and hazelnut gateau for dessert. I would recommend them all!

Have eaten at Marseille a few times and think that they rely on their proximity to Broadway so that they don't have to provide better food and beverages. The drinks are expensive and VERY short pours, e.g., Martini in a tiny glass and their Rose Sangria is so packed with ice (in another tiny glass) that the only fruit is a slice of strawberry and 2 blueberries? In a Sangria??? I had the Vegetable Couscous and 80% of the vegetables were large chunks of eggplant (barely cooked), some zucchini and 3 pieces of cauliflower. Really this establishment could go a long way in enhancing the menu so that it provides more than just a convenient place before a show. With so many other restaurants on that stretch of 9th Ave. I'd suggest trying another restaurant. The only thing memorable was the expensive check ($200 for 2, no desert).

My 2nd time back since pre covid and I'm not sure I will be back. Food was good, service awful, and air conditioning needed to be raised. We asked for it to be cooler because a few of us were sweating, asked for ice, and someone ordered an ice tea that she never got but was billed for. The restaurant was not overly busy, and we asked for things several times but never got them. The other people with me had never been and will not go back.

My daughter and I were visiting from NC. I had previously reviewed the menu as I wanted to order the Skate Wing entree. This is an extremely difficult item to find in NC. I am so glad we made it to the restaurant. Our departure schedule was tight, but we made it work, and it was SO worth it!

Our second visit to Marseille for Sunday brunch even topped our first winning visit in 2021. French Bistro done right. We were invited to a two-seater booth that gave us a good view of the whole party, which grew throughout our rewarding stay. We were tag-team served this time, and very well. The martini pours are OK but in not-OK little glasses. Be prepared to order another round. As a starter, we shared the fava bean hummus (herbs-a-plenty created a green-hued end result), served with crispy chickpea fries. This is an amazing dish! The concept is original and the execution was flawless. For entrees, my wife loved the avocado toast and I was blown away by the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Both dishes were served with a small mixed green salad and a scrumptious skillet potato-onions-peppers mixture. What a perfect pre-theatre Sunday brunch. Thank you! Marseille has earned a spot in our first team rotation.

most disappointing brunch ever. Food came out immediately, was cold and obviously prepared before it was ordered. Omelette rubbery and tasteless. Bread either extremely stale or toasted way too lightly, and also cold. The service was excellent and the drinks were nice but didn't make up for the terrible food

Great place for pre-heated meal. Prompt service, friendly waitress, delicious food and good drinks. I had the botanical gin and tonic, shared octopus appetizer, had pasta Marseille ( seafood), and shared peach pie dessert. All excellent. Husband had trout and said it was great. Would definitely go again.

We loved the casual elegance – light and bright, with little French touches everywhere. This was a second visit after having had lunch here a few days earlier. Delicious dishes we had included the Lorraine omelet, grilled chicken salad, quinoa bowl, and moules frites. The lobster risotto was a bit undercooked, but still tasty. Lillet spritz and other lovely cocktails were enjoyed! Service was friendly and well-timed without being overbearing. Special thanks to our server Johnny, who made the first visit so delightful we just had to return a second time before heading home from vacation!
